Once upon a blizzard

One night during the start of a blizzard like storm a woman and her children (one boy and one girl) were traveling to get away from her ex. She had no choice she needed to get away. Her ex wa as abusive drunk who thought he owned her. She drove into a small town and was almost to where she wanted to be when out of no where she hit a deer. Sitting there in the cold not knowing what to do she looked at her phone seeing she only had a little battery left she called for help. The dispatcher said she was lucky that the fire station was close by. A little while later there was a knock on her door. She looked and was stunned by the handsome guy standing there asking if she was okay.

It was late and the snow was coming g down hard when we got a call about a woman and two children stuck on the side of the road. I was pissed that anyone let alone someone with children would be out in this mess. As we got to the scene I knocked on the window Dow and asked the lady if she was okay. She had a light bruise on her cheek possibly from the hit. Her car wasn’t on so those kids were probably cold we needed to get them to the station now.

I heard crying, and ran out before I could put a clean wound pad on, not realising blood had blotted through the white cotton shirt. “I’m so sorry.” I said as Reid and Luca both ran to me. “I was too long, I’m so sorry.” I looked up at the ass “Thankyou for watching them.”

I got up quick and grabbed her gently running to their room closing the door I lifted her shirt “What the fu-“ I looked at the kids. “Tony has Cake why don’t you go and ask for some with your sister buddy.” He nodded and took his sister hand running off. “What the hell?” I grabbed some supplies and started to clean her up.

“I can do it.” I stated looking anywhere but him. “How about you let me do this.” I have never had anyone take care of me and I wasn’t sure how I was meant to react.

“Just sit fucking still.” I groaned looking at the wound. “It’s infected, What the hell dis this guy do to you.” I noticed the bruises all over her. “You need to call that number seriously.” I said getting to work. I kind of felt bad for her but I really didn’t know the story.

“You swear a lot.” I rolled my eyes. I wondered about the number and I would call once he had left me alone. “I don’t want to talk about it so just stop asking and assuming I’ll do as you say. I won’t be doing what anyone tells me to anymore.”

I smirked and laughed “you sometimes being told what to do can come win some really good rewards.” I winked. She was actually fun to mess with. She looked ready to hit me so I held my hands up. “Hey I’m kidding!” I said laughing. “Or maybe I’m not I guess only one way to find out.”

“Well dream on because that won’t ever happen.”
I promised and looked away from him. “Unless you’d like me to punch you, then of course keep this up.”

I laughed.  “So you weren’t checking me out after my shower and our little mishap in the hall earlier?”  I shook my head.  “I know you were.  But it doesn’t matter because you are right about one thing we would never happen.”  I finished up and turned to walk away.  “Woman like you are not worth the time.  You are damaged and won’t trust a guy so don’t worry sweetheart I’ll stay clear.”

“I can finish the rest” I stepped aside “you can get out now” I don’t know why, but it annoyed me. He was so rude and arrogant. “And no, I definitely wasn’t checking you out either.”

I laughed. “Yeah keep telling yourself that.” I walked out more pissed than ever. I needed to work out I put my earbuds in and went at it in our gym. What the hell why woman like her always ended up in my life. Is it because of how I grew up or what happened to me as a child.

I went and picked up my phone and dialled the beach number he gave me, a woman answered “hello... Umm Bo gave me your number, he said you made get be able to help us.”

I smiled. “Oh Bo How is he I haven’t heard from him in a little while. He is such a good boy though I just wish he’d find a special someone.” She sighed. “So what is it I can help you with my dear? I’m assuming you left someone who’s hurt you? That’s what I do I help woman whom have been in situations that my children and I endured.”

“Yes. My-my husband” I said quietly, tears filling my eyes “I have 2 children and we just got in the car and left. I should have made a plan or thought about the snow.” I didn’t know what to do.

“Oh that’s a shame sweetie I have two boys myself and their father was a real piece of work, my oldest boy boy got a lot of the hand from his father, but that boy was so protective of myself and his little brother god rest my little ones soul. My oldest tried so hard to protect him but just couldn’t.” She sniffled. “So how is you know Bo?”

“He came and helped us out of the snow.” I wondered if that’s why he was the way he was with me, but then that didn’t make sense as he’s been so rude. “I’m not sure how you can help me.”

She smiled into the phone. “Oh honey I’ve helped plenty of woman with these kinds of things. I say once the snow clears out you come stay with me and I’ll help you every way possible.” Bo was not going to like this and she knew this poor girl didn’t know that bo was her son. He wouldn’t tell her that without revealing himself to her.

“Ok I will do. Could you text me your address please.” I asked and we ended the call. I found the kids enjoying some cake, a rare treat that they haven’t had in such a long time except for birthdays. “You kids look like you’re loving it.”

They smiled up at her and tony laughed. “They are but they keep asking for the big teddy bear as your daughter calls him.” I laughed. “Not sure how he does it but kids love him while most adults hate him. Will except us guys, we all love him here and wouldn’t want anyone else by our side. Anyways I told them he is working out right now but he can play in a while.”

“Just don’t go harassing the working me sweethearts, they are busy.” I was nervous, anxious. “When do you think the snow will clear?”

Tony shrugged “not sure but it’s funny you asked so did Bo!” He laughed. Just then Bo rounded the corner oblivious to anything with his ear buds still in. Grabbing some Gatorade and turning to see two pairs of little eyes watching him and then a pair of beautiful eyes glaring at him. He smirked knowing he was all nice and sweaty.

I rolled my eyes and then looked away, why did he have to walk around like that. I stood up, clearing my throat “Well then, it looks like the snow is going to clear soon so we’re going to be on our way thankfully.” I couldn’t wait to get out of here.

I laughed. “Yeah good luck with that!” I said and the little girl ran over to me. “Can you red to me?” She asked and I smiled. “Sure thing sweets! I think I have some kids books for when we go to the children’s hospital!” I picked her up and smiled at her. “How about a princess one?”

“Can you not do that please.” I said to him. “Don’t call her princess again and don’t pick her up.” I took her from his arms and ignored her wails “you don’t get to speak to me like trash and then play nice around my children after critiquing my parenting skills.” I took Aries by the hand and walked off to the room we were staying in.

“Well shit lady I was just going to read a princess book to the girl!” I said shaking my head. “What is wrong with that lady.” I drank my drink and laughed walking away.

I laid in the single bed with both kids, fast asleep and silently cried. I kept to myself and kept the kids busy with books and puzzles for the remaining two days here before we set off to this woman’s house. I hope I was making the right call. “Thankyou for all you’ve done.” I said to the chief. “I will always appreciate it.”
