Your dads best friend is definitely not the type of man you should be attracted to, or even think about. But when he's only 35 and single, not to mention completely hot, it's hard not to let your eyes wander.. my parents had me when they were young, a accidental teen pregnancy.

I came back from college for mid term break.. not being home for 3 years. And in that time, my body developed and I went from being the curly chubby haired geek to the total opposite. I mean, my parents hardly recognised me. So imagine when I go out with my old friends and meet a total babe, we hit it off instantly and soon ended up back in his bed.. unbeknown to both of us that we were going to be having a family dinner together Sunday night with my parents!!

“Ok.” I smiled watching him walking away. I heard the door close and waited a few seconds before the tears rolled out. My life was ruined. I hated it. I hated that I’d lost everything for choosing the man I loved.

As I walked down I called my buddy and asked if he was looking for a intern, he was so I gave Humberto Abigail’s info I told him to wait a few days maybe a week before contacting her and he agreed. He said if the firm wanted before she was pregnant then he would definitely want her regardless. I smiled hoping I did a good thing. I grabbed my stuff and walked back up to her room walking in I knew something was wrong. “Abigail baby talk to me please, I know your upset but just tell me what I can do to help. I hate seeing you like this.”

“Nothing. You can’t do anything.” I sniffed. “I’m just emotional and hormonal.” I hated crying so much. “I’m not blaming you, I just really hate this... how am I even going g to be able to care for a baby?”

I pulled her on my lap as I sat down. “With help from me and your mum and your friends.” I kissed her. “Hopefully your father too.” I just held her as she sniffled I hated this. I really hope he comes around she needs him as well.

“I thought if I ignored the fact I was pregnant then it would go away, and I was able to focus on work and my goals but instead it’s all turned to shit. I don’t even know what a baby needs. We’ve been together for two weeks the most and somehow we’re raising a kid for the rest of our lives, we could hate living together or you decide you need someone smart who’s got her life together.”

“Stop right now. Your are so smart Abigail so don’t ever say something like that again. You don’t have to worry about me leaving you. I won’t not by my choice anyways. If you choose you don’t want me that’s the only way your getting rid of me.” I kissed her. “Everything will turn around you’ll see everything you have worked for will be regconized be someone.”

I nodded, resting my head against his chest and just closing my eyes “do we have two nurseries?” I asked. “What about when the baby is born? Will you be there too or just waiting outside the room?” I had no clue about anything.

I smiled. “I will be where you want me to be, I would love to be with you every step from here on out but only if that’s what you want.” I sighed. “As far as the nursery I guess that just depends on where you will be living at that time.”

I nodded “hmm true, have to see if I’m allowed back home. Mum wants to go shopping for things, which is good I guess because I’m clueless. All I know is that they need boobs and diapers.”

I smiled. “So your going to breast feed him?” I loved that. “That means I have to share these lucious beauty’s with him for a while, I’m a little jealous babe!” I smiled and she laughed a little it was good to hear.

“Of course I’ll breastfeed, well I’m hoping I can.” I stretched my legs out. “I need coffee. I’ve cut back to a couple a day from like 30.”

I laughed “Okay Let’s get ready then go get some coffee before dinner.” I really hope that went okay. She needed it too hell I needed it too as well.

As we walked into the restaurant my heart was beating so fast I didn’t see her parents so either they weren’t here yet or weren’t coming.

“When is it considered rude to order? Before they arrive?” I grinned checking out the menu. “I’m having the spaghetti and bread with a glass of whiskey.” I rolled my eyes “kidding, I’m totally not drinking ever again.” I leant in to kiss him.

I smiled. “Good, I’m going to cut down myself too.” I said and grabbed her hand “I love you regardless of what happens Okay.” I felt her tense and didn’t know if it was my words or her parents. I hoped it was the second.

“I love you too. I’m in this, all of it with you.” I promised and looked up to greet my parents. It was a start that’s all that mattered.

I looked at him. “Okay from the beginning, I never once thought of Abigail in any way other than a niece as she was growing. As you know I haven’t seen her in some years.” I looked at her then back. “I went to the opening of Zane’s club as I help design the new place, I was there having a few drinks then was going to take off. That’s when Abigail came up to the bar. I didn’t recognize her at all I know how that sounds I
But it’s the truth. We started talking I knew she was young but I swear she looked about 24 or 25. She didn’t look like herself at all.” I smiled at her. “So we were talking then we went to the dance floor and yes one thing lead to another I asked her several times if she was sure, come on Josh’s you know me better than to think I would take advantage of a girl. You know how many woman I’ve been with you know everything, I even told you about the girl I was with the next day! If I knew it was Abigail you really think I would have told you! Anyways. I never told her my name she never told me hers.” I paused as the waiter took our orders and then continued. “When at you house for dinner and she came out of her room I really thought I was going to be sick. But as dinner went on I grew more and more upset with me. I wanted to tell you everything but I also didn’t want her in trouble for going underage drinking. I left your place with knowing I wouldn’t be able to have her. What I felt the night before I wouldn’t be able to have. I went to her window to tell her this much I practically did and then we went on the drive and I thought it wasn’t goodbye. I was going to go home and drink my sorrow away. We both agreed nothing else could happen.” I squeezed her hand. Seeing if she wanted to add to it or if I should continue.

I nervously began to speak “when I left to go back to college, I didn’t go back.. I went to see him, to say goodbye but the minute we looked at each other, we both knew that this was more than what either of us were expecting and so I stayed there for two weeks. I know I lied to you and I felt awful but you can’t blame me, I’ve never dated or been with a boy. My feelings were and still are like a truck in my face crazy in love with him. And yes, I was stupid for getting pregnant and throwing everything away, he never knew about the pregnancy and found out yesterday just like you both did, that’s because I was terrified. This isn’t some silly crush. We’re not moving in together or rushing to get married. We’re taking it slow and it may be stupid to do with a baby soon coming but we are.” I said looking at them.

Josh looked at them both and nodded. “I appreciate you telling me all of this, and I understand how hard an attraction can be to resist but it doesn’t mean I’m happy about it. I’m aware you lost your internship, so you’ll come home and live with us. I can give you work at my company to do, and-“ He looked at Kash “if you want to date my daughter, then I have rules. No sleepovers in my house. I don’t want to see or hear you two doubg anything other than talking or holding hands at the most. You’ll treat her with respect and be there for this child because god forbid you hurt her, I will break your neck.”

I smirked. “If I hurt her, you better put me in the ground!” I said laughing but I was serious. “I’m all serious I understand and I will do my best not to hurt her and our son!” I said beaming I was so happy. I pulled her in for a hug and smiled. “So anyone for dessert?”

“No im full from bread.” I smiled somewhat relieved but still anxious.

My mum spoke up “were leaving in the morning. I take it you’ll drive down yourself, I’ll set up a room and clear the spare one out for you to crest a nursery for once the baby is born.”

I smiled loving that it was working out for her. I nodded at josh letting him know I wanted a private word with him. I settled the check. “We will go get the cas for you ladies and meet you out front!” I had to tell josh about what my friend said. As we got further away I said. “First I want to say thank you for doing this for her, I have no right I know but thank you, second Umm the job thing, when I found out I called a buddy and he is actually looking for someone he just ipened his law firm with his wife a year ago and things have taken off. I told him about Abigail and he wants to call and see if she would like a intern possibly a full position he said she has to be good if the other lawful firm wanted her.” I sighed. “I just wanted to let you know that when he calls it’s her choice but I’m trying to make everything right for her she deserves everything to be right.”

He nodded and then stepped closer “what I done in there was for my daughter, to help her out because I love her but as far as I’m concerned, you and I.. we’re not friends anymore.” He narrowed his eyes “you crossed the line and there’s no going back. My daughter is my daughter, but you.. you’re dead to me. I have nothing to say to you again and don’t expect anymore dinners. You’re not welcome at my table.” He turned and walked off to his car.

I figured as much. After that was said I wasn’t in a good mood I was upset he was like a brother to me. Years of friendship gone. I walked to the car and pulled up just as the woman walked out I got out and helped abi in. I know she could tell I was upset. I didn’t want to upset her though. We drove to her dorm in silence. Once inside her dorm I sat down and watched her change.

I put my pyjamas on, climbing into bed as he laid on the covers beside me. “Are you going back to the hotel?” I asked unsure, it had been silence since we left and I didn’t know what had happened since he and my dad talked.

I sighed. “Nah I figured I’d stay here and help load your stuff up and follow you home. If that’s okay.” I sighed. “I probably will just help unload and take off though, I’m not really welcomed at his house.” I said feeling the tears fall from my eyes. I hated it. I knew I would loose him.

“Oh.” I whispered. “Maybe I could come over to your house if you wanted?” I wondered if he’s changed his mind about us. Was this too much for him? “I love you.”
