Fake Fiancé

Christmas in New York is her favourite time of year.. or well it was, until her parents called to say they’re coming to stay for the holidays and can’t wait to finally meet her fiancé.. It usually wouldn’t have been a problem, but the major downside was that there’s no fiancé.. she’s as single as one can be. She’s got a great job, finally moved into her new apartment and enjoying life, as a single woman with a cat. The thought of having a man around, warmed her heart but none were interested in her. With her sisters upcoming wedding, she knew the pressure was on to settle down and the words I’m engaged were being blurted our after one too many drinks after endless nagging.

She had her eye on someone, and not just anyone.. her boss. Like that would ever happen. Emotionless and arrogant, he could be the perfect candidate.. Well, there was no harm in asking right?

I burst out laughing “Umm in an ultrasound you dork.” I grinned laughing some more. “Trust me, if I was in labour then you would know about it. I’m not due for a couple more months anyway.”

I sighed and didn’t realize I still didn’t know shit. “Oh Umm I knew that.” I shrugged feeling like a idiot when the nurse called her name I got up and followed. I was so excited.

“Look, isn’t she big!” I pointed to the moniter and squeezed his hand. “She’s moving so much.” 

“It seems she’s growing well, your cervix is softened and getting ready for labour so when your water breaks you know to come to the hospital right away.”

I stared at the monitor “that’s our baby girl!” I smiled and couldn’t believe it. Wow she was moving a lot. “I bet she is beautiful just like you.” I said to georgia

“Would you like a photo for the father? I see he’s not with you this time.” The midwife asked. My heart sunk “Rhett is the father, he’s brother has just been the one bringing me while he’s been away.” God I felt terrible.

I looked at her pissed but I couldn’t be at her. I just hated this and that I missed so much already. “Yeah I’d like a copy! I’d also like for my wife to find another midwife doctor or whatever the hell your title is.”

I shook my head “he’s joking.” I wasn’t doing it that. “Please give us a moment” I asked and she left us alone. “You don’t get to make that call Rhett,”

I shook my head “but it’s okay for her to think my brother was the father fuck that. I don’t want him around at all!”

I sighed shaking my head “It was an accident, she assumed and-“ I just stopped talking and pulled my top down, standing up “I’m not changing doctors. I like her and if you don’t then tough. And didn’t you want to speak to her anyway? You mentioned it when we were away.”

I sighed. “Well I will be talking to my brother too!” I looked at her. “I can’t believe she was moving that much.” I got up and kissed her. “Stay here while I check something okay. I promise to be nice.” I stepped out and found the doctor clearing a week and a half getaway probably cause she felt bad and wanting Ed on my good side. But who cares I walked back in the room and smiled. “Ready to go? I have a surprise for you!”

“Oohh where are you going?” I asked with excitement. “I’m looking forward to getting away.” I took his hand hoping he was calmer by now.

I looked at her. “Do you think we are going somewhere?” She was adorable “it’s a surprise for you to relax okay and a way we can get to know each other better.”

“Well I don’t know with you.” I grinned. “It could be anything.”

I smiled. “Come on I’m really excited about this.” We left the doctors and I smiled the whole time. “Okay I’m going to drop you off then run and get some things pack a bag for a week and a half!”

“What kind of clothes do I pack? Warm or cold?” I had no idea. “You’re being very vague.” I laughed with a groan.

“Both!” I said with a smiled. “I’ll be right back.” I went to leave but stopped. “Don’t forget milo and food.” Then I left going home to get some things then off to get the RV.

Milo? What the hell. “How can we take a cat with us. I packed my bag, and got ready waiting for him with Milo in his little cage. I was starving and don’t know when I would be able to eat next so I packed food also and waited on the front steps with anticipation.

I pulled up in the rev and smiled seeing her waiting. I got out and walked over. “Ready?” I grabbed her bag and milo. “We are going to have fun milo! Just us three!” I looked back at Georgia. “I hope this will be okay for you “

I half jumped with a scream, startling the couple walking past us “oh my god this is perfect! I love it!” It was the best surprise he could have chosen.

I laughed. “Well let’s get going you get to actually choose where we go and stop!” I kissed her and helped her in then I got in and opened milos cage. “I don’t want him to have to be in that if he doesn’t want to be. So where to?” I said sitting behind the wheel.

I laughed at the sight, needing to definitely take a photo of this. “Umm I have no clue! Somewhere far from here maybe?”

I smiled and nodded. “We drove for a while then I pulled up to a restaurant to eat. “I’m so hungry are you?”

“Beyond starving.” I grinned. “It’s so fun, being out here on the road. We need to do this when our baby is here.” It was kind of like being on our honeymoon

I smiled. “Just tel me when wild cat.” I got us a table and as we sat I pulled her hands in mine. “I’m sorry for the way I acted at the appointment.” I wanted to let her know this now before I forgot.

“Ok.” I said “just let’s not talk about that kind of stuff.” I looked at the menu “what are you ordering? I’m surprised you’re driving an RV, you don’t seem like the type to experience the outdoors.”
