I had pulled on my shirt and leggings, standing just as dad walked in. He took one look at the bed and shook his head “is this what you really want?” He asked. Karen offered a smile “I’m sorry baby. We have to go now but I will call.” She kissed her cheek and walked out.

I looked at him. “If you really want to know then we all sit and talk about like adults if you really want her to be happy you will hear us out then if you still want no part I can’t make you but for her sake I hope you can at least be there for her!” I started to turn. “Dinner at 8 if you show up I know you still care if not I guess I never really knew you at all.”

I laughed. “I won’t stoop to that level. I just blasted him for what he said to you. He started asking questions and I told him if he wanted the answer then we all sit down like adults and talk he listens to us if he still feels the same then he can go fuck himself if he wants to be there for you I won’t stand in his way but I’m sure as hell not baking away from you or our son. So I told them if they want dinner at 8. We can text them where.” I pulled her to me. “Sorry I just don’t want you to loose him.”

I kind of understand where he’s coming from, I mean I’d probably feel the same if my friend was screwing my son.” I would probably kill them. “Anyway, I got a call from the lawyers I was going to internship at, turns out they can’t have me, being pregnant and all. They need someone who’s not going to take time off or work herself into exhaustion and then try sue them.” All my dreams were crashing down. “So I’m jobless and possibly moving back into my parents if my dad allows it.”

I held her close. “They are idiots, you will get another job beautiful. If your dad won’t let you you can move in with me.” I hated this it was all my fault. “I’m so sorry I ruined your dreams and I’m so sorry your hurting but I can’t be sorry that your pregnant with our son.” I just couldn’t be I already loved him.

I looked down and saw our baby for the first time. “Wow!” I said not knowing anything but I didn’t care This was our baby. “We should get ready for dinner and figure out where to go?”

“Italian. Pasta and bread sounds so good right now.” I grinned. “Mum knows about the internship and that I’m it going anywhere now, she was going to talk to dad about it. Or more like ask him to let me come back there. Hey, you’ll be able to pick me up from home for these dates.”

I shook my head.  Or I will be able to pick you up from my house or I’ll pay for a apartment if you want that!  You won’t be homeless beautiful.  Text your mum and tell her the name of the restaurant.”  I kissed her and smiled she was trying to look happy but I knew she was hurting and hurting bad.  I knew just what to do about it too.

I took my phone out and sent mum a message “i Don’t need you to get me an apartment. I have money, I’m not broke or anything.” my dad hadn’t taken my trust away yet and hopefully he didn’t. “We shouldnt Move in together just yet. It’s too fast for that.”

I smiled. “I know I don’t have to but I want too.” I pulled her to me. “I take care of what’s mine and you and our son are mine.” I kissed her. “I’m going to go get my bag from my car and get some different clothes Okay I’ll be right back.”
