"what happened?" I asked shaking, I was getting more worked up than needed. "please tell me he's going to make it? He won't die.. He can't.. I need him, I haven't told him I love him.. I do I love him but I'm scared to admit it.." I said crying, my stomach hit with sharp cramp like pains which made me grip hold of his arm and hiss in pain. I looked around trying to find a nurse finally I did and they took Lila away and I felt terrible I followed and let the head nurse where I would be. As Lila laid in bed I was told that Brody made it through the surgery but might not be able to remember some things . I felt bad how was I to tell Lila. I sighed and walked in. "I heard they are going to let you go soon, that's good cause Brody is out of surgery doctor said it went well but they had to put him in a medical induced coma to help with the swelling they say he might not remember things."

"Not remember?" I asked quietly, staring at the ceiling "I hope he remembers me." I winced as I sat myself upright "I don't want you to tell him about the baby, he's going to be so upset when he finds out I lost it." I said teary. "I'm just glad he's going to be ok."

I sighed. "I hope he remembers everything I need to know what happened to him. Something wasn't right on that mission." I went to help her. "I'm sorry about the baby." I didn't know what to say we got her a wheel chair and I wheeled her to Brody's room.

"wait stop.." I said before we entered the room. "I'm not going in there in this.. I can.walk." I said standing up, ignoring the cramps. We walked inside his room and I gasped from all the wires and machines hooked up "oh Brody." I whispered, holding my tears. I needed to be strong

A few days later I kept hearing people talking and beeping. I opened my eyes to see my brother and sow mine talking when I opened them more I realized it was Lila. ""Lila!" I said but it came out as a crock more less. "What the fuck happened? Why am I in a hospital." I said as Lila ran to my side.

"Someone ambushed us at our last hostage situation, we were hoping you'd be able to tell us brother." I looked at Lila. "I'll go get the doctor, you two have some time together."

As my brother left I looked at Lila, "the last thing I remember is your mum telling me to leave and me coming back here. Did you get my note?" I asked confused she still should be on holiday.

I couldn't help but laugh softly "I did get your note, and I'm here because I love you too." it felt so good to get the words off of my chest, these past couple days have been hell. I would tell him about our baby once he was home and feeling better. Stroking my fingers over his cheek as I brushed my nose against his "I love you Brody, and the holiday was awhile ago, we're actually living together now."

My eyes shot open more. "Oh I um I didn't realize maybe they have me pumped up on drugs or something." We live together that's so fucking awesome wait did she say. "Did you say you love me?" I was so happy to hear this.

"yes.. I do. And it's not because you were hurt, well kinda.." I smiled, blinking back the tears. "Seeing you on tv and realising how dangerous your job is, you told me you loved me and I was so scared to say it back fearing it was too soon, but knowing I could have lost you before we've had a life together, I realised that you're who I want to spend the rest of my life with, I want to marry you Brody."

I smiled. "Well damn that's a fine ass way to wake up. But princess I would like to ask you my way okay!" I say and in wake my brother with the doctor. Why my brother gave her a look like he knew something was off and the way she slightly shook her head was even odder. The doctor looked me over and said he wanted to do a scan on my head because I don't remember how this happened or being shot. So they took me down as my brother and j guess Lila was my girlfriend now.

I looked over at Brodys brother and glared once we were alone outside while he had a scan done "you need to stop looking at me like that, I feel terrible as it is. I don't want to add any stress that he doesn't need." I couldn't think about what I had lost, I needed to focus on what I have and that's Brody alive.

After my scan and laying in bed talking to the doctor and to my brother, nothing came back to my memory but I know I was forgetting certain things. I just couldn't piece them together. Things kept flashing in my head, wades name, our friend/co-worker, and baby, why baby?

"so they said you might be able to leave tomorrow if you're feeling up to it" I smiled, coming back in the room with a coffee. "can I get you anything? How are you feeling?" I was worrying so much about him

"Mmm all I want is you to climb in bed and lay with me." I smirked. "Other than that I'm good and can't wait to get home in our bed with you." I smiled and my brother shook his head. "On that note I'm going back to the station I'll be back tomorrow to help get you home, Lila,". He said before walking out. "He is acting weird with you. I hope you two get along better than that."

"hes just worried about you, it's been a rough week." I hoped he believed that lie. "anyway, I'm looking forward to you coming home.. I took some time from work to look after you, you're on strict bed rest once you're back."

"Mmm bedrest with you I can do." I smiled and pulled her by her her hand too me. "I don't wanna be on bedrest to long because I can think of better things to do in bed with you!" I winked.

I blushed a little, "well not until you get the all clear.." and sex was the furthest from my mind right now. "but it does sound nice."

I smiled. "Oh I'll get the all clear princess." I just wanted to be home. The next day the doctor came in and clear me to go home under certain circumstances I had to rest and listen to my physical therapist. As we got home and my brother helped Lila with some things I still felt the tension only it wasn't with me it was between them. I didn't like it.

"Im going to run to the store, I'll be back soon." I said picking up my car keys as Brody and his brother were on the couch watching tv. "I won't be long." glancing at Brody, I smiled not giving his brother a look. I just couldn't, I knew I'd break down if I did

As soon as she left I turned to my brother and said. "What's going on with you two? There is so much tension?" I said confused.

"Na it's nothing.." I sighed, picking up a beer and unscrewing the cap. "her and I just don't know each other too well, and we had an argument before the accident about Wade, I said somethings and she was hurt.." he lied taking the blame for this one.

"What the fuck did you say to hurt her man?" I was pussed but I needed to know. "Wade was a dumbass, and I can't shake this feeling that what happened on our last hostage stack had to do with him in some way." I said shaking my head. "Also there is something else I can't place but I keep having thoughts of a baby." I smiled. "Crazy shit right."

"baby?" he grimaced, suddenly finding the alcohol too hard to swallow. "what do you mean the attack had something to do with Wade?"

I sighed. "I don't know that's the problem, I just have this feeling that it did. Something happened right before I got shot, then as I laid there I remember someone not who exactly but someone we know and he mentioned Wade. Then I remember sending a text to Lila and that's it. I don't remember much of anything else." I looked at him. "And I know it's crazy but yeah I keep getting these images of a baby. Maybe it's because Wade got that stripper pregnant I don't know."

"that must be it.." he said quietly, hearing the key rattling in the door, I quickly added "I'll look into The Wade part of the attack."

I walked back in, holding up a bag "I brought burgers and I know you're a health freak, so you got a side salad too, and I got onion rings, incase you feel like crossing over to the dark side." I laughed, glancing at his brother "I brought you one too-" I began but was cut off.

"don't bother, thanks tho. I need to go work and stuff.." he downed his beer, and stood. Looking over at Brody "I'll see you soon brother," giving a nod to Lila "see you."
