“What the hell am I meant to think when you come to me practically crying and saying you fucked up.” I snapped “of course that’s going to be the first thing that comes to my mind.. the procedure failing isn’t your fault, sometimes they don’t always work so how is that your fault?” I sniffed, sitting on the bed with the kids and holding them. “You always assume I’m pregnant when upset or mad.. it’s like that’s the only logical explanation because god forbid I just can’t be mad with you like I actually am. And I have every right to be upset about you having a vascetomy, but you jumped at the chance to rush off and have it done.. message loud and clear. Maybe you should have had it done years ago.” I glared “now I said get out and leave us alone.”

I shook my head. “No! This is my house just as well if you can’t be a grown up and see my face then that’s on you.” I looked at Lenny and saw that he was upset. “And I know your pregnant, I know every time or have you forgotten that?”

“Trust me I am not pregnant and if I am, don’t worry about it Tanner. You’ve made it clear of you’re desire for more children.. I promise that you won’t have to worry about more coming along.” I laid down, holding my babies and crying. “Just leave.”

I was pissed . “No!” I said and paid day my back to her not leaving cause she said so. This was my bed too damnit and I wanted to sleep.

“Some welcome home this was.” I muttered under my breath, my eyes stinging as I closed them, but I couldn’t sleep. I just silently cried.

I laid there awake knowing she was awake too but I had nothing to say I was upset I knew she wanted more but I didn’t and I felt like a dick but hell im getting old I can’t keep doing this. When she was gone it killed me taking care of Lenny and willow.

I got up around 6am, making sure the kids were tucked in and safe from falling out. I hadn’t slept and just needed coffee. I noticed him laying there awake and rolled my eyes in the dark. I wanted to punch him so hard in the mouth. “Stay the fuck away from me today, or I will fucking hurt you.” I seethed, wrapping the robe around my body and walking out.

I had to laugh as I said “I’d like to see you try baby.” I didn’t know if she heard me or not and didn’t care. I ended up moving the kids to their beds without waking them and went for a run. I couldn’t believe this.

Just his laugh irritated me. I wanted to hurt him so bad. Fuck him and leave scratches all over his chest. Well this was fun, the kids were in bed and it was raining. Good hope he got soaking wet. “Enjoy the run.” I grinned to myself as I saw him while I went to the lounge room, put on a movie and laid on the couch with ice cream.

“I did actually it was quiet and much needed as I couldn’t run while you were on holiday.” I glared. I went to the kitchen and grabbed a drink taking my wet shirt off and heading to the laundry walking in front of the tv on purpose. Yeah eat that char.

I rolled my eyes, such a pretty boy but damn I loved that body. “there’s a mirror in there, bet that’s the only reason you can even find the laundry.” I called out, licking the spoon slowly and teasingly

“Ha that’s funny, your pregnant daughter is at her home you can go rub on her belly tell you start showing!” I said and went back to the kitchen to get some food. I didn’t care I was wet I came back and sat in the couch just to annoy her.

His words hurt, and I sat there until I couldn’t take it any longer. I wanted him to hurt the way I was. “Actually I’ve called my friends, were going out Friday night. Probably won’t be home until early Saturday morning, depends on how much I drink.” I shrugged “I’ll be going to see lily soon, and then next week I am seeing my doctor, I’ve already discussed having a hysterectomy with her.”

I shook my head. “You can’t drink when you’re pregnant so you may want to take a test before you go out just so you know I’m right! And maybe after this pregnancy you can have that done!” I got up pissed she wants more kids but then plans to go drinking that’s just great.

“Well you know what, I don’t want another baby with you. I’ll be making sure to take care of it if I am because I can’t think of anything worse.” And more tears came on. Why did I bother coming home? Maybe I shouldn’t, or maybe it wasn’t the kids that were the problem.. it was us? I couldn’t stay here and cop the brunt of his anger towards me. I was being punished soft something that wasn’t even my fault and that just took me back to where I used to be with a man who spoke to me like I was nothing. Sinking to the floor in the shower, I just cried and cried.

I stayed in my office not wanting to deal with anymore. Did she really just tell me she was going to have an abortion. This isn’t my char, she has changed since going on holiday what the hell. I yelled so loud I’m sure whoever was home could here. Then I threw my computer breaking it. I was so pissed

I jumped at the loud bang, I walked into his office and spotted the computer broken on the floor. “Well done. Smash something else next time. You know, I don’t know why you’re so angry at me for? You’re blaming me because you assume I am pregnant, which I am not because I have my period.” I lied. “And all because you forgot your fucking appointment. You’re acting like I tricked you! How the fuck is that fair?” And I grabbed the trophy of his and thew it at him, it missed and I grabbed another “I haven’t done anything wrong!” I threw it, and missed again. “I haven’t done anything wrong!!” I screamed louder, repeating myself. I swing my hand and hit them all off the shelf, cutting my hand but I didn’t care, I was so angry. I picked up our wedding photo and threw it to the wall “not again! I won’t do this again!” I screamed, storming out and slamming the door so hard it rattled.

I just stood there for I don’t know how long. What the hell was going on. I wasn’t blaming her why did she keep saying that. I didn’t go to bed that night instead I slept on the floor in Lenny’s room. Or tried to slee I know she is lying about being on her period I know she is pregnant. I don’t get why she doesn’t believe me.

My phone rang and it was Gunnar telling me lily was in labour. I got up, quickly rushing around to dress. I passed Lenny’s rooms and scoffed “dramatic much. Lily is in labour. I’m meeting them at the hospital.” I said flatly and walked back out and into the bathroom to re wrap my bleeding palm.

I jerked and got up. I ran to the bedroom and got ready then ran to Tom “watch the young ones lily is in labor!” I ran outside and thought fuck I better wait so I stood there waiting on char as she walked out I glared. “You shouldn’t have done that to your hand while we are there you should get it looked at.” And have the doctor run a pregnancy test too I thought to myself.

“Don’t act like you give a shit.” I muttered. “Maybe you can go get your dick fixed when we get there.” I snapped back. “Not that it’ll be touched ever again.. by me anyway.” I added just to piss him off

I rolled my eyes. “Dramatic much!” I said opening the door for her. “Just get in this isn’t about us it’s lily and I made a promise to be there for her as I have been the last few months.”

His words were like a slap across the face. How could he throw that back at me? The look of hurt clear in my eyes as I stayed silent and turned, I refused to look at him. The drive to the hospital couldn’t have gone any slower. I felt sick, my heart heavy and broken as I made my way into the hospital. I no longer had anything to say to him.

They had lily back in the room and I was pacing just like I did for the quads it was nerve racking I was going to be a grandpa wow! I looked over at char I could see the hurt but damnit I was hurting too . I looked back at the hall lily is in and started to lace again.

I got up and went to check on lily when the doctor walked back out, I didn’t care if he was behind me or not, my focus was calming her and Gunnar, poor boy looked like a nervous wreck. “It’s ok, soon you’ll both have a new little baby to love and you’ll forget all about the pain you’re going through. Remember at the end of this, you’ll be holding your daughter and she will be the only thing in this world that matters to you both.” I kissed her forehead, taking her hand.
