He lives a sheltered routine life, used to order and schedule. That’s how it’s been since his wife passed. Before she died, they had the same routine and structure. Sex was for pregnancy and straight forward. His children, well mannered and reaching their early teens. 

She’s free spirited and clumsy. Travelling the world one month at a time. Her parents died and left her a trust fund for her to experience life at its best. She knows no schedule, and enjoys living. 

A job takes her to a small town, where she is to take photos of the beauty she finds. Renting a small house next to a large property. She goes over to introduce herself and finds the man less than pleasant.. but it doesn’t bother her and she soon finds herself annoying him for help each day.

How can he let someone new in his life when he had lost his only one. Everything she does, says, wears.. he compares it to her and when they become something more, he finds himself still saying she’s doing things wrongly.. can he let go of his past, and become something more with the future? and when he discovers old diaries in the attic that details a sordid affair with her ex boss, is it too late to see what he could have had.

Christ. I felt bad they had heard. “So you brought a suit right?” I asked changing the subject. “We have the gallery tonight.” I reminded.

I forgot my suit. “Ummm noni need to get one.” I felt bad for forgetting. “I kind of rushed to get to the airport, but don’t worry I’ll get one before lunch.” I held kenzie. “So kids maybe we can stop and get that and then Legoland?”

“We can go on the way back? So you’re not carting it around.” I smiled, I was really excited to go tonight with him. But also very nervous. 

“And you kids are with me tonight” josh winked walking out in boardshorts. “Dad and mum are doing something romantic.” 

“She’s not our mum.” Kenzie said with defence.

I smiled. “No she isn’t but you will respect her because maybe some day she will be your step mum!” I said sternly. Looking at Tessa. Meaning it I hoped one day she would be.

“I know I’m not your mum, and he didn’t mean it like I was. It’s just a saying sweetheart.” I hated she got so defensive about it. “Anyway, coffee is done and breakfast should be here soon.” I felt slightly awkward with the kids. “I’m going to shower and get dressed”.

I shook my head when Tessa walked away. “Kids listen I really really care for Tessa so you all need to try to care for her too, she’s not going anywhere and some day I will want to ask her to marry not just me but all of us okay!” I was nervous and hoped they understood what I was saying.

“Really? But you’re alrwady married.” Chad said confused. “You still have your ring.”

Kenzie looked up sad “but you won’t be married to mummy anymore. You said you would love her and never anyone else.” 

Tom grinned “cool! I’m going to play.” And he ran off

I sighed. “You see when your mummy passed away that ended our marriage and yes Kenzie I will always love your mum, but I love Tessa too. I want to be with Tessa and I want you to be okay with it because i know you want me to be happy right? Well you kids and Tessa make me so happy if I lost one of you I’d be sad.”

“I don’t want you to marry her.” She said sadly. “I don’t want another sister or brother. I hope the baby dies.” She ran off and inside as Tessa was walking out “I don’t want you to marry my dad!”

I sighed and got up. “Kenzie that’s enough!” I said sternly. “You will be staying here no legoland for you!” I was so mad “you apologized to Tessa now!” It’s like when Tessa and I were good Kenzie was acting out but when Tessa and I weren’t she would be nice.

I didn’t know what to say. “Umm,” I looked at the boys “breakfast is done for you guys, let’s get the table set .” I felt bad for him, and kissed his cheek “give her time to adjust, it’s probably worrying her that she won’t be the baby anymore.”

I nodded. Everyone went to eat but Kenzie and I. “You need to apologize young lady and you won’t be going till you do!” I said going to join them. I was so mad why did she have to say those things.

“Hey, Kenzie, your breakfast is going cold and I ordered you something special." I said looking over to her on the couch. "You like pancakes with blueberries right?"

she nodded, slowly standing up from the couch. "sorry Tessa." she said quietly and sat at the table.

leaning into Greg, I placed my hand on his arm “I have somewhere I really want to take you tonight for dinner. A restaurant I know you’ll love.” it was a steak house, where they served the raw steak on a stone plate in front of you, and you could cook it yourself to your own liking.

“Oh I thought we were eating at the gala?” I said surprised. It didn’t matter to me really I just wanted time with her. I looked around and smiled everyone was eating and looked happy all but Kenzie but she said sorry so I can’t be to mad now. I was excited about tonight I will buy all those naked photos of her!

“Well there will be food there, but I thought we could have dinner before we go.” He didn’t seem to excited so I thought maybe he didn’t want to go. “We don’t have to though. It was just an idea.”

I grabbed her hand. “No way I want to see this surprise baby!” I kissed her and then started to eat. After breakfast we got ready and I had a talk with Kenzie she was to give Tessa a hug and say sorry one more time in order to go with us. She did and now we stood watching the kids they were loving this. “Thank you tess they really like this.”

“It’s nothing, I asked my boss what kids like to do and he gave me the list. I’m quite clueless with things like that.” I smiled, “soon ill have one of my own to learn about all of these fun things they get to do.”

I smiled. “Well you did good by asking I really appreciate you taking them in consideration I don’t know many who would.” I didn’t know by experience but I’ve heard How step parents can be evil.

“So marriage?” I raised a brow with a smile “just don’t rush anything. You need to be ready, and so do your children. Remember, I’m not going anywhere.” There was no way he could get rid of me

I smiled. “No rush and I’m glad your not going anywhere you have a house being built that needs to be decorated!” I winked not sure if I mentioned it or not that I had them working on it now.

“Oh really? You want my help decorating the inside?” I smiled. “I’m sure I can do that.” I leant in and whispered against his hear “I’m going to suck your dick tonight.” We hadn’t done oral stuff before and I really wanted to give him this.

I closed my eyes . “You can’t say stuff like that when we are out like this baby.” I moaned pulling her to me and kissing her. “I want you to be the first and the last woman I go down on.”

“I like the sound of that.” I smiled, my arms around him. I was so nervous about the gallery, wondering if he would like the pieces or not. We done more lego stuff then went shopping for his suit. Oh my god when he walked out after we both had dressed back at the hotel my jaw dropped “someone is definitely getting laid tonight.” I grinned, eyeing him up and down. “You look really good.”

I couldn’t speak I was in all st her beauty. I wanted to show her off but at the same time cover her up as well. I cleared my throat. “Fuck your beautiful.” I groaned. Wanting to just hurry things up so I can bed her.

I’m not really a black tie event girl but I tried.” I walked over to him and kissed his cheek “but first we eat, which I am Excited about.” We took some photos together and then walked to the restaurant. “Now you can teach me how to cook the best kind of steak.” I smiled as we took our seats.
