Once upon a blizzard

One night during the start of a blizzard like storm a woman and her children (one boy and one girl) were traveling to get away from her ex. She had no choice she needed to get away. Her ex wa as abusive drunk who thought he owned her. She drove into a small town and was almost to where she wanted to be when out of no where she hit a deer. Sitting there in the cold not knowing what to do she looked at her phone seeing she only had a little battery left she called for help. The dispatcher said she was lucky that the fire station was close by. A little while later there was a knock on her door. She looked and was stunned by the handsome guy standing there asking if she was okay.

It was late and the snow was coming g down hard when we got a call about a woman and two children stuck on the side of the road. I was pissed that anyone let alone someone with children would be out in this mess. As we got to the scene I knocked on the window Dow and asked the lady if she was okay. She had a light bruise on her cheek possibly from the hit. Her car wasn’t on so those kids were probably cold we needed to get them to the station now.

“Sure, I bet they’re tired from their outing.” I stood up still looking at him. We tucked them in and made our way to the library. I was in awe but still I wanted to talk and learn more about him. “And you still have no desire to be with a woman? I’m not judging but curious because usually all men sleep around, Tony was telling me about his latest woman and what she does in bed to him.”

I rolled my eyes. “Of cours eim fucking curious, I mean I would love to know how it feels to be with a woman but it would need to be the right one, one who undstands who I am and what I’ve been through, one that doesn’t want to have children. Don’t get me wrong I’d love to but I’m to scared to be like my father, I choose this way of leaving to protect people.” I sighed rubbing a hand down my face. “Tony says I’m a idiot and could never be like my father but that night, that one night my father tied me to the chair and beat my mother and little brother I wanted nothing more than to do that exact shot to him.”

“I don’t think you can be like your father, unless you loathe people but what your dad done was disgusting, mentally wrong. But in saying that, if you think there’s a chance you’re like him then at least you know where to draw that line. My ex was the kindest man when we first met, I waited until marriage and had this big dream of how my wedding night would go.” I sighed sitting down more comfortably “it was the worst experience of my life. He got so drunk, ripped my clothes off and bent me over the bed. Far from the lovemaking I dreamed of.” I hated even having to remember but he made me want to talk and open up. “That went on for months until I fell pregnant with Reid, and then he didn’t touch me. I knew he was having an affair, but I was unable to leave with a small child, and then he wanted another child and nine months later Luca was born.” I wiped away my tears “I’d never tell them of how they were conceived, or that their father never cared for them. If they left toys out he would threaten to beat them, I wouldn’t never let him hurt them so he took it out on me instead.. the night I ran, he had come home and said he wanted another son.. even though it’s impossible for me to have anymore, he said he would make it happen and I know it would be a lifetime of torture, so when he was in the shower I grabbed what I could and left. I couldn’t live that way anymore and I don’t ever want my children to either.”

I sighed and sat down next to her. “See you tell me these things and I couldn’t see myself doing that but I can see myself hurting if not killing your ex. That makes me like them and I hate it.” I sighed and put my head in my hands. “No one should ever have to go through anything like we have.”

“I dreamed of slitting his throat, or when he would demand dinner and sat and ate it, all i wanted to do was swing a frypan around his head and kill him.” I looked at him “but I didn’t, because I love my children and there’s a difference between thinking about it, and acting on it. You have a temper, but sometimes we all loose our shit from now and then.” I stretched out with a yawn “anyway, bedtime for me, no doubt I will have two little kids wide awake bright and early eager for Disneyland”. I bit my lip smirking slightly “feel free to sleep in your bed again, i don’t want to take up your personal time with you silicon lover.”

I groaned and shook my head. “I’m okay I took care of everything in the shower earlier!” I winked and caught her blush. I really did take care of it in the shower today and beside right now I don’t think the silicone liver would do it for me now that I’ve seen her naked.

“I’m glad you’re tending to your needs.” I couldn’t get my head around what that must look like. “So anyways, you get yourself a good sleep and I’ll see you bright and earl.” I smiled, and walked off to his bedroom to change.

I laughed and jumped on the couch to get comfy and ready to sleep but the kids asked me to come down there again so I did she wouldn’t be able to say no to my bed if they were already comfy right?

“Alright let’s get a photo of the happy family before you’d jet off to Disney, the happiest place on earth.” Tony teased holding his phone up “big smiles!” I rolled my eyes just smiling anyway to shut him up. The kids were beyond eager and I wasn’t sure what Bo was thinking as he hadn’t said much. We soon we’re on the road and I moaned into my coffee “it’s never too early for this.”

I smiled and looked over at her. “I so agree with you on that one!” I looked back at the kids both wide awake and lokkkbg so happy. It would be a little drive so I bought some games for the kids and her to play. “Hey in that bag is some road trip stuff!”

“You are more organised than I am this early.” I was sill half asleep. My phone buzzed and I opened the message noticing it was the picture from tony. Staring at it, I realised it looked like a perfect happy family going on a holiday. I knew of Bo seen it he would most likely freak. “I’m making it a mission to eat as much food as possible, i YouTubed the food at dosnleyland and it looks amazing.”

I laughed. “Okay I’ll double what you eat How is that?” I just wanted to get them all smiling and forget everything else. About 12 hours later we were pulling up and I was excited . “Hey sleepy heads we are here!” I smiled seeing then wake and look all around.

“Mr and Mrs smith?” I heard as we walked through the front doors. My eyes widened and I giggled slightly, realising they thought we were married “Umm.” I didn’t know what to say as I picked up Luca. Just smiling, she greeted Bo with eager eyes “Mr Smith, please follow me to your family suite. We hope you have a incredible time as Disney kingdoms.”

I looked at Jane and took Reid’s hand. “Oh I’m sure my family and I will.” I winked at Jane the lady who thought she could flirt with anyone like that in front of whom they thought was their spouse disgusted me. Once we made it to our room I looked and knew I would be sleeping on the couch. The kids ran around and I looked at Jane. “Sorry I can’t stand that she thought we were together but still flirted like that with me in front of you it was wrong so there was no way in he-heck I was going to let her know we aren’t tegether.”

I laughed “well I didn’t think, I just gave them my name and they’ve put two and two together.” It was sweet that he thought like that, and didn’t flirt back. “It’s clear you’re extremely popular with the ladies tho.” I walked over to the rooms and looked around, noting the bedroom situation one one king and a room with two singles. “We can see the castle from here, they do a fairytale show each night which is meant to be pretty.” My eyes went back to the bed between us “I’ll share with the kids.”

I shook my head. “Nah I can take the couch or the bed is big enough and we are adults but if your not comfortable with that then like I said I can take the couch you need to be comfortable!” I said realizing I just suggested we share the bed without thinking shit was is wrong with me.

“Well as long as you don’t snore, and it’s only for a few nights.” I said quietly. I hadn’t shared a bed with a man in so long. “Just don’t steal all the blankets and it’ll be fine.” I would get up before the kids could notice.

I smiled. “Okay but at any moment you aren’t comfortable then tell me! I’ll get another room or sleep on the couch.” I heard the kids out in the other room. “They are probably hungry do you want to go out tonight or eat in and then go full force tomorrow?”

“Eat in and full force tomorrow.” I laughed, smiling. “That sounds the go. I’m sure they’re ready for bed too.” I sat in the couch and tilted my head to the wine on the table “I may go full force with that later.”

I laughed.  “Just don’t go to hard.”  I picked up the food menu and looked threw it.  “You want me to call in the order?”  I asked after we figured out what the kids wanted and what she wanted.  She nodded looking so content on watching the kids smile and play.  I ordered and sat back down.  “This is a nice size room, if you can call it a room considering that there is two bedrooms it’s more like a apartment in my books.”

I laughed having to agree “yes your house is like ten times the size of this place.” I tucked up legs up on the couch behind me as I held my glass of wine. I felt relaxed and just content right now. “ you seen relaxed.” I pointed out 

Tony sent Bo a text - how’s the trip going dad? Is mum offering to teach you how to kiss yet?-

It smiled at her. “I am.” I looked at my phone and felt the tension back within seconds. -shit up and be a fucking friend ass!- I sent back wanting to punch my best friend. I looked back at her and laughed. “You seem relaxed too.”

“Surprisingly, I feel happy. I know it’s weird but the kids are so quiet, I don’t feel uptight or stressed out like usual.” I tilted my glas from side to side “maybe it’s just the wine. Refil please my dear.” I laughed smiling at him. 

Tony rolled his eyes laughing, he had edited the photo with a loveheart above their head and sent it back - your new Christmas card? -

I refilled the glass and then checked my phone. A photo of us all before leaving only ducking tony being the immature asshat he is put a heart on it. I shook my head and looked over at her. “Maybe the wine has helped but I think being here and away is the main reason.” I sighed looking at the photo. -jealous is a ugly side of you!- I wrote back laughing. “Fair warning to h is being immature, he photoshopped that picture heel took before we left and put a heart on it, just wanted to let you know.” I showed her the text messages known g she would most likely read my text back but didn’t care.

I laughed shaking my head “he’s an idiot. I think he’s jealous that he didn’t get to come.” I pointed out. “You’re right, it’s being here and away from everyone, I’m glad I did this. And that you’re here, you need it too according to your mum.”
