Once upon a blizzard

One night during the start of a blizzard like storm a woman and her children (one boy and one girl) were traveling to get away from her ex. She had no choice she needed to get away. Her ex wa as abusive drunk who thought he owned her. She drove into a small town and was almost to where she wanted to be when out of no where she hit a deer. Sitting there in the cold not knowing what to do she looked at her phone seeing she only had a little battery left she called for help. The dispatcher said she was lucky that the fire station was close by. A little while later there was a knock on her door. She looked and was stunned by the handsome guy standing there asking if she was okay.

It was late and the snow was coming g down hard when we got a call about a woman and two children stuck on the side of the road. I was pissed that anyone let alone someone with children would be out in this mess. As we got to the scene I knocked on the window Dow and asked the lady if she was okay. She had a light bruise on her cheek possibly from the hit. Her car wasn’t on so those kids were probably cold we needed to get them to the station now.

I smiled.  “Okay, sorry I’m new to all this. I’ll plan a special date for us okay!  But don’t ask questions I want some of it to be a surprise!” I kissed her hand as we pulled up to the house. We went inside and helped each other get things ready for lunch.  It was easy with her.

“So we have some big news.” I looked from Bo to the kids to his mum. “After plenty of talking and realising some things, we’ve decided that we really want to live together and so, Bo has moved in.”

I smiled an dmy mom beamed.  “Oh I couldn’t be happier I was so afraid my boy would never love and now he has you, your such a wonderful woman for him Jane, I just knew from the first moment I met you and the kids that my bo would fall head over heels.”  I laughed as she just kept going then went over and hugged Jane.  Luca and Reid ran to me and practically tackled me.

“Careful, you both might hurt him.” I smiled seeing how happy they were. “We’re both happy, it makes sense to move in when we’re this crazy about one another.”

I looked up and smiled.  “She has a point there.”  Mybmum just smiled big.  “Oh my we need to start planning the big day then! I mean if you don’t want anything to bug I know the perfect spot, oh and my preacher in my church can preform the service.  I can make a mean wedding cake!”  I laughed “Mum calm done I haven’t proposed...yet!”  I winked st Jane a little embarrassed by my mum but I knew this is what it would come to.

“I’m sure if Bo ever asks me to marry him, that you’ll be the first person we come to for help.” I mean, I wasn’t expecting him to. I didn’t want to force anything more into him.

I smiled.  “There is no if Jane!”  I said and looked at my mum.  The kids finally got off and we all sat back down to eat.  We all ate and smiled and soon my mum had to get going.  I walked her out and she smiled and hugged me.  “Im so happy for you son.”  I kissed her cheek.  “Thank you, Hey can you maybe take the kids tomorrow all night I want to surprise Jane with dinner out and maybe a movie or something she hasn’t been feeling the best.”

“The kids mentioned a baby, is she pregnant?” She asked with hopeful eyes. “You know it would be a beautiful thing if it happened.” She smiled. “I would definitely watch those kids, even if you wanted to go away for a weekend.”

I smiled.  “Mum, you know her husband wasn’t a good guy and well he kind of made it hard for her to um stay pregnant, we lost the baby, but the doctor today said she can conceive she may just have trouble staying pregnant.”  I said sadly I didn’t want to give anything away.  “So maybe but we aren’t promising.

“Bastard.” She shook her head angrily. “He needs to be shot. I’ll pray for you both tonight.” She leantnin kissing his cheek. “Bring the kids over tomorrow with their things.” And she waved goodbye heading to the car.

I walked in and the house was quite.  I cleaned up lunch and then went to see if Reid wanted to shoot some hoops.  I was wanting to spend some more time with just him and I get a feeling of what he needed.

Luca and I laid on the couch watching a movie while playing dolls. I was tired, and full from lunch. “The boys are outside still, how about we go and play on the swings?” She jumped up and we came out to play too.

I smiled and watched them swing for a second.  After a while we all decided to go in and watch a movie before dinner.  I had to sneak away a few times to make plans for tomorrow.  I was hoping I wasn’t being obvious but she kept giving me a look.  I New she was wondering what I was doing. But I kept quiet I wanted to surprise her.

“So are you sure you’re mum is good to watch the kids tomorrow? We don’t have to go away, that’s just me being dramatic over nothing.” I hoped he wasn’t annoyed that I said I wanted romance.

I laughed.  “Oh ummm I didn’t know you wanted to go tomorrow?”  I played with her I wanted her thinking we weren’t doing anything tomorrow.  “I figured with me having to go back to work the following day that we would just relax here, I’m sorry.”

Ok I was beyond confused now. “Oh. No that’s ok, I forgot you had work the next day.” God stupid me and his annoying roster of three days. “If that’s the case then I will be doing the laundry tomorrow.”

I smiled.  “Oh okay.”  I said just to annoy her a little.  She had no clue and I wanted that.  We ate dinner and put the kids to bed.  “You okay baby?” I asked as we got in bed.  “Did I upset you by not asking my mum to watch the kids?”

“No it’s fine, I’m not upset.” I lied laying in bed and rolling over. “I’m tired, I love you, goodnight.”

Wow, she is pissed.  “Oh um okay I love you too.”  I leaned over and kissed her head and laid down Damn I didn’t think she would get this mad over it.  We slept and the next morning I called mum and asked if she could get the kids before Jane woke.  I was shocked she was still sleeping.  By the time the kids left I had breakfast sitting next to her in bed with a note telling her to get dressed in one of the outsfits I laid out and that there would be a car coming for her in two hours!   I smiled as I stood at the front gate of the zoo and waited for her.

I woke, looking over to find the bed empty except for breakfast and a note. What the? “Bo.. Luca? Reid?” I called out and nothing back. I ate breakfast, and then took a shower and dressed in what I was told to. I walked out and the house was completely empty. Maybe he’s taken them to the shop. I got in the car with nowhere to go, and ended up at the zoo spotting Bo. “Umm Bo what’s going on? Where are the kids?”

I smiled.  “Oh well Mum came and got them this morning like I asked.  We are going to spend some time here and then I have another place I want to take you.” I pulled her close.  “You still mad at me?”

“Your mum?” I laughed giving him a nudge “that’s so not cool, I was really disappointed thinking we were going to be together and you made me think you had work.” I groaned smiling “I’m more than happy”

I smiled.  “Nah as soon as you said you wanted a date then I thought what better way than to have a whole day and night date. So zoo and then we’ll i want you to kind of meet someone and then we can grab dinner and the restaurant I reserved and then a movie.  After all that we can go relax at home!”

“Who am I meeting?” I asked confused wrapping my arms around him “I’m looking forward to today.” It would be my first date ever. “You sure know how to trick me.”

I smiled.  “I tried.  And the person you are going to somewhat meet is someone special. But let’s enjoy Are day here first and then think about that later.”  I wasn’t sure how she was going to take it when we showed up at the cemetery, but I always told my brother that if I met someone I was going to bring them to meet him.
