I’m getting married! But not to him. My best friend who I have loved since I was 5, yeah I know some don’t believe that but it’s true. I remember falling off my bike and my brother laughing at me, but our new neighbor came to my rescue. He was so cute back then. I knew we would be close friends from then on. Even my twin brother liked him. But now back to I’m getting married! Yes I went away for college not to were my brother and best friend went, but is where I found my future husband we I’ll be getting married to in 6 months!

I got the invite that tore my heart into pieces. She was getting married but she wasn’t marrying me like I always hoped she would. I remember the almost kiss. I was so nervous but I wanted to kiss her so bad but her brother freaking ruined that chance. Then she was gone off to a different state to start college on her own. Now she is back and getting married.

I groaned throwing my hands up “you ask for help and then refuse help when it’s offered.” I couldn’t win. “Well I’ll be at the clinic when you change your mind.” I got in the car and drove off thinking what a mess this was turning into.

I sat there in the sand and lost track of time. Jake hated me now I could tell. I ruined everything. I didn’t want to go home and I didn’t want to go back to Kevin’s. I didn’t want to marry him but I had to if I was pregnant. Jake was happy with his girlfriend.

I pounded on jakes door. “Have you fucking seen or heard from meadow? She hasn’t been home all day and her phone is off or dead? I’m fucking worried dude.”

I opened the door with a beer in hand “Umm she was meant to go home. We went to the beach, she wouldn’t come with me back home and said she would get her own way back.” Obviously she hadn’t done.

“And you fucking left her there? What the hell werre you thinking. Kevin has been calling and pissing me off telling me she always pulls this shit.” I rubbed my face. “I feel as if she is hiding something and I hate it. She isn’t herself lately have you noticed?”

“I’m not her babysitter” I pointed out “she’s a grown woman who refused my help and I had work to do so Don’t fucking start.” I growled angrily. “Kevin is the problem she’s like this so throw your anger towards him.” I grabbed my jacket “drive to the beach. I can’t now that I’ve been drinking.”

I nodded. “Why don’t you just tell her man?” I didn’t understand at all if he loved her like I knew he did was he really going to watch her marry this other guy. “You know she feels the same way right?” I glanced at him and saw him look like he wanted to punch something or someone so I shut up.

It was a little chilly as I was walking up and down the beach still trying to figure things out.

I gritted. “She said it today. I told her to wait and she then talked about moving to the city and having his baby” I shook my head and pointed down to the beach “there she is. You go talk to her, I can’t say anything without upsetting her.”

I looked at him. “I will but let’s back up, she wants to have kids with him?” This concerned me. “Or she is having kids with him?” The way Jake said it made me think that it was the later and that’s why he is drinking.

I saw the car pull up and groaned I didn’t want to deal with this right now.

“Doesn’t matter. She’s going to marry him.” I half slurred. “I’ll marry another vet and you can finally come out of your secret relationship with James.” I closed my eyes “Well all Be fucking happy families.”

I shook my head. “That’s not true and you know it, I don’t want to disappoint my mum and well you won’t be happy with someone else I know you man, but you keep thinking that.” I got out thinking how big of a mess this was and how this ride would go.

My brother came up to me and I looked at him. “I suppose Jake told you I was here.” I wanted to be mad at him. “I think he really loves this woman.” I cried. I wasn’t sure if I was talking about Jake or my fiancé. “I think, oh never mind when I told Jake he about pushe sme away.”

I beeped the horn signalling them to hurry up. In the end, I drunkenly text Ana the vet over town and told her I needed her help. She eagerly agreed knowing how much I cared for Meadow and would be my date to the wedding. If I had to watch the woman I loved marry someone else, then I’d be drunk for it too

We walked back to the car my brother not saying a word. I got into the back and sighed I didn’t look at Jake at all. I was scared and worried he hated me. I sat quietly and then my brother spoke the words I didn’t want to hear. “I say we do a sleep over at jakes and drink sis since Jake has a head start! Like old times!!!”

“I’m up for that. I’ve got a bottle of rum.” I glanced over the back seat “oh wait.. you can’t drink.. can you.” I half muttered. “Oh well more for me!”

I glared at him. “I’d rather just go home.” I said more to myself as my brother looked at Jake then at me. “Nope we are going to jakes to drink all of us!” He said looking proud and I just wanted to die right then and there.

“Sure let’s go get drunk.” I punched him lightly in the shoulder. “Whoever spews first gets to sleep with dog!” I just wanted to drink and drink the pain away tonight

I sighed. “What are we like 16?” I shook my head not wanting to do any of this I couldn’t drink not knowing if I was or not and well if I did drink I might end up pregnant but with jakes baby. Sighing more heavily liking that a little to much. “How about you two have fun and I’ll just go ahead and keep jack company.”

“Nope not happening sis we all drink and we all have fun!” He wanted to get them to freaking just tell each other how they felt and he felt this was the only way.

“Jacks sleeping” I pointed out. “Just let her go home, Kevin’s back tonight anyway.” I said his name with distaste. “Oh you’ll meet Anna soon, she’s coming up this week.”

I didn’t want to see Kevin at all and with what he just said I glared. “Fuck it first one to throw up and the first to say they are done runs around the house naked!” Remembering we always use to pull this in my brother just to see him grimace.

“No! And both of you stop your really pissing me off now we are going to drink and have fun.” Then it hit me he said Anna and I smirked he was just doing this to piss her off.

“Shouldn’t you be doing some test first? There is such thing as fetus alcohol poisoning.” I shot back with a glare. “Run around the house naked?” I had to laugh because my house had animals everywhere. “I’m pretty sure I’ll pass out before I throw up. You’re partying with the big boys now sweetheart.”

I groaned. “Shut the hell up.” God I was hoping he would forget as he drank. We got to the house and I all but jump out. I went straight for the bathroom and cried. If I was pregnant and drank I could harm the baby I don’t want. But I couldn’t harm a innocent little one so I took a test. It came back negative and I sighed with relief I walked out glared at Jake and went straight for the rum I took it and took a big gulp. “I bet Jake loosing and passes out before we even get buzzed!”

“Won’t bother me.” I muttered and walked up beside her, taking the bottle from her “remember sweetheart you’ve got to get naked.” I winked and poured a shot

I rolled my eyes, “only way I am is if you are.” I winked back. I was only kidding and I didn’t mean it the way it came out, well kind of. I’m just glad my brother wasn’t paying attention.

I took the shot class and poured “wouldn’t you like to know!” I was a light wakeful and new this would get to me but I didn’t care I didn’t want to think or worry. My phone rang and I went over shut it off and took three more shots. “Don’t go passing out yet.”
