Old life... New love..

He lives a sheltered routine life, used to order and schedule. That’s how it’s been since his wife passed. Before she died, they had the same routine and structure. Sex was for pregnancy and straight forward. His children, well mannered and reaching their early teens. 

She’s free spirited and clumsy. Travelling the world one month at a time. Her parents died and left her a trust fund for her to experience life at its best. She knows no schedule, and enjoys living. 

A job takes her to a small town, where she is to take photos of the beauty she finds. Renting a small house next to a large property. She goes over to introduce herself and finds the man less than pleasant.. but it doesn’t bother her and she soon finds herself annoying him for help each day.

How can he let someone new in his life when he had lost his only one. Everything she does, says, wears.. he compares it to her and when they become something more, he finds himself still saying she’s doing things wrongly.. can he let go of his past, and become something more with the future? and when he discovers old diaries in the attic that details a sordid affair with her ex boss, is it too late to see what he could have had.

“Of course it’s enough. I love you. But she’s back and it changes everything, how are we meant to have a family of our own when you’re married to her still.” I sat on the edge of the bed pulling my yoga pants on and heard her voice. 

“Mummy’s home kids!!” She called out, and held her arms out. “Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere. This is still my home after all and I’ll be staying here to be with you three and daddy.” 

I looked at him, tears spilling or faster “I won’t say what I want to say because I know how much the kids have missed her so I’m going to stay in a hotel while she’s living here with you.” I wanted to tell him to choose but would never do that.

I shook my head. “She won’t be living there with me! No way in hell is she and I living under the same roof!” I said and then the door opened and slammed I looked at chad. “I want to go with Tessa! Sorry don’t want to be here with her!” He said and I looked at Tessa. Then Tom came running in and wrapped his arms around her too. “See Tessa you can’t leave baby please!”

“don’t use them to get me to stay.” I said quietly. “You think I want to leave? I don’t those kids have a mother who is back and clearly isn’t going anywhere. Are we all meant to live in the same house as some happy expended family? I want to go to bed with you, and not worry she’s going to walk in.”

I looked at her. “I will not let her stay here. If she is then we come with you!” What wasn’t she understanding. I sighed. “Please let’s figure this all out baby, let me call my lawyer and see if I have the rights to kick her out! I should it’s all in my name not hers. Please!”

“Fine.” I felt like I was overreacting but this was meant to be the day we were getting married. I was disappointed more than anything. “I’m going for a walk, just figure it out while I clear my head.” I sighed, getting up as the door opened and she walked in. 

“Finally, I get to meet the woman screwing my husband.” She crossed her arms over her chest “I’m glad you’ve taken such good care of him, you know I really did miss making love down by the waterfall where we always used to. We made plans to build a home there, it has such a special meaning to us both.” She looked at Greg “picnics and laying naked in the sun were our favourite.”

“What the hell are you talking about- then it hit me. No don’t!” Turn it I looked at Tessa. “She was watching us and is trying to ruin everything tess baby!” I walked over to her wanting to hold her but she stepped back. Then walked out. I turned to Mary. “You need to get out now! You cannot stay here!” I grabbed my phone called the cops and told them she was trespassing everyone knew me here and knew what she did. I just hoped they could get her off my land. I needed to fix things with Tessa and call my lawyer.

I felt broken. Tears down my cheeks as I walked outside and walked, taking a drive to town and grabbing a coffee and pastry. I could easily walk away, and just move on. We weren’t married, and the kids had their mother back even is she was evil. But they had become my family, those kids I loved and I loved Greg more than anything. I came back to the house and walked up on the back porch, I could hear them yelling at each other like crazy and stayed there with the three kids who had come outside. “How about we go and look at the new house we’re going to live in? Put your shoes on and let’s go.” 

Mary shook her head angrily “if you do this, I’ll go to every reporter I know and tell them about you, your books and everything! I’ll air every dirty secret you have and trust me, what will your girlfriend think about that? You’re nearly 40! Do you really want more children who will be 10 and you’re a 50 year old man struggling to play with them.” She laughed bitterly “Do you think she will want you then? When you’re old? She’s going to do the same and go look for someone her own age.”

I shook my head. “Leave! It doesn’t matter if she will want me or not we are done! You need to leave or the police will take you out!” I couldn’t take it any more she was bar shot crazy! “Seriously you can’t tell anyone about me being who I am you signed a agreement!” I laughed. “You most think I’m so stupidly d cause I didn’t know the real you well guess what I’m not the same man I was back then! Get out now!”

“I’m not leaving my house.” She screamed picking up a vase as throwing it at him, just missing his head. “I love you! I made a mistake!! I want us back! This family!!” 

The kids and I could still hear them yelling when we walked back, I told them to go and play in their rooms and walked back inside “Greg, were getting married in half hour. Get your hair done and I’ll be meeting you down at the waterfall.” I looked at her, and then him “I spoke to my lawyer, he said your marriage is still dissolved and if we marry then that’s the one will count.”

I smiled. “Damn! Remind me to give your lawyer a bonus!” I walked over and kissed her. “I love you tessa I can’t wait.” I turn d an dlooked at her “your call Mary leave or be escorted.” I then went to finish getting ready. I couldn’t wait.

Mary stood there watching him in the bathroom hurt and angry, shaking her head at him “you loved me. You said you could never love another. I’ll leave Greg, but you will regret this. But you only have one son, the other two will be coming with me. You have no rights to them!” She said and rushed getting them in her car. 

I really hoped this was what he wanted. I went and dressed again, and not waiting, I walked down to the waterfall alone, and waited hoping that he would be here soon.

Chad and I walked down I hated that the others couldn’t be here. But I had to marry Tessa today or I would lose her. I smiled seeing her she was beautiful I was so ready for this I looked at chad. “We will get Kenzie and Tom back.” We got closer and closer and once I was next to her I didn’t care I grabbed her and kissed not carwing we still needed to say our vows.

I wanted to ask where the other kids were but deep down I knew. Taking both his hands, I promised to love him always, be his and his only, support and encourage in good times and in bad, and to be there for whatever struggles we may face. I was crying, tears of joy as we exchanged rings and accounced husband and wife. Finally we kissed and I was so happy to be his wife. “I love you.” I smiled, and hugged Tom, kissing him on the cheek then threw my arms around Greg “I know today has been hard for you all. Just know you won’t have to face it alone. I can’t wait to start a family with you.”

I smiled. “I can’t wait either.” I pulled chad to us and smiled. “We need to find a way to get Kenzie and Tom back. I don’t like them with her, she is um-“ I looked at chad and he shook his head. “Crazy dad! Just say it it’s the truth she is crazy. I’m worried about them.” I sighed and looked st Tessa. “You deserve more today.”

“Well I’ll admit it wasn’t the wedding of my dreams and it was pretty much to get you away from her but that’s ok.” I would have loved something nonsontished and romantic and solely focused on us but he was worried about the kids and I needed to support him. “Lets go back and order pizza.”

I grabbed her and kissed her. “I know your upset and I promise I’ll make it all up to you okay!” I was so making it up. I kissed her again. “I want to get you pregnant Tessa I want a child with you now!” I said not wanting pizza at the moment just her!

“What about Chad.” I blushed glad he didn’t hear him say that. “You can’t just leave him alone and stay in the bedroom for ages.” I bit my lip “He needs a tv and Xbox or something. Give him your iPad so he can play games.” I ran my fingers up his chest “I want you now.”

I smiled. “God I love you.” As we got back I gave chad my iPad and took Tessa to bed. “Tomorrow we buy a tv and whatever else he needs.” I said laughing and kissing her.

I laughed, unbuttoning his shirt “we don’t have to have a baby this soon if you’re not ready for one.” I moaned kissing down his chest “I mean, yes I want to be pregnant again but I understand you’re in a difficult position.”

I shook my head. “Not difficult when your beside me. I love you tessa and I want children with your, I’m not getting any younger here.”

I looked up at him, frowning slightly “your age means nothing to me. We don’t need to rush out a baby because you’re nearly 40, or are you worried about that?” I asked slipping my hand in his boxers and gripping

I sighed. “I’m not worried about it no I just want to be able to play and enjoy the kids you know!” I kissed her. “Okay less talk and more loving baby.”

“Where is this coming from? Because you say you want five kids. I’m not having them all close together. I need to wrap my head around having one first and enjoying hose years.” He sounded completely different to when we talked before

I looked at her. “I want five kids and we can have them whenever you want.” Stupid marry for saying shit. “I want lost of practice making them though!” I winked and kissed her I wasn’t about to bring up my ex right now.

“You’re crazy.” I laughed, falling to the bed and pulling him to me. I wanted him so bad, and I had him twice in the hour and then we spent most of the day making love and kissing. We took a shower when we remembered we had to get chad dinner and walked out. “So pizza?” I asked feeling better than I’ve ever felt.
