She went to her first party, expecting a fun time. What happened, would leave her with a permanent reminder of that night forever.

He was young, stupid and out for a good time. His friends tell him a girls hot for him in the bedroom upstairs who likes it rough.. Drunk and horny, he fucks her.. Not realising she's drugged, half passed out and mumbling no. He didn't realise what he'd done until it was too late.. So he left, thinking he'd never see her again.

Years later, in a grocery store.. He's back in town and they bump into each other. He doesn't recognise her at first. When he goes to leave, he notices that the little girl beside her has his eyes and it all comes crashing back to him. He wants her.. He wants to be there for his daughter.. The only problem, she has no idea he's the one who done to her all those years ago that left her with a child.

Will the guilt eat him up, making him finally confess?

I smiled. "Well my neighbors cat just had some not so long ago you wanna check them out let me know." Yes I knew the perfect one the little girl around Emma's age showed me them one day and there is this one grey fluff ball who seems really cool.

"really? That'd be great." I smiled, finishing off my burger. "how's your dad doing, when will you see him next?" I asked seeing some people enter the park and I grew nervous. "hey, did you want to go for a walk?"

I gave a small smile. "I'm going to go later tonight and stay there with him tonight. From what my sister said only time will tell." I looked at Emma. "Sure we can go for a walk as soon as she finishes." I smiled and looked at her. "Hey what's wrong?"

"Nothing.. it's silly.." I couldn't exactly tell him that the guys over from us had spread the roumers about me being a slut and not knowing who the father of my child was.. even it I didn't know. "I hope he gets better, it must be hard seeing your father in there.. if there's anything I can do, let me know." he'd been so kind to us, the least I could was offer my support back.

I smiled. "You can tell me why you look scared? Because my father being in the hospital scares me and I can tell you saw something or someone that scared you just now." I said not likely it one bit.

"I'd just be more comfortable if we went for a walk.." I.was ashamed that I was intimidated by them. "I don't want Emma to hear what they say about her, they told everyone she's the child of a.." my eyes began to water as I whispered "whore." 

"careful, you don't know where she's been.. Might want to go get checked out.." one of the guys smirked as they approached "hey we're only looking out for you bro.." the other grinned

I gritted my teeth I knew those voice they haunted me every since that night. I stood up and picked Emma up. I wasn't going to make a scene "I agree maddy lets go and get Emma home." I kissed Emma's head and then helped maddy and kissed her too. When I turned I saw the shock and gregs face he knew, he knew it was me and by the way he looked at me and Emma he knew she was mine but then he smirked and that caught me off gaurd.

"Awe look who it is boys!" He smirked more. "If it isn't our old buddy Asher! Let's fill him in on his little girlfriend here." They all laughed. "She is a druggy whore who doesn't even know the truth about the girls father! The little girl is going to end up just like her mother a whore who spreads her legs all around town." They all laughed.

I place Emma in Maddys arms and rushed to stand in front of Greg toe to toe. "Don't you dare talk about maddy like that and don't you dare talk about my daughter that way either! You all know the truth about it! You guys need to grow up and leave them alone!" Fuck they all looked stunned I just admitted that she was in fact my daughter. Shit maddy. I couldn't turn around.

"She has your eyes buddy old pal, you mean shit!" They all laughed.

I turned and saw the recognization on Maddys face when it hit. I just fucked up.

I was breathing so hard. I couldn't. No he couldn't.. But when I looked into his eyes, they were Emmas staring back at me. "no.. You're not.." I began, feeling my throat closing up. "how could you.. You knew! You knew all along and played me! I let you into my house and.. You had Emma, I trusted you with her!!" was this some sick joke. I held Emma tighter, tears rushing down my cheeks. "you stay away from me. From us!" I turned, running off with her clutching my arms. I couldn't believe this. That he was Emmas father.

I watched her run off I tried to go after her I hated this I hated how she thought of me. I went to my truck and called my sister and told her. I was a mess she tried to comfort me but it did nothing I tried calling maddy but that did no good. -maddy please let me explain please.- fuck I really fucked up. I went to the hospital and kept glancing at my phone with no hope I told dad again and still no hope there. -maddy please let me know you and Emma are okay please-". I begged over and over. I sent my sister to drive by and she told me Maddys car was there and she saw Emma playing outside. A few days pass and still maddy hasn't called or texted me back but I called and texted her every chance I got. -I'm so sorry maddy I should have said something please give me a chance to explain, please-

I couldn't handle him calling and texting me. I silenced his number and pushed him out of my mind. I tried to anyway
 For two weeks I had struggled. I was a mess. He was the man who'd taken my virginity but given me Emma. It didn't help that she knew he was her father afyer hearing him say it and she would ask when Ash could come for dinner. Her birthday was in three days, and I had realised I couldn't ignore this. Nana told me to follow my heart, and my heart wanted him but I just couldn't. I unblocked him, all the texts came flooding in. After reading each one, I nervously typed a message back. - Emmas birthday is Saturday. Just a small lunch, you're welcome to join us.- maybe he'd given up and left town.

I was sitting with my father who had recently woken up the day before when I told him everything this morning he was very disappointed in me. I heard my phone ding and looked at it. I looked up and hopeful eyes of my father and sister. "She invited me to Emma's birthday." I smiled. -maddy thank you, I'll be there.- I said and smiled more. "That's good right?"

His sister smiled back "yes but maybe you should be careful, she obviously wants you in Emmas life, but maybe not hers.."

I sighed. "I know but it's a start I can at least be there for Emma and maybe maddy will let me back in once she sees that I'm not going to take Emma away. And maybe she will hear me out and learn to trust me too." I can only hope. My father sighed.

"Boy I told you those boys were no good. Even though a good thing came from this which is Emma! I still can't believe you didn't see she didn't want it." He shook his head. "But I would love to meet my grand daughter so maybe you could ask her to bring her in sometime or at least when I get home."

I smiled. "Sure dad of course."

I was nervous for the party, of course it was only gran and I with Emma. I'd gotten her a dolls house and tea party set, I had forgotten to look for a kitten which had upset me. Emma was outside playing with her dolls as I iced the cake
 Nana sipping her tea "how do I act around him?" she asked, she knew what had happened. I shrugged,.not even I.had a clue how to act "just be yourself." I said as the oven went off for the pastries.

I was at the pet store picking up down things for the kitten when it dawned on me what if maddy changed her mind. Shit I texted her -I'm at the pet store picking things up for the kitten I have for Emma, but I wanted to make sure it was still okay- I hit send and then typed another message -you can tell Emma the kitten is from you if you want too- I hoped she didn't care I just wanted them happy. I walked through the aisle picking up whatever I thought she needed. Before I went and bought some toys for Emma as well. If maddy said no then I would be the owner of a little kitten.

I read the texts that came in, a small smile played on my lips. "he brought her a kitten, and some things for it.. Maybe I should tell him no, it's a bad idea.." glancing out the window and seeing how happy she was, I knew she wanted to see him. I typed back -see you soon." God I felt a mess of nerves.

So I guess it's okay. I collect what I needed and then headed to her house I was so nervous as I rounded the corner and say Emma I smiled I was happy I got a chance to see her today. I pulled in carefully and saw Emma light up. I got out and left the car and car stuff in the truck but got the other stuff out. As Emma ran over to me I smiled. "Hey princess, happy birthday let's go inside okay." I smiled and looked up to see maddy at the door. Damn she is beautiful.

My heart was pounding so hard. I was so nervous to see him and now in the flesh, I felt sick. "Hi" god how lame did I sound. "It's nice that you were able to make it." I said as Emma ran past, babbling on about what she got for her birthday

I smiled. "I wouldn't miss it." I looked st Emma and then maddy. "If you want me to go at anytime just let me know I don't want to cause you any hurt than I already have. But I really do hope that one day you'll let me explain things. But for now know I am not or never will try to take her from you." I needed her to know that. "I do want to be there for her though and you if you need anything." I held my breath waiting for her to respond then decided. "but today is about her so later when your ready just call or text me okay."

"she knows your her father. She has questions that I don't know how to answer but under no circumstances is she to know about that night." I never wanted my daughter to think she was her because of a rape. I looked back to her as she played happily "don't ask to take her anywhere. I don't trust you like I used to anymore." I said quietly, still hurt from him not telling me and letting me fall for him.

I nodded. "I understand." I said shyly. "I know I'm not in any position to ask for favors but I have to ask this one thing. You see my father is awake and doing much better I told him what happened and he would like to meet Emma and you. If you don't want to take her to the hospital he said he would be glad to wait till your ready and when he is home as well." I looked up hopeful she would be okay.

"seems like you've already discussed it." I mumbled, then realised that was rude of me. "look, this is a big deal. I could either be a bitch and tell you that you're to having nothing to do with her, which believe me I have always said.. But I'm not a mean person, and the last thing I want is for Emma to be hurt. This is big for her, and I don't want to have her shown off to meet everyone that's new. I've been her family, it's just been me raising her and loving her.. And the fact you had your sister here when you knew.." stopping, I wiped my eyes "how could you do that, you knew and I bet she did too.. Just give me time because letting you inside my home again, and around my daughter is all I can manage for now."

I was hurt a little. It I understood. "No I mean I did with my pa but I wanted to ask you, look I'm sorry I'm new to all this too really I can go as soon as I at least say happy birthday to Emma. I really don't want to cause any trouble with you. You can believe it or not but I care about you both." I didn't let her respond as I walked over to Emma and sat with her while I could feel the daggers across from maddy. I smiled at Emma. As she looked happy to see me.

My mood had gone from bad to worse after our little conversation and I hated it. I wanted to be happy today. "How come you're my daddy but don't live with us?" I heard Emma asking him.

I glanced up at maddy. "Well everyone's family is different just like ours." I sighed not knowing how to say anything to her. "That doesn't mean your mummy and I don't care for you Emma because we do and we would both do anything to protect you and make sure you know your loved." I said as my phone went off. I looked and it was the hospital. My face paled. I stood and answered "hello yes this is him, what do you mean he was just fine when I left this morning, yeah okay I'll be there." I hung up and looked around the room all eyes were on me as the tears just left my eyes I saw maddy staring. "I'm sorry princess Emma j have to go, my daddy isn't feeling so good right now and he needs me, I'll call your mum later to say goodnight. I kissed Emma and walked out of the house.
