She is mysterious, and strange to most people. Dark clothes, dark make-up. She loves dark stuff. Then suddenly her mother dies, and her baby sister. Leaving her and her father. Her dad checks out on the murder, but she still is shifty. She was out doing a few illegal things that night, so she can't tell. The cops decide to assign a watch on her. He wasn't too old, fresh out of the academy and only 21. He gets a cover up as a teacher at her school, a history teacher. He's good at it too, and another shock, so is she. But he doesn't find out until he sits down with her. He's kinda of annoying to her, but also annoyingly cute. Maybe there's a romance dwelling beneath them.

"I was going to cook something tonight, I always do because my mom did at least once a week, usually on a Monday," I said.

"what are you cooking? im going to watch you do that." I smiled.

"My mom cooked this really good pasta when she was in a good mood. You never want to taste it when my mom wasn't in a good mood. But I thought today was a good day for that type of food," I said. "And watch if you want, my dad always did when she made it."

"Alright, if I'm going to cook then I need to be in the kitchen," I said as I sat up.

"I'll be in there soon, just have to shower first." i said and headed into the bedroom.

"Okay," I said and went downstairs to begin.

I called my boss and gave him an update on how things were going. Took a quick shower and then made my way into kitchen, wrapping my arms around her waist from behind and kissing her neck "something smells good"

I smiled at him. "I'm half way through. I had to make the salad and dressing, my mom use to make special dressing too," I said.

"I'll be done in a few minutes."

"I look forward to trying it" I say as the front door opened and dad came through. I moved away and went into living room.

I looked up a little surprised. He was home early. I looked at the food though. I wasn't wanting to provoke a fight just by staring at him.

I sensed a weird tension between them both. I decided I head down to the station to try see if there was any news on the murder investigation. "I'll be back in around 30 minutes" I said and then left.

[Mizho Sohma]

"Okay," we replied as he left. He went to get in casual clothes while I finished cooking.

My father came back and looked at what I made. "Why did you make this?" He asked with a sneer. "It was everyone's favorite, and I thought you might enjoy it, it's been awhile since we had it," I said shakily. "Your mother made it look nicer," he said and walked away.

I spoke with my boss and they were no where near finding out who killed her. The main suspect was still my now girlfriend. I needed to talk her into giving her alibi to let her off the hook. I headed back to the house and walked into dead silence again and her looking upset. I walked over, "what's wrong?" I asked quietly.

"Nothing, I'm fine," I said softly. My dad walked in and I looked down. He didn't say anything, he just got his plate and went to his room.

Something was up. I took her face in my palms and tilted her head back, "don't lie to me, i'm a cop you know. now please tell me,"

[Mizho Sohma]

"My, dad insulted me....He saw what I made and asked why did I make it. After I told him he said I shouldn't have made it, it'll never be like my mom's," normally that wouldn't hurt anyone, but my mom was dead. She will never make this meal again.

My jaw hardened. "Don't listen to him. fuck that's made me mad. I don't want you to stop cooking things you love because he makes you feel bad." I leant forward and kissed her, "I have never had this before so you can keep cooking it, for me." I grinned.

I smiled softly at him. "Alright, but it can't be that bad if he took his plate. If he hates something he'll dump his plate then go buy something," I said.

I shook my head, "you should move out, why live in a house where youre ignored and insulted daily," I pulled her close and hugged her. I wanted to make everything better.

[Mizho Sohma]

I hugged him back. "I'm 18, and at first I didn't like the sound of it because, you were going to be living alone with me somewhere and I didn't know you then. I was kinda afraid I'd get one of those bad cops who think it's okay to rape the suspects and the other woman in jail. And I just didn't want to live with an unfamiliar face," I said.

"I would never rape you!" I said seriously, "I won't even go there until you want it," I ran my hand through her hair. "if you don't want to be here then I can convince my boss to let me take you into my house, I don't want you anywhere where you feel unsafe."

[Mizho Sohma]

"I know you wouldn't do that, but I didn't know then. I don't know if your boss will believe me, not without you having witnessed anything," I said and looked at him with a little sadness. No one really believed me in anything.

I smirked, "beautiful I will get you into my house, my boss will believe me if I say I think you're in danger in this house. please don't worry!"
