Old life... New love..

He lives a sheltered routine life, used to order and schedule. That’s how it’s been since his wife passed. Before she died, they had the same routine and structure. Sex was for pregnancy and straight forward. His children, well mannered and reaching their early teens. 

She’s free spirited and clumsy. Travelling the world one month at a time. Her parents died and left her a trust fund for her to experience life at its best. She knows no schedule, and enjoys living. 

A job takes her to a small town, where she is to take photos of the beauty she finds. Renting a small house next to a large property. She goes over to introduce herself and finds the man less than pleasant.. but it doesn’t bother her and she soon finds herself annoying him for help each day.

How can he let someone new in his life when he had lost his only one. Everything she does, says, wears.. he compares it to her and when they become something more, he finds himself still saying she’s doing things wrongly.. can he let go of his past, and become something more with the future? and when he discovers old diaries in the attic that details a sordid affair with her ex boss, is it too late to see what he could have had.

He looked up. “Yeah are you two done trying to make a baby!” He laughed. Then got serious. “I want you two to but I want Tom and Kenzie here with us as well.”

I walked out hearing him tell her that and sighed, “how about you order some pizza with Tessa and I’ll call and find out what I can do to get them back.” I kissed her both and knew this would be a battle.

Some wedding day this turned out to be. I smiled nodding “come on, let’s go order.” I said to Chad and sat in the couch with him. By the time we were finished looking at the take out menu I wasn’t hungry. I had keptnover thinking and felt as if he wanted this baby with me because of the younger two being taken away. “The pizza will be here soon, I’m just going to go to bed, I’m feeling a bit unwell with a headache.” I forced myself not to cry as I went to the bedroom alone, and silently cried to sleep.

Walking into the bedroom I felt like a dick. I crawled in bed an dkissed her pulling her closer. “Tessa baby!” I just needed her to know I loved her and appreciated her. “Baby if you can here me I love you and I’m so sorry I’ll make this up I promise.”

I didn’t say anything at first. I felt his arms around me and heard what he said. Even on my own wedding day it wasn’t fully about us. I wasn’t his main focus and I didn’t realise how much I wanted to be at times like this. “You screwed me for child baring reasons then left me to go spend the rest of the time talking to your lawyer. I feel used and like I’m just here to give you kids of your own. I know today was hard for you, but today wasn’t completely about you.”

I sat up and pulled her with me. “Is that how I made you feel?” I sighed and shook my head. “Tess baby I didn’t just screw you for a child. I made love to my wife.” I felt like a dick. “Honey, I love you and I’m so so sorry I made you feel like that.” I shook my head. “I’m terrible aren’t I? I’m trying to make you happy and I’m failing yet we haven’t even been married for a day! I’m failing at protecting those kids.”

Here we go. It always went back to the kids. Everything was about the kids. I sat up and shook my head “I’d like to be alone please.” I was on the verge of bursting into tears. “I understand you’re going through a hard time Greg and I get it, I really do. Unfortunately you need to realise that you’re not their father and therefore have no rights, all i asked for was one day. But just like the time I lost my virginity, it’s still always going to be about her or you throwing yourself a pity party. I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing.” I got up, grabbing my clothes and walking out to the bathroom.

I sat there in shock. I got up and decided to go for a jog. I left a note telling her I went to the waterfall to get my act together. I hated this feeling I hated that I let her down again and gain.

this day had gone from bad to incredibly worse. I heard the doorbell and went down to collect the pizzas and set them up for Chad who was still watching the iPad and playing games. “Dinner is done. Enjoy.” I smiled and ruffled his head, then went to run myself a bubble bath and over think about everything.

I came back and saw chad went to bed and I went to check on Tessa. She wasn’t in bed so I checked the whole house except the bathroom when I walked in and saw her I just knew I needed to make it all up to her. “Tomorrow we are going on our honeymoon. Josh will come and stay with chad! When packing we should pack for all weather as we will be going to a few places.” I walked in a little more. “May I join you?”

I looked up at him, wondering if he was just sucking up. “We don’t have to go anywhere.” I said quietly shifting forwards in the tub. “You can come in but don’t think you’re getting sex in the bath.” I sniffed “Chad told me what Mary said, about you being too old to have kids with me so that’s why you’re rushing to have them.” I turned my head not wanting him to see me crying

I sighed. “It hurt yes, but I don’t want to rush anything with you, I love you and I want to have forever with you. I will make it up to you and I will make you happy I promise you that.” I turned her to look at me. “Please stop crying, I already set the trip up and talked to chad he wants you to be happy too.

“You have to stop making it about the kids. You don’t see it but by adding things about them at the very end, it guilts me and I don’t like it. You have to stop doing it because they’re children.” I said quietly. “I don’t know how you’re going to make this up to me, but I gave up so much to be here with you. My job, my goals and dreams and wedding.. everything I have done is to make it all easier for you.”

I never thought of it like that. Damn. “I’m sorry, I can’t te you how sorry I am.” I kissed her cheek. “I’ll work on it okay and I will make it up to you. This honey moon is going to be all about us.”

I half rolled my eyes glad he couldn’t see. “Oh really? Can you tell me where we’re going and how long for?” I asked leaning back against him.

“It’s a surprise you’ll find out our first destination tomorrow night at the airport. But nothing else!” I kissed her head again. “This will be good, I’ll make sure.” I started to rub her shoulders. “No baby talk not kids talk no ex’s talk! Just us baby!”

“Will the house be finished by the time we’re home?” I was still worrying about his ex and the mischief she would create for him whilst away. “I didn’t mean you can’t talk about your kids. I’m not that evil, i just wanted some romance that’s all.”

I smiled. “We will be able to come home and live there yes but it won’t be all the way done. And I know your not evil! I love you and I will romance you and if I stop you snap me back into shape baby.” I kissed her head. “How about I show you some romance now!”

““Fine, but no sex.” I teased pulling my hair to the side “I’ll accept a massage and maybe kisses.”

I laughed. “Okay I’ll take that.” I massages her and sprinkled kisses all over her neck shoulder and back. “I’m really sorry this day wasn’t what it should have been.”

“Well we cant all get what we want can we.” I melted against him. “Maybe you can add this to your next book.” I joked.

I sighed. “No, I won’t add our lives into a book unless it’s okay with you. I want our lives to be ours from now on.” I kissed her neck and sucked a little. “You sure I can’t make it up to you some more by making love to you!”

“Maybe, not in the bath though.” I yawned “I just want to relax for a bit longer.”

I laughed. “Okay tess.” I held her and gave her light feathered kisses letting her soak up the relation of the bath.

I was on the verge of falling asleep and needed to force myself up. “I won’t be doing much acrobatic moves tonight, I’m really tired.” I yawned again. “What time are we leaving?” I asked toweling myself off

I nodded. “It’s okay we can cuddle tonight. And we won’t be leaving till 5 tomorrow evening. Are you excited!” I aske dknwoing I was to get to spend time with just here it will be nice.
