I smiled “sounds good although we should be done by then!” I winked and saw Andy come and see me wink shit. I felt bad. I should have the same y’all with him I just did with Tom or maybe Tom will tell him I don’t know. I can see how confused he is. He reminds me a lot like me. Macy and Tom have that carefree vibe just like jayde.

“It smells great” I moaned, wrapping my arm over Andy and kissed his cheek “you should help, you enjoy cooking too.” I then went to take a shower and noticed strawbun my hair. God how embarrassing

I smiled at Andy. “Would you like to help?” I thought he’d say no but he looked as though he wanted to. “If not it’s okay, but if you do then grab the bread and splash come butter and toast them up in the stove!” I always loved eating my sandwiches on toasted bread.

“That’s how I make them” he grinned “Mum thinks
Weird” he laughed buttering up the bread next to him.

I walked out, and saw the kids and him making lunch and smiled “well look at you Lot.”

I smiled. “We are just finishing up, so take a seat and we will bring everything to you, Macy go ahead and sit down to, we men can treat you two like the princesses you are!” I winked at her and smiled she was beautiful and looked happy. Macy ran over to her and sat next to her. “Wait till you try my daddy’s food it’s good!”

“Oh I know” I said without thinking. “I’ll bet the drinks ready, you kids can put a movie on if you like.” I suggested reaching for the glasses

I smiled “yeah she likes your favorites too Macy! In fact I think she might like them more!” I laughed. “No way I love your shrimp and lasagna! I like that she likes your food daddy and she likes to do things with me unlike mummy.” It killed me because that woman isn’t her mother not after seeing that photo of jayde as a little girl.

“Wait when did you have his food?” Tom asked with a smirk like he caught us.

Smiling. “When we worked together at the school I would make too much food for Macy and I as piper would work really late. So I took all the extra food to work for who ever wanted it.” I winked at jayde.

“And of course I love good food, so I put my hand up for some.” I smiled to myself knowing how we spent many lunch breaks together sharing lunch and coffee.

“Why don’t you work there anymore?” Andy asked. “Why change then if you liked it.”

I wasn’t sure how to answer him. “Because it didn’t pay enough to be able to afford everything on my wage.” John paid for nothing.

“True, thanks mum. You’re the best.” Tom gave me a

Her boys were good. I smiled. “You could have asked me for help.” I said knowing the real reason she left. “Or you could come back I know Sarah said she would pay you more!”

“I could come back, I might talk to her and it wasn’t your responsibility. I’m managing ok.” Yes sure, my savings were almost gone and the kids had sports and all sorts coming up. I just struggled this time of year.

I nodded. “I know but your my friend and I’ll help you if needed.” I looked over at Tom and smiled. “So do you boys get good grades? Do sports? I played basketball back in my day and also football.” I changed the subject because I didn’t want her uncomfortable.

“We play soccer, basketball and do lifesaving.” Andy answered. “We done piano and guitar lessons but stopped last year.” He looked up at him “that’s how you get the girls, being multiskillef.”

Laughing. “Being yourself and respectful helps to.” I liked how he was starting to open up to me. “I use to play the guitar I’m sure I still remember some things.” I looked at Macy. “And I play piano too! But my mummy said I wasn’t aloud to do sports because she says thick girls aren’t what the men want. But I love to play basketball with my daddy!”

“What?” She’s a child. “Thick girls? Don’t ever think that. People like kindness and looks don’t matter, trust me. You would rather be known for a nice personality than your looks.” I couldn’t believe it. What had this woman taught her. “And hey, I have thick legs and I still got the boys,” “You said dad was drunk.” Tom grinned I laughed eyeing him “ahh do you want to clean the house for a year.” I blushed because their dad was right beside me

I smirked. “You told them I-“ fuck I looked at them as Tom had food hanging from his mouth and Andy looked upset. Shit I looked at jayde. “I-I oh god I’m so sorry.”

My shoulders slumped and my heart pounded as
Andy shook his head “He’s our dad?!” I walked towards them without anything to say, this wasn’t how I wanted to tell them. “I don’t know- we just-“ that sounded worse. “We didn’t know.. I didn’t know until-“ I felt sick as I looked at them and Macy was eating her sandwich without a clue what was happening. “Yes he’s your dad.”

I sighed and walked over to them. “We didn’t know, we really just figured it all out today.” I looked at Tom. “Your mum and I wanted to get a test to make sure but to me it doesn’t matter, I would love to be your father regardless. You both from what I can see are amazing boys. But y’all look like I did when I was your age and then Tom mentioned something and I had memories of telling your mum she is my dream girl and giving her my hat before leaving.” I felt like crap.

“And what about your wife and Macy? So we’re all just going to live together and be one big happy family? You haven’t been around! You know nothing about either of us!” He shouted back and stormed off to his room.

“So that’s why you’re together now? You just left the people you married to be with other people! That’s cheating?!” Tom groaned and went after Andy.

“Just leave him, let them go.” I placed my hand on his arm to stop him. “I think we need to visit the doctor and let them come to terms with this.”

I sighed. “I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to it’s just it caught me off gaurd.” I looked over at Macy who didn’t have a clue as to what was going on. “Maybe I should just take Macy home, I don’t want to cause problems. Or more problems for you and them.” I wanted to scream or cry I just didn’t know what to do.”

So you think leaving is the answer?” I asked hurt. “Do what you want, but remember if you leave after telling those boys you’re their father then you may as well it come back in their life.” I said through tears. I shook my head, letting the tears come as I walked to the bedroom and laid down silently crying. What a mess this has become.

I looked at Macy. “Macy princess can you go find the boys and sit with them for a little while.” She nodded and took off. I walked into the room jayde went. “Jayde that’s not what I meant, I won’t leave them or you. But I don’t want to make a mess of things right now, they hate me and have every right to hate me. I don’t know what to do or say to them, hell I didn’t know they existed till today. This is all so new for all of us and I am a idiot for telling them that way.” I sat down next to her. “We need to sit down and have a talk with them.”

“Yes I agree. We need to sit and talk about everything. I’m not sure what this even is, maybe we just keep a friendship for the children’s sake, it’s a lot to take in and I don’t want to confuse them anymore. They come first, what you or I want isn’t as important as them being happy.” I hated saying it because I loved him but they kids mattered more

I nodded. “I think we both need to end our marriages and get to know each other as friends before anything and make sure all the kids are okay with it.” I wanted her and I will fight for her but I will back off a little for now.

“That sounds so scary and definite.” I sighed. “But you’re right. I’m leaving my husband, I don’t love him and I need to be happy.” I sat up wiping my eyes. “I’m going to stay here for awhile, I need to talk to the boys about school and work. What about Macy? What if I’m her mother? She has a mum. I have no rights for anything.” As much it killed me, I didn’t know what he wanted from this

I looked at her . “You’re right she has a mother, we need to get a test for her as well, you are a wonderful mother to the boys I know you will be to Macy as well. Piper isn’t her mother never was and she doesn’t deserve to be. I’m not going to stay with her when I want you.” I leaned down and kissed her. “We will take things slow okay.”
