Lani who lost her parents thinks finding love is important and goes through school to achieve two things one getting her degree and two finding love.

i laughed. "Hints why you and your buddies do one nights stands. It's not a big deal your in college why get tied down?" I said. "Look I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend you but when lani said it was okay to see if I can get a shag with you then I thought I would try but obviously you like her because ever since i mentioned her your head is trying to figure out where she is! But we both know where that girl would be right now!"

i was laying in my board crying thinking about my family and why I'm stuck here alone. I hated it. I didn't really have much going for me that's obvious. I was looking up at the clouds wishing I could talk to them.

i jerked up and ended up falling off my board. When I came up from the water gasping. "What the hell!" I asked myself. I looked to the shore and saw Matt standing there. Shouldn't he be in class? I swam back to shore and looked at him. "What?"

"I just had your friend come and talk to me," I crossed my arms over my chest and smirked "she seems to think offering to fuck me is alright because you told her she could? Do you think that low of me? That I'm that much of a man whore?"

i was taken back. "I'm sorry what!" He repeated his words. "I never told her that she said if I wasn't going for you then she should I just agreed. I don't know you all that well but I'm certain I'm not your type I'm no ones type! It wasn't-I didn't mean anything by it, that's just normally how things go. I meet a guy who is fun and we hang out as friends then Dylan says something they run right into Tess's arms. Willingly! I'm sorry." I sighed not knowing what to say. I managed to fuck things up more. "I'm sorry I can't-I have to clear my head and keep it cleared this week."

"first of all, stop talking. Your friend drove me crazy with her constant talk and I have no intentions of running into her arms." I smiled "second, your cousin doesn't scare me and third, you're my type. So go out and surf, that way I can draw and fill my morning with something interesting."

i looked at him. Was he insane! "I-I can't my board broke when you scared me to death." I said shyly. "Plus I need sleep I haven't slept very well."

"your board broke?" she was tiny, how could it break
I shrugged "fine. You owe me a burger then, let's go grab something to eat and don't bother making up another excuse to leave. I may be good looking but I'm far from stupid."

"I-I-I never said you were stupid?" I said looking out into the ocean. "It's just I'm not great company right now."

"well neither am I, your friend assumes way too much and I'm hungry. Come on." I said giving her a hopeful grin. "the ocean isn't going anywhere."

i looked back at him. "Your not going to take a no for a answer are you?" He shook his head no. I giggled. "Okay but can we get the food to go and take it to mines, I'm really tired!"

"yeah sounds good. Did you walk or drive?" I asked looking around for her car. I was just relieved she wasn't saying get lost.

"walked I'm not a fan of driving much. Specially this week." I said and looked at him with my said tired eyes. Why was he here and not running. No one likes me when I'm down not even Tess!

"good, I walked to. So you skipping school all this week?" I asked as we started walking down the pathway.

k sighed. "Yeah it's pointless for me to go. I don't get anything done and my brain doesn't focus! Why aren't you in class?" I asked looking anywhere but him. I didn't want him to see how bad I was hurting.

"you can blame your friend for me walking out of class. Not really into gossip and being told what I'm thinking" I shrugged "looks like you're stuck with me for a bit."

"I'm sorry Tess can be a little much but normally she is nice and fun. I don't know why she did what she did and I'm sorry for that." I hated that my friend upset him. We walked till we got to a food place order food even tho I was hungry. We went back to mine and sat there he ate while I picked.

"tell me something else about you. What movies do you like?" I found myself just watching her and thinking she really was beautiful.

i stopped picking. "I like comedies and horror." I laughed. "Occasionally a romance here in there. How about you?" I said leaning back on the couch. I curled up towards him and gave a sad smile. "If I fall asleep I'm sorry that's usually what I do."

"don't worry," I smiled tilting my head to the side to look at her "horror is good, action is a favourite also." I said and lifted my arm around her neck, pulling her closer into me.

i went willingly and rested my head on his shoulder closing my eyes. "Why are you so nice to me?" I asked yawning.

"because you're not annoying or like other girls. " I said softly as I stroked my fingers through her hair gently. "you can sleep, I'll be her when you wake."

my eyes were heavy and I was sleeping in no time. I was dreaming and I hated it I wanted to wake up I yelled and screamed. Why wasn't I waking up. This wasn't a normal dream it was worse. Matt was there in the car and he told me he would die with my family. I jerked up right before the crash crying and screaming "no!"
