Once upon a blizzard

One night during the start of a blizzard like storm a woman and her children (one boy and one girl) were traveling to get away from her ex. She had no choice she needed to get away. Her ex wa as abusive drunk who thought he owned her. She drove into a small town and was almost to where she wanted to be when out of no where she hit a deer. Sitting there in the cold not knowing what to do she looked at her phone seeing she only had a little battery left she called for help. The dispatcher said she was lucky that the fire station was close by. A little while later there was a knock on her door. She looked and was stunned by the handsome guy standing there asking if she was okay.

It was late and the snow was coming g down hard when we got a call about a woman and two children stuck on the side of the road. I was pissed that anyone let alone someone with children would be out in this mess. As we got to the scene I knocked on the window Dow and asked the lady if she was okay. She had a light bruise on her cheek possibly from the hit. Her car wasn’t on so those kids were probably cold we needed to get them to the station now.

I nodded.  “Of course as long as it is for you?”  She nodded back and walked to her car.  I got the kids into my truck and smiled.  “So you kids are okay with your mum seeing me?  I want to make sure because you both mean as much as your mum does to me too.”  I didn’t know if the understood but I had to say it.

“We like you and mummy likes you too.” Luca smiled “will you be our new dad? Do we call you dad or Bo still? Are you living with us now?” 

Reid groaned “Luca you talk to much. Why do you sneak away in the morning? We seen you here before you woke and then you ran out when we were getting up.” 

Luca ignored him “will you have a baby with mummy? Coz that’s how babies are make when you’re naked cuddling.”

I choked.  “Ummm, honestly I don’t ummm know maybe we can talk about all this with your mummy.” I was so shocked and didn’t know what to say . I helped them out and saw Jane so happy to see her.  When I hugged her and whispered everything they asked so she would be prepared.

I was waiting for these kinds of questions and I knew they would press them until they had answers. So I’m sat down with them in the lounge room and answered each. “You don’t have to call Bo dad, he’s not expecting you to.. he’s not living with us, he has his own home and we’ve seen it, but he will come over more and hang out with you guys and come for dinner. As for mornings, we’ll he only left this morning because we wanted to talk to you first and make sure you were happy about us. I’m saying that, maybe Bo can have sleep overs sometimes and have breakfast with us.” I hoped I was saying all the right things because I didn’t have a clue. “As for a baby, no sweetheart. There won’t be anymore children except you two.”

I smiled.  “Well said baby.”  I whispered and kissed her cheek. “But if your mummy is okay and if you want in future you can call me Dad but not just yet let’s all get to know each other more.”  I picked up Luca and carried her inside.  I set up Reid’s gaming and then we played a few games.

“I didn’t think it would take long until they passed out.” I whispered standing by the doorway watching them sleep. I wrapped both arms around him. “Thankyou for today, it was incredible what you done for him and also Luca.” My head against his chest. “Are you staying or leaving?” I asked unsure. “When are you on nightshift again?” That would suck.

I smiled.  “I’ll stay if that is what you want.  And I’m back on in two days.” I kissed her head and then pulled her with me to her room.  “Did you enjoy today?  I’m sorry for the comments others made.”  I felt bad for all that but I can’t control them.

“It’s ok, I expect it from women who want something then can’t have.” I pointed out. “And of course id like you to stay, just don’t expect too much tonight, I’m beyond exhausted from today plus last night.”

I smiled.  “We can just cuddle if you’d like I’m okay with that. We don’t always have to make love-“ shit ummm I haven’t said that or called it that to her and I just did.  She blushed.  “How about we watch a movie and cuddle.”

“Maybe.” I nodded agreeing. I don’t know why he was nervous about it being called that. Haven’t we been making love already? “Feel free to come by in full uniform anytime just so you know.” I smiled taking off my bra and almost sighing in relief “oh god that feels so much better.”

I smiled.  “Yeah I can only imagine.”  I said rubbing my chest.  “I mean a long day in one of those is so uncomfortable!”  I winked letting her know I’m joking.  I stripped everything off except my boxers and climbed into bed opening my arms.  “Come here beautiful.”

I crawled over, sleep overtaking me as I laid my head against his chest. “I’ve fallen in love with you bevause
Of the million things you didn’t know you were doing.” I said a sleepy whisper as I dozed off

I was rubbing her back when she whispered those words and I smiled.  “I love you too.”  I said kissing her head not sure if she heard but it didn’t matter.  I was happy not scared but happy.  I dozed off holding her with a smile.

I slept all night, but woke feeling unsettled in the stomach. “Nothing can hurt me.” I whispered to myself with no clue why I would feel anxious. I looked up at Bo and kissed him softly “morning sexy.”

I smiled.  “Morning beautiful.  You okay?”  She looked as white as her sheets.  I was worried about her.  I sat up and looked at her.  “Are you not feeling well again?  Maybe you should see the doctor?”

“I’m ok. I’m feel sick but it’s because I’m worried.” I took I. A deep breath “maybe I should see a doctor, she might have something to help me.”

“Why are you worried?”  I asked not knowing if maybe I did something or if it was her ex that had her worried.  “I won’t let anyone hurt you or the kids you know that right?”

“I know, I guess I worry about his friend stopping by and that’s why I’m waking up sick.” I sighed. “It’ll pass soon.” I laid back down closing my eyes

I sighed.  “Okay but if it doesn’t promise you’ll see a doctor?”  I laid back down and pulled her to me kissing her head.  “I really like waking up with you.”

“Promise.” I looked up to him “I like waking up with you too, it’s nice having someone hold me.” I glanced away blushing

I smiled.  “I like when you blush.  Specially when I’m between your legs.”  I pulled her head back and kissed her then the door swung open.  “He really is here Reid!  See!”  Luca pointed at me and I laughed.

“Dirty man” I laughed softly and wrapped my arms around him closely. “Morning Luca.” It was cute seeing how excited she got over him being here. I sat up just as Reid walked in already dressed “Bo can you play basketball with me after breakfast?”

I smiled.  “Oh course I can buddy!” I looked at Jane.  “Love waking up like this!”  I kissed her and got out of bed throwing on some clothes I brought with me.  “I’ll cook breakfast how about French toast!”

“You can cook?” I asked surprised. “Umm That actually sounds pretty good right about now.” My stomach was starving hungry. “I’m going to take a shower, if you’re right with them?” I didn’t expect him to take on the dad role but he’s fitting in with us nicely and hasn’t once complained about the kids bothering him.

I smirked.  “Oh baby you Just I can cook a ton of different foods!”  I winked and followed the kids out.  “Who wants to help me cook your mummy the best French toast!” The kids jumped up and down excitedly.  We worked on the food and made a mess but that’s one of the best things about cooking the other is watching others enjoy your food.
