I smiled. "Well if I could get you to eat healthier things then you would be just fine but I won't push its what you want. And really what you eat isn't really that bad." I said hoping I didn't upset her. I just couldn't help it I like to know what is going into my body that's why I eat healthy.

I stopped and pulled her to me. "That's not what I meant so get it out of your head, I love how you eat and your not fat at all, wouldn't matter to me, I love you for you." God I screwed up. "And besides I think a greasy lunch is what we both need."

I knew he was trying to make me feel better. "no I'm good, I don't think I need a heavy lunch, something light will suit me." I smiled, resting my head against his shoulder

I shook my head. "I don't believe you Lila! I've known you for a while now and I know you never eat light, so come on tell me what you really want." I say and kiss her head.

"I keep forgetting we've been friends for longer.." I keep forgetting he and Wade were best mates. I read the menu, deciding on what I wanted "iced chocolate and a bowl of nachos."

I smiled. "That's my girl. I'll have the same." We ordered and them sat down. "So how long you wanting to work for?" I asked not sure if she even wanted too.

"until I'm able to, probably 8 months if my feet let me last that long.." I wasn't sure of his thought on that so I kept talking "I will want to take 12 months leave afterwards though, and be at home with our baby."

I smiled. "You don't need to work if you don't want too but that's your choice I'll support you with whatever, but I don't care for that boss of yours I know that look and he wants you more than a employer or friend."

I laughed as our food was brought over, "you have nothing to worry about, he can't seduce something that doesn't want to be seduced."

I smiled. "I know that's why I'm not worried because I trust you and know you. But that doesn't mean I trust him, my cop in me says he isn't to be trusted." I took a big but and watched her.

"hopefully you'll change your mind once you get to know him more." I said quietly, picking up a corn chip. "are you going to propose to me before the baby is born?" I would dared outloud, clearly catching him off guard.

I swallowed. "Umm well I haven't thought about it much because I didn't want to scare you plus I thought you wanted slow." I looked at her and sighed. "I would marry you right now but I know it's not what you want plus I want to marry you when I know your feelings are the same for me as mine are for you."

"my feelings for you are strong.." I was just scared and need to be sure before I said those three little words. "youre not just someone I'm with because you knocked me up. I like you, alot and I want to be with you. You make me happy, and I think about you all the time when we're apart. Don't doubt my feelings for you ever, because they're there and I'm here with you. I smiled and grabbed her hand. "I don't doubt how you feel sweetheart, but I know you don't love me at this point in time and I'm okay with it, when you fall I'll be here however long that takes I'm not going anywhere." I kissed her hand. "But I don't doubt your feelings for me. You can't pretend the passion we have."

"of course not." I smiled back "we have alot of passion, and it's very well known in the bedroom." our chemistry was undeniable.

I smiled. "Good now let's eat up!" I started to eat and we talked and laughed. This is what I loved about her it was so simple.

He walked me back to work, and I hated to say goodbye. "I'll see you at home officer." I smiled, whispering against his lips. "I'll cook dinner, don't worry about ordering anything." I had already decided I was going to make us something healthy, chicken wraps or a Taco bowl, oh my did a Taco bowl sound good. No, I was sticking to healthy or he's not going to like the naked sight of me. Walking back into work, I went to my desk and started replying to emails.

I went back to work hating being away from her I was on a call when I knew it would take a little longer than normal so I sent a quick text as my partner, who is my brother drove -hey my queen we got a call in and we are on our way it's a hostage situation so I might not be home right at 6, love you XXX-

I have never felt a panic like this before. It fully began to sink in how dangerous his job was. I quickly text back -please be careful. Xxx - ok screw the wraps, I was picking up Chinese for dinner.

I smiled at her text. -always specially now that I have you and our baby to come home too. Xxx- I slid my phone in my pocket as we pulled up and started getting ready. We got briefed and now we wait. Time ticked by slowly till I was told to go to the back of the building. My brother was to stay there. I should have known it wasn't a good idea when they split us up but I had to do what I was told. I'm sure this was all over the news and I didn't know if Lila would be watching or not. I got to the back and hated who would have my back a mutual friend of mine and Wades. Great. He gave me a dirty look. I went to my position and a few minutes later gun fire rang from the building there was more than one guy shit.

In the middle of chowing down on a spring roll, I was flipping through tv channels, trying to find something other than sports when I noticed the news and the breaking news alert at the bottom. I frowned, when a police officer was on tv running from a building, then i began to realise it was Brodys brother. Oh my God this had me on the edge of my seat in a panic.

The team I was with was firing and moving closer. Once we got close enough a shot was fired and what the hell hit me in the back. I groaned and fell forward till I heard that voice I knew. "Brody your so stupid, you can't have wades woman and not take what you get." Then nothing he walked away I radioed my brother then pulled my phone out -I love you xxx- and then I was out cold. Hopefully my brother would get here in time before they put a bullet in my head.

My phone buzzed, relief flooding thru me as I read it but then something uneasy washed thru me. I felt sick, suddenly as if something was wrong. "officer down!" was being yelled thru the TV, and next minute they zoomed in on the officer on tv and it was Brody. Oh my God! I.was up and in state of panic as I drove to the hospital.

I paced the hallway as Brody was in surgery. I heard a frantic female asking questions and knew it was Lila. I walked over "Lila, oh god I'm so sorry I wasn't there for him this is my fault we never split up never." I said apologizing over and over. "He is in surgery they haven't came out to let me know yet how it's going."
