Emma always thought she was the only one of her kind left, her home was destroyed by unknown creatures. The only reason she survived was because her mother made her hide. Now she's searching for survivors hoping that they can kill the creatures that killed everyone.

I waiting hearing their conversation. I wonder how they all got here I thought.

So there were others still around. "Lacy." I introduced. "I guess you could say I'm a nomad myself. Where are the others?" I asked eyeing him suspiciously. What if this was Angevin to set me up. I couldn't trust him.

"One's a girl and the other is guy setting up camp in the woods."

I nodded my head. "have you came across any others besides those two?" I questioned being around them seemed to be a good idea for the time being. Just hope like hell this wasn't a set up, if so I would kill him, with no hesitation.

"okay then. Lead the way." I said as I let him walk a few steps ahead of me so I could keep an eye on him.

I saw the walk my way. Another girl I thought happily I haven't seen one in months.

When we got back to the other girl I waited for them to say hello ans whatnot.

I looked around the small camp and seen, just as he said, another girl and guy. They looked like they've been on the run for a while now, so that meant it wasn't a set up, and they looked hungry too. I couldn't blame them, another month without blood and I'd probably die. "I have food." I said as I took the bag off my back and showed them what was inside. "most of it will be bad by tomorrow so it needs to be gone now."

I smiled liked a maniac. "I haven't had nothing to eat for weeks now, my human side was going crazy without some food"

I began taking the food out showing them what I could grab. "there is this small diner just a few miles back that way. That's where I got the food. Most of it was rotten, but I managed to save some of what was left. Hopefully the raw meat is still some good." I explained setting everything up. "I'm Lacy by the way." I introduced when I was done.

"Dude you brought back others and food?!?!? Cool!" I said as I lit a camp fire.

"Are you okay with sharing?" I asked her.

I shrugged not really caring. I couldn't be stingy and keep it for myself. "I'm fine I already ate."

"Im Emma" I said smiling. "Ive been trying to find survivors for so long, and now here you guys are!"

"I'm Adam. Where are you all from?" I asked curious.


"Well thanks for sharing." I said.

"I'm from three towns in the opposite direction. We got hit by the unknowns about two months ago, and I've been on my own ever since." I said being the first to speak up.

"Im from another town far away. "I was the only half human half vampire there" I said

"I grew up in the foster care system for unwanted children when I was a baby. My parents..Well one was a vampire...or maybe both..I don't know. All I know is I can eat human food and drink blood. My town was also attacked two months ago. 3 towns east of here." I said speaking up.


"My family..Friends..They were all taken away from me a month ago. I'm still sad about it but I keep pushing myself to get further away. To find a safe town and start my life over. My mother was half vampire while my father was a full vampire. I had two brothers and two sisters. Many cousins. Aunts. Uncles and etc. But all are gone. I'm the only one left from my bloodline. I'd been camping by myself far from town. So those monsters didn't find me. My town was two towns away to the North East."

"so it sounds like we're pretty much in the same boat here. Our town was attacked and we're the only survivors of our family." I summarized. "and from the looks of it, we might not find many survivors in this town either. I haven't been far, but from what I have seen so far they wasn't expecting the invasion even with word of the other towns being hit."

"So what are we going to do now?" I asked. Were we the only ones that had survived and what do we do now that we found each other?

"I'm not perverted or anything like that but repopulating our race should be somewhere towards the end of the list."

"I agree...But I think the top mission is finding a safe place to make into a home or a safe town or city. And staying together."

I couldn't help but laugh. "You got that right" I said. "Were do you suggest we do that?"

I couldn't help but shudder a bit at the thought of repopulation. Hopefully we'll fine more survivors so we won't have to be the only ones left. "repopulating should be at the end of our list. But I guess for now we stay here for the night, to get our energy and strength back before we move on again. I guess we can all take shifts in being the watch while everyone else sleeps." I suggested but I already knew sleep would never come for me, I wouldn't allow it. Only because every time I close my eyes I'm haunted by the gruesome images of my mother and her slaughtered body. They showed no mercy because she resisted. Just weeks after I found my momi found my sister, it seemed she killed herself before they could get to her. Something that will be forever with me.

"Hey! I did say I wasn't trying to sound like a creep!" I said feeling annoyed. "I'll take the first watch. You three finish eating and sleep some. Adam you'll have second watch."

"Aye aye Capitain!" I said to Waylan. I rubbed my stomach a little. I was full even though I hard hardly eaten half of what I was use to eating. "I can sleep in a tree. You ladies can share the shelter I built." I said standing up . I grabbed some rope and climbed up a tree 8 feet from camp

"Alright then" I said grabbing food out of the bag "Don't fall of the tree" I said to Adam before going to the shelter he had made and sat down.
