Emma always thought she was the only one of her kind left, her home was destroyed by unknown creatures. The only reason she survived was because her mother made her hide. Now she's searching for survivors hoping that they can kill the creatures that killed everyone.

I continued my search for more survivors, it's been a month since I've found any. So far no luck. I thought about just packing up and leaving, I've come close too many times with getting caught by The Unknown. I never thoughts those late night trainings would actually come in handy. My dad used to always take me and my sister out to the back yard and fight, taught us how to protect ourselves incase something like this happened. So far I've been managing to hold up. I was becoming tired and hungry. I haven't fed in God knows when. Just as I dogged another Unkown I climbed this building and looked around to see what could find. To my luck I saw a small town not too far. Next stop, a small town. Hopefully there will be others there.

I climbed out of the tree and made my way towards the town. Hoping of finding survivors. Hours later I arrived tired and hungry. I haven't feed in weeks only because I was afraid someone might find me and kill me. Being half vampire was difficult when someone that didn't know about me felt threatened.

When I got into the small town my stomach rumbled. I needed food...or blood. But being on the run meant no blood. And even though I'd been eating human food my thirst still overcame all of my senses. I sighed.


The town was small. There must be only 500-1,000 people living here., I thought to myself. It meant I couldn't feed here without being spotted. I'd have to eat human food. Some of it tasted good but nothing tasted as good as blood.

When I finally got there I was nearly exhausted and didn't know what to do with myself. I continued to wonder around until I found a small diner. When I walked in I had to keep my eyes open, they could be anywhere right now.

I looked around being alert of any sudden movements. So far the town seemed like a ghost town I thought as I kept walking down the streets.

The diner was pretty empty. It smelled of stale foods and rotten meat. I made my way to the kitchen to see if there was anything back there I could use to settle my stomach until I could get my hands on some blood. The smell was even worse the closer you got to the kitchen. I scrounged around and was able to find some bread and raw meat that hadn't gone bad yet. It wasn't the greatest meal but it was something. After I ate all I could, I gathered all the food that was edible, and what drinks and water that was left. I locked up the small place and decided I'd try and take a power nap before I move on to continue my search, food and all. I made sure I had my weapons close by just incase The Unkown decided to show up. I took a few table clothes and make a makeshift palate behind the counter and laid there, finally allowing the tears of loss fall

After walking for half an hour I wasn't able to find any food to satisfy my stomach. I was so hungry and thirsty from walking. I was doubting there were any survivors here but a gut feeling told me to keep looking.

I was walking around in the woods a little outside of the town when I sensed I wasn't alone. There was a snap of a branch. Like someone was climbing down a tree. I moved towards the sounds. Then I heard a male voice muttering. Soon I saw that was a guy. Looked around my age. I moved closer.

"Who are you? And what are you doing?" I asked. His smell was like..one of my kind..Odd.

"I'm Adam. My town was destroyed so I'm a nomad now I guess. Who are you?"

"Waylan. I'm in the same situation. Just trying to find a safe town for a few days until I get far enough away." I replied.

"Well Waylan maybe we could stick together? Take shifts going to sleep and stuff while camping in the woods?" He asked

"Alright. But we ain't friends. We're both just nomads on the same quest. I was going to head into this town to try and find food. You set up camp and I'll be back soon." I said and walked into the town. Trying to smell out food.

I smiled as he walked away. For the first time in awhile I wasn't alone. I liked it. I started to set up camp.

Sleep somehow wouldn't come to me even though I was mentally and physically tired. I just couldn't seem to find sleep when I knew I was still in danger and pretty much alone at this point.

I looked around and sighed "Hello!" I screamed out "Anybody out there?!!" I hoped someone was out there but if I had screamed and the unknown were out there... dam I thought.

"Stop your screaming, Woman. Your not alone." I replied when I was 2 yards away from her.

As I laid there quietly I thought I heard a voice in the far distance, thinking it was one of the unknown I quickly stood as I grabbed a weapon and braced myself for the attack.

I turned around quickly seeing a guy around my age. "I thought I was the only one here" I said relieved someone was here and feeling caution at the same time

"Actually I have a..acquaintance..In the woods setting up camp. His name is Adam. I'm Waylan."

I couldn't stay in here, it wasn't safe. I moved around the diner collecting all I could carry, packing the food as best as I could. I went around the back and unlocked the door peeking out cautiously before heading wherever my feet carried me.

I heard someone coming out of one of the buildings. "Hold on." I say and go running after the person.

I heard someone coming and waited. There were more people I thought relived.

As I continued walking I heard footsteps not far from me. I dug my hand in my pocket and got a firm grip on the knife that was there, ready to strike if need be. I kept my head down and ears open aware that I was no longer alone on this vacant little town.

I tackled the person to the ground. "Who are you and what are you doing in this town?" I asked softly.

I was surprised when they tackled me. I didn't have time to draw my weapon and now I had a face full of dirt. I rolled over and managed to push them off me. " I should be asking you the same thing." I said asi stood and brushed myself off.
