Rayla was at one time in love with Nick. They both were a really good couple, really close. Then it was like someone took that image and ripped it. He became mean and distant and a little controlling. Rayla isn't sure if he noticed this, but she wonders if this may be why he left her. For a long time she was heartbroken, but 5 years later she meets Jack. Now Nick is back and she has decide who she loves.

R: I gave her a quick once over before giving her a small smile. "hi." I said back. "well I guess I'll getout of your way, let you get on with your night. I'll talk to you later Nick." I said as I started making my way to my house. I glanced back over my shoulder at them two before I pulled out my phone. I went back to the message that was sent to me and studied the picture. It took a moment for me to realize that she was who they were looking for. I quickly sent a reply giving them Nicks address.

N: I didn't say much of anything. It seemed a bit strange that she was sitting outside waiting for me. Any other time she would text or call me. Then I realized my phone was back at the cave with our clothes. There was no way I was going back for it. When we got inside I rushed up to my room and grabbed one of my duffle bags and began throwing important things inside. I made sure to grab the box I kept money and other items inside incase of emergencies. I wanted to be out of here as soon as possible.

I stood inside waiting quietly.

"okay I believe I have everything we need. But how are we going to leave without a car. I think I'd be a bit risky to take mine." I said as I quickly changed my clothes.

"Jack will be waiting with one." I said. "If not he's left and I know a salvage yard where they actually work."

I nodded and grabbed our bags. "come on. I have a feeling they aren't too far away right now." I said as we went down the steps. I stead of going out the front door we left through the back. I took a quick look around and made sure no one was watching before we continued on.

I followed quietly behind him.

"where would Jack be?" I asked her.

"Just outside of town. We agreed the meeting spot should be convenient towards the salvage."

"lead the way." I told her.

I nod and to him and take him to the area w chose.

We made it there with no problem and she began looking for Jack.

I went around and looked all over. I found his note and sighed. "He already left and I need to text him for his location."

"first let's find a car." I suggested.

"I know, that's what he expects." I said. We go to the yard and I go look for the car and I find out and I run into the building and steal the key quickly without being noticed then come back.

We climbed into the car and put everything inside. After getting the car out of the lot quietly and undetected. I started it and began to drive away.

I sat in the passenger's seat and was texting jack.

"anything?" I asked as I took a quick glance over at her.

[Mizho Sohma]

"Yeah, he's already in the next town over, and just met the border to cross into the next state." I said.

"were you going to stay with him?" I questioned.

[Mizho Sohma]

"Um, actually he said he'd call us when he made a stopping point and since we're behind him I figured we wouldn't meet up until we were far enough away to make any plans on staying somewhere." I said.

I nodded and continued driving. "How long do you think we'll be able to stay here until they track us down?" I asked curiously.

"We only stop when we need food, and that's to go or from convenience stores, and we don't stay more than one night until we are completely clear. Which could be a few months."

"I think I can handle that. And it should be safe if we use cash for everything. I believe I have enough to hold us over and I have some in my account as a back up."

"That's how I've had to live since I was 12. I didn't know about it then because I was held in basically a parents arms with them. I was by no means raised by people who actually knew about it, or by these people. But they owned the town, and made it a community for others like me. Who died out and are now gaining their numbers again. Werewolves were not in our group because you guys never really die out when you breed out rather than in. Anyways, this town was what I knew as home. All my friends were there and my foster parents, who I loved dearly. Then one day, another cabal found us, and they burned down my home. Killing my parents, some of my friends, and very few neighbors. My forest and animal rescue center, all destroyed. My best friend Adam, he was a psychic, he warned me not to go back. But I did, I felt I had to see what was left of my home. Before the fire my entire age group was gathered in a helicopter that crashed in the water on it's way to Vancouver, only half of us survived. When we got to the island it seemed everyone was gone, but they weren't. We barely made it to the town. My house was on the outside, but it no longer stood there, just a pile of ash. And the animals in my center never were able to get out because they reached my home before there was any warning......" I said.

I reached over and held her hand in mine as she spoke. I knew it was hard for her to tell that story. I brought her hand to my lips and kissedit softly. "we'll make it through this, I promise."
