After the scan then took him back to his room still sedated. The nurse walked out and saw Noah sitting there with a beautiful girl which made her jealous because she liked Noah and has for a long time she hated that he didn’t even know who she was. Then it hit her who the girl was and she was impressed by his sister. Walking over. “He is back now, he is still sedated but you both can go back now.”

“Great. I’m not leaving his side.” I said to Noah, pushing past him in a hurry. 

Noah rolled his eyes “I wouldn’t dream of kicking your out.” He looked at the nurse “thanks.” And walked off following lily into the room.

I laid there hearing beeping and then opened my eyes to a angel. She looked worried. “Baby I’m ok, don’t worry.” Looking over seeing Noah he wouldn’t look at me and I knew, I knew he told her.

“Just rest Gunnar.” I said quietly, leaning forwards and taking his hands as I rested my head on his chest. “I love you so much.”

I tried to smile.  “I love you to and I’m sorry.” I hated the look in her eyes.  I shut my eyes and heard her sigh.  I just wanted to hold her.

“Save your apologies Gunnar. They mean nothing to me right now.” I said quietly, tears spilling from my eyes as they ran to the bed sheet. “Just rest.”

I nodded I knew I hurt her I knew I fucked up but I also couldn’t fight my eyes from closing. My last sight always of her crying.  

When I woke later the doctor had justbwalked in Noah was gone and it was just lily and myself.  I didn’t want to know what was going on.

“”Ah good your awake?  Can we talk about your condition Gunnar?”  I nodded I knew lily knew and if she didn’t she would now.  “Okay well, as I’m sure you know that the tumor has grown and this is why your having headaches again.  It’s a good thing your girlfriend brought you when she did.  I want to go in and take it out,  you know the risks as I see in your chart.  I’ll give you today to decide I’d like to do it in the morning.”

Take the tumour out? That was a huge surgery. I sat up, fumbling with my fingers as the doctor left and I looked over to him “what are you going to do?” I asked quietly, after what felt like hours of silence. “Will you have the surgery? Does that mean the tumour will be gone?”

I sighed. “Maybe you should call parents.” I looked down then back at her “come here let me hold you and think about this I need you to help me with this because I love you and well I need you.” I said not wanting to cry. “I just don’t want my parents knowing because they will blame themselves or not care to even come.” I pulled her to me and held her. “It’s a serious procedure, but if I don’t have it, the tumor can keep growing and I could die. The last time I had this discussion I decided not to because it stopped growing, but with how fast my symptoms hit this time I don’t see it slowing down.” I kissed her head. “What do you think I should do? What do you want me to do?”

“I think you should have it, because if you don’t then you’ll end up dying anyway, and you need to fight Gunnar.” I tried hard to keep it together. “This is your decision and whatever you decide i will be here with you.”

I kissed her head again. “I want a life with you lily promise me we can have a life together and I’ll fight for you for us.” I wanted this I wanted her. “Tell me I didn’t screw up by not telling you everything? I love you lily.”

“You should have told me. I’m mad at you, but you’ll suffer the wrath of that once you have surgery and we’re home.” I said with humour in my tone. “I love you, I’ll go and call your parents now.”

“Lily please don’t call mine, call yours. Mine won’t care. And let the nurse know that I need to tell the doctor okay.”. I sighed not wanting her to leave. “Hurry back.”

I sighed, calling dad but his phone was switched off. I rang his parents, they needed to know and they were on the first flight out. I walked back into the room, where the doctor was already and sat quietly back down.

I nodded at the doctor and looked at lily wondering if she had any questions. “Hey lily do you have anything to ask or want to know about this?” I just wanted to include her with everything from now on.

“No I’m good.” I didn’t know what to ask. It was all so much to take in. Knowing he’s had this and lied to me. It hurt me more than I’d let on right now. “Umm, when will you do the surgery?”

The doctor smiled at her. “1st thing in the morning.” I smiled at the doctor and thanked him. I looked at lily and knew she was upset. “Baby y’all to me I don’t want to go into this knowing your upset with me and that I hurt you I know I did and I hate it but I wanted to protect you and I didn’t think it was this bad. I’m so sorry. If I make it through this I will do everything to prove to you that I am so sorry and I won’t ever keep things from you.”

“No you won’t ever keep something like this from me again, I’m your girlfriend.. you wouldn’t even tell me the truth and when things got serious you wanted my brother and not me. How would you like it if I shut you out and lied to your face?” I had tears down my cheeks as I wiped them away “you’ll have surgery, and then you can sit through a jersey shore marathon with me while you recover and don’t even think of complaining about it.”

I smiled and laughed for the first time in a little while. “I will watch whatever you want without complaints as long as your happy. Now come here I want to hold you.” I helped my arms out and she came to me. “Did you get ahold of your family, your going to need them when I’m in surgery. It’s a long process.”

“No they’re on their wedding anniversary special day, trust me, No one wants to interrupt what they’re doing.” I cringed. “I’ll be fine, I’m stronger than you think.”

I held her. “You are so strong baby, I love you and and want to have babies with you! I want to marry you and be your everything.” I kissed her and smiled. “Forgive me please!”

I couldn’t hold back my smile as I shrugged “maybe” I winked and kissed him “I love you oh i called your parents and they’re on their way here”

I groaned.  “Why I told you not to, they are just going to make things worse baby, just me they are going to spend the whole time fighting and not caring about me.”  I wanted to be mad but maybe this always my payback.

“They’re yours parents. You need them, as much  as you don’t want them here, you need your parents and they were worried when I called.” I didn’t know why he was upset for. “If they fight then I’ll kick them out, trust me, I will.”

I groaned. “Baby I love you, but just remember what I said when they get here it won’t be pretty. They will blame one another and it will get ugly. I love them just not together in the same room.” I kissed her head. “Will you stay with me here tonight?”
