“Umm that we need to be careful and I agree, I’m way too young to have a baby.” I nervously laughed. “Anyway, Let’s get some sleep.” I leant in andnkissed him but felt something wet on my lips and frowned sitting up to turn the lamp on “Gunnar your nose is bleeding, I’m calling an ambulance.” I said reaching for my phone

I tried to reach for her. “Baby no it’s okay I’m just tired. Just get me a towel and I can clean myself up. Then maybe you should go home and rest. I’m fine really. I just need some sleep too.” I needed to get ahold of Noah and see if he can find me a doctor around here or get his dads doctors info.

“Why won’t you let me help you? You’re in pain!” I sat up, slightly hurt. “You wouldn’t have me at the doctors by now, I just want to help you. You don’t seem well and I’m scared.”

I sighed. “Hell yes I would have had you there by now, but I’m fine really.” I sat up best I could and pulle dher to me. “It’s not that I don’t want you to help me lily baby it’s just I’m fine really.” I prayed she believed me but I wasn’t sure she was to smart for her own good.

“I don’t know, you had a pretty bad nose bleed.. you haven’t gotten out of bed all day. You can barely speak.” I didn’t think he was ok but if he said he was then I had to believe it. “Let’s just get some sleep, I’m tired and you should rest”.

I nodded and pulled her to bed with me. Holding her but not able to sleep I had to tell Noah, he was the only that knows about my head injury, he is the only that knows that headaches aren’t just headaches for me. I kissed lily gently. “I love you lily.”

“I love you too.” I smiled, closing my eyes. I just hoped he wasn’t lying to me. I barely slept, too worried about him. I woke early, going to the bathroom and taking a shower while the kettle boiled.

I got up and texted Noah. -hey man I’ve had a killer headache and it isn’t getting better I need you to get your dad doctors info, and no I haven’t told lily anything about this so don’t say anything- I placed my phone down and saw lily walking in. “Hey there is my beautiful lily pad.”

“Hey, are you feeling any better?” I asked, with concern in my voice. “I hope so otherwise we’re going to the hospital.” I said as seriously as I could as I laid down in the bed with him.

I smiled. “A little, but really it’s okay I’m okay. I just want you in my arms baby.” I held her and smiled. “I want this always.” I kissed her head and tried not to wince when I moved.

I didn’t believe him for a second. “I’m going to go soon, I have work.” I pulled away slightly, and wondered who he had been texting when I walked into the room and he put his phone down in a hurry.

“Oh I didn’t know you had to go in today. I’m probably going to stay home and rest.” I said and kissed her. “I love you.”

“I didn’t have to but it’s clear you don’t want my help so I’m just going to leave.” I said hurt as I got up off the bed “I’m going to make you some breakfast, you should eat something.”

“Lily baby I want you here trust me. I just don’t think I’m good company, I love you.” Fuck she was upset and I hated this.

“Well stop shutting me out, I’m trying to help and you’re making it like you don’t want it.” I sighed, glancing down at his hand on mine. “I’m worried about you, I just want to help you. So please, let me make you some toast?” I asked with a small smile.

I nodded, “Okay that sounds good.” I smiled a little, “I am sorry for making you feel that way it’s not what I wanted and I don’t want you to worry cause I’m fine really.”

“Ok I’m glad.” I smiled with relief. “Anyway, I thought if you’re feeling a bit better we could leave the bedroom and go to the couch? Or not, we can stay in here. I have to send my things in today.”

I smiled.  “I’m so proud of you lily, you’ll make an amazing lawyer.”  I didn’t want to get up but I didn’t want her to worry so I tried my best to look okay getting up but by her face I didn’t do so well.  Once on the couch my head was pounding and my nose started to bleed again.  “Shit.”

“That’s it. You’re going to the hospital.” I wasn’t taking no for an answer this time. I looked around for my bag and grabbed a heap of tissues “hold these to your face, I’ll drive us there.”

I sighed. “Call Noah and tell him to be there please.” She gave me a look. “I don’t want you to be alone okay just please call him.”

“Why?” It hurt that he didn’t want me there at all. He just wanted anyone else but me. I sighed and just nodded anyway. “Ok. I’ll text him.” I text and drove to the hospital. I stood staring at the door when Noah closed it behind him after they took Gunnar into a room. I couldn’t believe it. 

“So what’s going on?” Noah asked

I looked st him. “I can’t tell her about it, she will worry about everything, I just have been having mild headaches since moving here then the other day it was bad, I think the tumor is back.” I looked st the nurse and she shook her head like you idiot the her. “Your sister means everything to me and I don’t want her to put off her school or do something she we regret because of me, I want her to be happy she has been through to much Noah.” They hooked me up and told me they would be back tot take me to get a scan soon. I looked at Noah. Begging him.

“Your call.” He sighed not liking it. “What do I tell her then? She’s out there. I’m sure she’ll want someone’s blood if I don’t go out there soon.”

“Just tell her they will be runny some rest and that i need rest. Let them take me to the scan and then she can come in okay” I sighed. “She’s already been through too much if it’s back I don’t know what I’ll do, I just I don’t want her to give up anyt-“

Gunnar couldn’t finish his sentence as he started to convulse, Noah panicked and yelled for help. As a team came in one nurse ran back out and came back with a syringe once Gunnar settles they didn’t risk anything they took him straight to get the scan. The one nurse stopped by Noah. Saying “it’s not my call but I think she deserves to know and I also think ishe will need her family by her side all of them maybe you should make some calls to help you with your decision to tell her.” She then walked out with a wink.

He ran a hand through his hair and sighed. Mum and dad were out on a date and I knew he didn’t want to tell her but I couldn’t lie to her. I walked over and sat by her side, “Lily, Gunnar has a brain tumour.. it went but it’s probably back now and that’s why he’s gotten headaches and nosebleeds. He didn’t want me to tell you.” 

I glared “what!! Why wouldn’t he want me to know?! I would be there for him and help him.” I was so hurt he could keep this from me and lie. “Don’t worry Noah, I won’t say I know.” If he didn’t want me to then I wouldn’t act like I did. “I just hope he’s ok.” I said staring at the wall fighting the urge to cry
