Reception didn’t come back on our phones until we were twenty minutes from home and then I didn’t see the point in calling. We pulled up outside our house and I saw empty beer cans scattered around the ground and a smoke packet. I don’t think the car had been switched off before I was jumping out and walking towards the front door. I saw lily on a couch asleep and the house trashed with food and alcohol everywhere. I spotted two of the boys outside on lounge chair sleeping and the other two eating a bowl of cereal in their boxers “I see you had a wonderful night.” I said calmly, scaring them. “Shit mum! She is to clean the entire house on her own.”
