Rayla was at one time in love with Nick. They both were a really good couple, really close. Then it was like someone took that image and ripped it. He became mean and distant and a little controlling. Rayla isn't sure if he noticed this, but she wonders if this may be why he left her. For a long time she was heartbroken, but 5 years later she meets Jack. Now Nick is back and she has decide who she loves.

I thought about it then told him.

I called room service and put in our orders. "think Jack would want to join us?" I asked after hanging up.

"I'm not sure. He seems to be against us, somewhat. I think he's angry with me for forgiving you, and you because of what you did to me," I said.

"oh, right." I shrugged and went to get something to drink.

I nodded and sighed. Jack was complicated.

"which way are we heading tomorrow?" I asked coming back with a bottle of water.

"North, sort of. I think that we can throw them off by heading back towards Vancouver, and make a trail that seems like we're going home," I said.

"sounds reasonable. I think it could work. But we'll just have to see."

"It's possible," I said.

Moments later room service showed up with our dinner.

I sat down in the living room after we got our food.

I turned the tv on and found something interesting to watch while we ate.

"did you ever think we'd get back together?" I asked not really looking at her.

"I hoped we would, but never thought," I said.

"same here. But after awhile when I started to accept the fact that you had moved on, I guess that's when I was willing to change." I said honestly.

"Yeah, I wasn't really moving on. I just decided to accept that you and I would never be any good for each other, as a couple. But with you changing, I think it will work out. Of course I didn't want to change you because that's not right in a relationship of any kind," I said.

"you're right." I agreed. "I felt if there is a change it should be made voluntarily not forced. I guess that time away from each other helped me to see that and accept what I was too afraid of the first time.

"Good, because it's important," I said.

"you're right it is." I said shifting a bit to get more comfortable. "come on let's get some rest, we have a long day tomorrow.

I turned the tv off and took her hand in mine as I led us back to the bed. Before climbing in I changed into some shorts and left my shirt off.
