Rayla was at one time in love with Nick. They both were a really good couple, really close. Then it was like someone took that image and ripped it. He became mean and distant and a little controlling. Rayla isn't sure if he noticed this, but she wonders if this may be why he left her. For a long time she was heartbroken, but 5 years later she meets Jack. Now Nick is back and she has decide who she loves.

"What time did you plan on ditching me today?" I asked playfully.

"I hadn't thought of leaving yet. You know I never did before." I said.

I nodded and finished off my drink. "Okay then. What were you making?" I asked seeing that she had food and things out.

I wasn't sure what to say or do. Especially after what happened last night. I wasn't sure how she felt about it, and I didn't want to press the issue and end up loosing her for good.

I thought about Jack just out of the blue. Truthfully I was debating on breaking up, because I didn't want to lose my friend. Like with Nick, even though we're putting it past us, we broke up and my friend was gone. But maybe that time was good, it could give him time to adjust to change and everything else.

As we sat there in the silence I let my mind wonder to many things. I went to our relationship, the break up, and how casual it felt to just be able to talk with her again. Even if I did make things awkward now. It was nice to know that she was still willing to be around me. Maybe change wasn't so bad after all.

"i can clean up." I said after we had finished eating.

"I'll help," I said and got up.

"so what's the plan for the day?" unasked drying my hand.

"Jack left a message so first I have to leave him a message. Then I am free for today." I said.

I gave a slight nod. "well I guess we can do whatever you'd like to."

"We'll discuss it more after Jack and I talk." I said and pulled out my phone to talk to him.

I left the room to give her some privacy to talk. I went to the living room and turned the tv to a comedy show.

I talked to him about last night and he was upset but didn't want to get into it on the phone. And he was at work. I go to the living room and flop onto the couch with a sigh.

"everything okay?" I asked her

"He's mad because I didn't call him last night and tell him I wouldn't be home. He said while he was out looking for me, scared out of his mind, I was playing games with my ex. Of course he didn't want to talk on the phone or while at work he asked me to be home." I said.

I didn't like the thought of him hurting her, but there wasn't much I could do. "when do you have to be home?" I asked her.
