Old life... New love..

He lives a sheltered routine life, used to order and schedule. That’s how it’s been since his wife passed. Before she died, they had the same routine and structure. Sex was for pregnancy and straight forward. His children, well mannered and reaching their early teens. 

She’s free spirited and clumsy. Travelling the world one month at a time. Her parents died and left her a trust fund for her to experience life at its best. She knows no schedule, and enjoys living. 

A job takes her to a small town, where she is to take photos of the beauty she finds. Renting a small house next to a large property. She goes over to introduce herself and finds the man less than pleasant.. but it doesn’t bother her and she soon finds herself annoying him for help each day.

How can he let someone new in his life when he had lost his only one. Everything she does, says, wears.. he compares it to her and when they become something more, he finds himself still saying she’s doing things wrongly.. can he let go of his past, and become something more with the future? and when he discovers old diaries in the attic that details a sordid affair with her ex boss, is it too late to see what he could have had.

I walked out of the room half hour later. No idea why they wouldn’t let him in, but they said only immediate family and I kept saying he was the father of the baby. I looked at him, tears in my eyes as I sniffed “I lost the baby.”

I looked at her. “What?” I wasn’t mad at her just hear broken. Would I lose her too. Pulling her to me. “Tessa baby?” I sat down and pulled her to my lap. “How, your healthy and young!” I kissed her head worried she wouldn’t want me.

“I don’t know. I really don’t know. These things just happen they said and there’s no other explication for why.” I sniffed again. “Can we get out of here, I don’t like hospitals and it’s only making things worse being here.”

I nodded. “Yeah come on.” I held her close as we walked out. “Do you want to go back to the room or would you like to go walk around?” I didn’t know what to say or do. I just wanted to hold her and tel her it would be okay. That we would get through this.

“Walk around for a bit, it’ll be nice to do that.” I took his hand and squeezed tightly “I’ll let you tell the kids, I don’t know what to say and I’m pretty embarrassed I was bleeding In front of them.”

I squeezed her hand back. “I know they are worried josh called and said they didn’t even want to play games in the arcade and kept asking if you were okay.” I brought her hand to my mouth. “We all were worried as much as loosing the baby hurts me I don’t know what I’d do if I lost you too.”

“I’m not going anywhere, and maybe one day when we’re married and madly in love we can talk about having another baby.” I knew I wasn’t ready right now, and I couldn’t tell him that. It would crush him.

I smiled. “I like the sound of that. I also like the sound of you moving in with us too.” I kissed her as we kept walking. It was nice to just get out. “I’d like to do this back home to just take time for ourselves and walk around the land you could bring your camera, we can you know make special spots of the land!” I wiggles my brows.

“It would be nice, daily walks around the land. I’d like to take a collection of photographs of us and the kids.” I smiled up at him. “For our new home, and I’m only moving in because I know you can’t be away from the kids each night.”

I smiled. “I don’t care the whys I’m just glad you are.” I’m glad she is running away as well. I kissed her and smiled. “I’m sorry for all the stress I’ve caused you. I want to make you happy Tessa.”

“You do make me happy. If you didn’t I wouldn’t be here with you.” I said and just then snow began to fall, my smile widened as I stepped out in front of him and spun around with my arms wide stretched and my head back “it’s snowing!”

I stood there watching her and making thisbmoment stick not as the moment we lost our child but the moment she looked so beautiful. “ it is, it’s downs tanow much at home so this is pretty nice.”

“Nice? It’s magical. My dad proposed to my mum in the snow, and this just makes me know that they’re watching over me.” I don’t know what else could have topped this moment. I closed my eyes and let the snow fall on me.

Watching her made me smiled. “It’s beautiful specially falling on you. You make it more amazing.” I walked up behind her and held her. “Your parents are watching over you and right now they are taking care of our child.”

“I’m going to want another baby, just so you’re not shocked when I tell you later on that I want you to get me pregnant.” I turned his his arms “because I do. I know I was scared and not ready but I know the next time I will be. I want a family with you, a child that’s ours.” I hoped he was ok with that. “But not until after we’re married, and if you’re not wanting to marry again then that’s ok.”

I smiled and pulled her closer. “I love that idea, is married and kids that our made of you and me! I want that very much, when your ready.” I kissed her hard. “Cause I’d marry you right now in the snow!”

“Don’t tease, it would be perfect.” I kissed him back, holding onto him tightly “I love you and want a life with you.”

“I’m not teasing I would marry you right now!” I kissed her. “I want a lifetime with you too tessa, I’ll need you by my side come when we are back home, I may loose these kids. I have a feeling they aren’t mine.”

“Well then ask me.. properly.” I said looking at him with big wide eyes, full of nerves and yet excitement. Was he really going to do this?

I looked around and was in luck. “Okay stay right here and don’t turn around okay!” She nodded but looked confused. “Seriously don’t turn around.!” I kissed her cheek and walked down the block and into the store picking out the perfect ring. I smiled at the clerk and knew I made their day and commission. I walked back to her seeing her in the same spot. I kissed her cheek scary her a little. “Close your eyes!” As she did I pulled her more out into the snow got down on one knee. “Okay Tessa!” Once she opened them and noticed the ring she gasped. “I love you, I know this is sudden but I also know it’s right! I want to have a life with you by myside. Will you put me at ease and marry me?”

He had a ring? I nodded, “yes! Yes of course!!” I couldn’t have been happier as he slid the ring on my finger and I smiled down at it. “Where did you get this from? It’s more than I thought I’d ever have.” It was completely me and he knew just what I liked.

I smiled. “I had to ask you properly and I noticed the store down the block when we passed and ran in and saw that one and knew it was yours!” I held her and looked up as the snow was really coming down. “I would like to think that all this snow is your parents telling you they approve!”

“I think so too.” I grinned, kissing him. “Let’s gonnsvl to the apartment before we catch a cold each,” I wanted to ask him more about why he doesn’t think the kids are his but didn’t know how to bring it up.

We walked back and I smiled at her as we got inside and shook the snow from us. “If the kids are up they will want to know is it okay to tell them everything tonight?”

“Yeah of course, I wouldn’t expect to keep it from them
When they’re this old.” I smiled, letting my hair down. “I do want to talk about something you said earlier, when you’ve said goodnight to them though.”
