Rayla was at one time in love with Nick. They both were a really good couple, really close. Then it was like someone took that image and ripped it. He became mean and distant and a little controlling. Rayla isn't sure if he noticed this, but she wonders if this may be why he left her. For a long time she was heartbroken, but 5 years later she meets Jack. Now Nick is back and she has decide who she loves.

"let's get to it." I said getting up.

I nod and follow him.

We walked to the woods in silence. Neither wanting to speak, both lost in thought. Once we got to our cave we stripped our clothes and fell into a comfortable jog building up to a good run. Before we knew it we were both sprinting through the trees.

I wasn't thinking openly to him. But I could sense a wall around his as well. I was curious. If I could forget the pain what would I feel love behind the kiss? And receive it from him? Or would I just feel it on my side?

I couldn't stop my mind from going back to when we dated, and see how happy she made me, and how I took it all for granted, just because I was scared of letting someone love me and returning it. She was better than most girls I had dated and I also realized that after we broke up, I never dated much. I guess I was changing all along just didn't see the little things.

I could tell what step I would take if I broke up with Jack. I could try being with him and that's exactly what I would do after the break up. I would run to him and nothing would happen, then I would blurt it out.

I then thought of where we would be when she finally do break up with Jack. I knew she didn't feel the same way as I did when we kissed, but I couldn't help but hope that we could work towards something together, even if it is a better friendship.

The silence started to get to me but I did nothing. Then something pushed me and I fell into him and we rolled before stopping. I looked up and saw something small run but it didn't bother me.

I was knocked from my thoughts when she ran into me. I just laid there trying to figure out what happened. "you okay?" I asked still looking at her.

I nod. "I'm fine." I shook myself and looked at him.

I wasn't sure of what to say next, because this reminded me of last night except now she was the one who fell on me.

I sat down and stretched.

Once she was off me, I stretched my body and just flopped back down in the grass. I was still a little out of breath from the running we did.

I laid down and put my head on my paws.

"feeling okay?" I asked her

"Yeah."

"let's go get something to drink." I say standing.

I nod and stand as well. I follow him to a nearby creek and we drink.

As we drunk from the creek I sensed something was about to happen. I stopped and looked up, scanning the surrounding area keeping my ears open. It was quiet for now but I knew something was out there.

I looked up quietly. My mouth hung slightly open to show I was alert and something was causing trouble.

I dipped my head again for another sip of water before I moved closer to Rayla. Just as I was about to say something, the noise grew louder.

I stayed quiet, my ears flicking back and forth as I tried placing the sound. Car , was my first thought. I listened more and realized it was a van.

Just as I placed the sound I heard a gun shot hit a tree. "let's get out of here!" I yelled and pushed to in away from the van.

I started running quietly behind him. We tried going to our cave but it soon proved impossible. So we tried running home.
