He lives a sheltered routine life, used to order and schedule. That’s how it’s been since his wife passed. Before she died, they had the same routine and structure. Sex was for pregnancy and straight forward. His children, well mannered and reaching their early teens. 

She’s free spirited and clumsy. Travelling the world one month at a time. Her parents died and left her a trust fund for her to experience life at its best. She knows no schedule, and enjoys living. 

A job takes her to a small town, where she is to take photos of the beauty she finds. Renting a small house next to a large property. She goes over to introduce herself and finds the man less than pleasant.. but it doesn’t bother her and she soon finds herself annoying him for help each day.

How can he let someone new in his life when he had lost his only one. Everything she does, says, wears.. he compares it to her and when they become something more, he finds himself still saying she’s doing things wrongly.. can he let go of his past, and become something more with the future? and when he discovers old diaries in the attic that details a sordid affair with her ex boss, is it too late to see what he could have had.

“Meat eating- Wait what?” It hadn’t occurred to me that I wasn’t on anything and he came twice on me. I half smiled “you want to make a baby with me Greg? Because I want one with you.” I said walking further into the water.

I fell in love with you on that walk up here watching you work, then when you told me take my clothes off I knew I was doomed.”

“You better not, and 3 nah I think 4 or 5 with you would be perfect!” I entered her and kissed her but got this weird feeling we weren’t alone I stopped the kiss and looked around not seeing anything. It was so weird.

“Do you feel that too?” I said quietly. “Because I swear I heard someone before but wasn’t sure if it was the workers or not.” I kissed his neck, trying not to look but was glancing around “4 or 5? That’s a lot.”

I smiled. “Workers are gone today, and yes 4 or 5! I’m guessing that’s how many times it will take to get the meat in your system to want to eat it all the time!”. I winked and started to move. “Could be a animal baby.”

I snorted laughing “You’re going to keep me pregnant just so I eat meat.” I shook my head and tugged on his hair “you’re insane but so hot.. I think I might give in on my one baby only rule.”

I moaned, trying not to laugh about his meat remark as I rocked faster against him and came. We swam around more and I still felt like we were being watched but I brushed it off to my own worries. We laid out in the sun naked, and ended up making love twice more which was probably a record for us then made our way home before the kids finished school “are you going to tell them? I sighed. “You know even before I was thinking about it and I think they need to know but they need to know it doesn’t matter to me. I want them to know I’ll fight for them. Chad is mine, I’m not really worried to much about him but the others specially Kenzie she is who I worry about.” I looked at her. “What do you think I should do?”

“I don’t know, it’s a hard one to talk about but I think they probably need to know, I mean I know you love those kids but there’s also a man out there who is missing out on being a father.” I said quietly. “I need to find a dress to wear.”

I knew she was right but it hurt. “I love you tessa I hope I’m not doing the wrong thing by telling them. It’s going to be hard so if you want me to wait till after the wedding I will!”

“No, you tell them when you want to. We’re still getting married regardless.” I kissed him, and smiled “You also need to write another book, and I need to start on dinner. Wednesday’s are casserole night remember.” I winked. “I’m not eating it, but I’ll gladly cook this for you four.”

I laughed. “Make jokes baby but it does help to have meals planned!” I smacked her butt and then looked around what the hell. I swear the hair on the back of my neck stood up like a warning that someone was watching.


I watched her with him, he was never this way with me? I need to see the kids then I’m gone I thought but then they had to talk about marriage and I can’t let that happen. This wasn’t the plan.

“I’m sure it does. You know what comes after meal planning? Sex planning and there’s no way I’m letting us have a sex schedule.” I grinned biting my lip “after today I am beyond sore, hopefully we may have created a little someone.” I gazed down at my flat stomach wishing I was still pregnant. “I hope the house is big enough for these five unborn children.”

I laughed. “Oh it will be!” I said and smiled. Walking inside and going to my office. I needed to write and I had some what of a new idea a bit of truth in it too, with the whole kids issue.

I cooked their dinner, placing it in the oven. I made myself my own, and then sat down to go through the photos and working before the kids finished school. I heard their laughter as they ran up the driveway to the back porch. “Daddy were home!! Tessa! We’re home!”

I heard them say daddy and it broke my heart. I walked out and smelled the food. “Smells good, hey kids. Get your homework done then wash up for dinner!” I kissed each one and told them I loved them watching them walk off.

The atmosphere felt different, and dinner was more quiet. “So we’re getting married Saturday.” I smiled trying to think of something exciting to talk about.

Kenzie looked at us and then said. “Can I be in the wedding?” I smiled. “I’m sure if it’s okay with Tessa then it’s okay with me. I know I want you boys standing with me!” I felt like I was going to lose it

“Sure, you can walk with me.” I smiled at her. “We can go and get dresses tomorrow after school.” I suggested. She beamed “can we call you mommy after you’re married?” I bit my tongue, feeling bad.

I sighed. “I need to tell you kids something. I got a call earlier today and that call doesn’t change anything for me. I love you all the same and I want you to know that. But I got the test results back and well, Kenzie and Tom Fred nor I are you me father, we don’t k ow who he is, but if you want we can find out. If you don’t then I’ll be as I am now, chad you are mine.” I looked up cursing Mary. “I’m sorry about this kids but like I said it does t change anything and I won’t be mad if you want to try to find him okay. Tessa and I are here for you always.”

Chad stood up with hate “this fucking sucks!” He stormed off. I sat with no idea what to say. I was afraod for them all. Kenzie began to cry and ran to her room and then Tom stood up and ran off. I reached over and squeezed his hand “you really married a disgusting whore who had no concern for how screwing every man around would hurt the children. She’s no mother and I honestly have no idea how or why you still have her photos on the wall.” I stood up, hating how the kids were so hurt. “I’m staying at the cottage tonight. I can’t be in this house right now I’m sorry.”

I sat at that table for I don’t know how long. Finally getting up to clean. “I felt like everyone was made at me. I went to talk to Kenzie first. Once I got her to settle I went to toms. He was really upset but then he was better. Last I went to chads. “Hey cane I come in. “. He nodded. “I was wondering if you wanted to help taking down those photos of her, I know you said you didn’t want any and I just can’t look at them right now. I’m sorry son I had no clue. I don’t have answers for any of you, all I can tell you is that I love you all and I’ll always be their dad as wel.”

I took a bath, soaking in the tub but heard Mnoise outside and thought it was Greg. “Greg?” I called out. Somehow the silence scared me. I quickly got out, wrapping a towel around my body and grabbing my phone - please tell me you’re outside walking around and not at yours? I’m terrified right now - I changed as fast as I could, and went to make sure all the doors were locked. I noticed the backdoor open and then heard a noise from inside the house and that’s when I panicked more. I ran barefoot over the rocks and gravel to his house, not caring how much it hurt or that I had to jump a fence and tripped. “Greg!!” I shouted getting back up and running into their house, breathing heavily.
