She decides to escape all the pity looks she has been getting for a year now.  A year ago her husband and love of her life got into a horrible accident.  She was left with three kids.  One who is 2 one that is 5 and the oldest 7.  She didn't know what to do so she took the whole summer off to figure it out and took her babies to the beach for some much needed sun and time to recover specially her oldest who is always upset.  

He is a single dad of two who just recently 6 months ago divorced his pyscho of a wife.  He decided to move far away from her to his childhood beach house with his kids.  He has full custody.  He doesn't believe in love anymore after what she did to him.  All he needs is his kids and his friends.  But his friends think other wise.

"Morning hanfsome" i spun around, smiling "youre meant to be sleeping, they wanted to go to some water park and well i have no idea about that so i thought the beach until you're up" i wrapped my arms tighter around him "hope you dont love sleeping in, my lot dont know the meaning"

I smiled.  "I love the noise in the morning!  My ex always got upset when the kids were loud I welcome it!"  I kissed the side of her head.  "Well let's do the water park today and seeing as tomorrow is our last day maybe the beach?"  I kissed her again and smiled.

"And then its building a house!" I smiled eager to do that. "Are you sure you want us moving in with you before we go to the new house? " i didn't want to seem like i was living off him or expecting it. "And your ex is crazy not to love the sound of this." I said hearing Mia giggling about "pan-cake"

I smiled and picked up Mia.  "Pancakes tomorrow princess Mia."  I kissed Mia's cheek.  "I'm so sure.  I want to be able to wake up to this everyday!"   We got ready and went to the water park and it was a blast that night we watched movies with the kids then ate dinner after putting them to bed we talked about the house and made plans.  Made love a lot then went to bed.  The next day was spent at the beach then the same as the day before.  This morning we woke and got everything ready to go.  As we were heading home I was happy but had this feeling something was about to happen.

"So you boys get to go to the same school as Moly and Mikey, that'll be fun." I said but realized they'd passed out in the car I just laughed. "You're quiet," I whipserd, rubbing my hand over Zanders lap. "everything ok?"

I smiled.  "Yeah everything is fine I just have this bad feeling that something bad is waiting for us.  I don't know what but something.  Could be something my ex does or something but whatever it is we will work through it together."  I said deciding that honesty was the best.  I took her hand and brought it to my lips for a kiss.

"I've had that same feeling this entire trip." I whispered, starting to worry. "Well, could be my family. You haven't met them yet." I half laughed but stopped as he pulled into the drive way. "What the fuck.." There he sat on the front steps looking thinner, and tired. "Zander.. i'm so sorry." I said not believing my eyes.

I looked at her and then the guy sitting on the steps.  "Who is that?"  I asked even tho I already had this gut feeling it was brad her still husband.  When she didn't answer I asked again.  "Em who the fuck is that?"

"I.. he died.. we had a funeral.. he cant be real." I felt my eyes filling with tears. I was in shock. "My husband.. oh god hes alive."

Fuck that hurt.  I looked at him then her.  "I don't know what to say.  "Umm I'll get the kids you go talk I guess."

I felt horrible for him. "Please don't hate me." I whispered before getting out of the car. I walked towards my meant to be dead husband and before I said anything he had me pulled into his arms with a tight embrace. I didn't hug back, I just felt nothing from his touch anymore. "How are you alive?" I asked, confused as I pulled away.

"I'm sorry baby. I wanted to tell you but shit got real and I had to do what needed to be done.. I've been in witness protection and the life insurance was for you to live off while I was gone. I went ot the house and you weren't there." Bradley said a little sad "my parents told me you moved on, didn't you read my letter?"

I shook my head. "No.." I felt awful.

"Come home with me, you and the kids. I promse to be a better husband and father. I love you." he said to her, giving the guy next door a look that said she's mine asshole.

I watched for a second then got the kids to let them have some time.  I put the kids to bed and walked out to let her know .  "Em the kids can sleep here for the night you go and do what you have to do you can get the kids in the morning."  I wasn't mad at her or him I just knew I shouldn't have gave my heart away again.

"No. I won't leave them." I said and he looked hurt, but I couldn't leave them alone to spend the night with my ex husband. I didn't want that. "I'll come and get them in a minute." I felt like he had given up on us.

Brad stepped in front of me. "Listen, I appreciate you taking care of my wife and kids. But they're coming home with me." he then said lower so Emilia couldn't hear "you wouldn't want to be the type of man to break up a family, would you? Let her go, and end it." he stepped away, and walked into the cottage house.

"Zander.. I.." I didn't know what to say. "this doesn't change anything." I still wanted him.

I took a deep breath.  "I love you that doesn't change but him being here changes everything your married and he obviously isn't going to let you go you owe it to your marriage and your family to try.  I don't want to say that but Em I can't be that guy who comes between a husband and wife or who takes kids away from their father."  I sighed and pulled her into a big.  "I'll be here or I'll be in the new house if something changes and you decided to leave.  But don't because of me."  I kissed her head and walked away.  "Please lock up when you leave."

I couldn't believe him. I was so hurt. He just assumed I wanted to be with Brad and was going to hurt him. I didn't even know where the land was so some good that would be. He didn't fight for me, and I knew no man ever would. I went and got the kids, then went back to the cottage. I hadn't spoken to Brad. I was so mad at him and the kids weren't speaking much either. Andy wouldn't leave my side.

The next morning we left the cottage and my heart was broken.

I sighed as I watched her and the kids leave.  I hated it.  I told Lisa what happened and she said she would call and check on Em and let her know where to find him.  It's been months since he saw her the house they talked about was ready to move into.  He had it built the way she wanted to the very last detail.  He was killing himself but he loved her.  

I walked up the house and knocked as soon as Emilia answered I was so happy.  "Hey sorry to barge in on you I just wanted to see you, see if you were happy because Zander's been a mess."  Lisa said.

I looked up, and knew she'd see my black eye and split lip. "Help me." I whispered as my eyes filled with tears. It was a nightmare. He was always angry becuase i was crying and he knew it was over Zander. I refused to make love, and that made him worse. Brad's footsteps came thudding along the flooring. "Emilia. Who's at the door?" he asked with a frown. I was so afraid, "no one, she's just asking for directions to the post office." I told him and he nodded, placing his hand on her shoulder and squeezing tightly. "I see, its just up the road. Turn left and you'll see it." He said then closed the door on her. He looked at me and sighed rubbing my lip "i wish you would get over him."

I was sitting in the deck to the new house pissed at myself.  The kids were with my mother and I was almost drunk when my phone rang and I saw it was lisa.  "What!"  I barked and she started yelling about how Emilia was being hit!  I didn't even hear some of what was said I called my buddy and told him where to meet me and got on my bike to head to get my girl.

Bradley had gone to the store. I thought he had locked himself out when i heard a banging on the front door. The kids all sitting quietly watching tv. I went and answered the door and froze. My heart ached for him for so long then i noticed his friend "please you cant be here." God he would lose it if he came back and seen the man i was in love with here. "Zander.. i.. missed you. "

I grabbed her and hugged her then brought her away and looked at her, her lip was busted and bruised cheeks. Her eye oh god why did I let this happen.  "Em oh god my Em lets get your stuff and the kids stuff your not staying here and my friend here is a cop he won't let that asshat do anything I'm not leaving you or the kids here."  I said sternly.

I nodded, my hands touching him "you cant be real.. shit zander you cant want me.." i blinked away the tears "i wanted to come to you but it.. i couldnt leave the house" Shaking my head i turned and began to panic. I was really leaving. He was here for me. "Theres a bag under the boys bed each, just throw their clothes and the teddy on their beds in them.. ill grab mias things." I said and running down to my room

I looked at my buddy and then took off to the boys room the kids still haven't seen me and I was glad for that I just wanted to get them the hell out of here.  Once the boys were packed I went to check on Em.  "Em sweetheart let me!"  I said taking the bag she was filling and stuffed her close.  "I don't have my car but my buddy does he can ride my bike back but we need Mia's seat!  Can you get that for him please!"

I nodded. I was in such a panic, trying to get out of here before Brad came back and the kids seen all this and then I had seconds thoughts. I just needed to go. I've been wanting this ever since I walked away from him. I grabbed Mia's seat from the car in the shed and came back inside. "your friend is putting it in his car.. I need.." I wiped away the tears "i'm ready, will you take the boys and i'll get Mia?" I asked looking at them still quietly watching tv. I hoped they didn't hate me for doing this.

I nodded "I'll get all the kids and you just stay by my side okay sweetheart."  She was a mess and I hated seeing her like this. I walked over and shut the tv off and Noah and Andy looked over at me and smiled then Mia ran to me "daddy make pancakes!"  I smiled and kissed her.  "Tomorrow okay let's get going I have lots to show you all."  I picked her up and nodded at Andy.  "I'll need your help with your mum and Noah okay?"  He nodded and that's when I heard a car then yelling.  "Alright don't stop just get into the big SUV.  "Em sweetheart you too just get in okay then lock the doors and buckle the kids!"  We all walked out and bras and Kyle were yelling once brad saw us he was raged.  I got to the car put Mia in her seat and the boys and Em climbed in.  She locked the doors like I said then I walked around and looked at Brad.  "You son of a bitch! You hit her?"  I was so pissed.  I looked at Kyle.  "Zander don't!"  He said but I so wanted to.

Brad glared, his eyes in on this son of a bitch who was taking his wife and kids. "Fuck, how the hell am I meant to react when all she does is mope around the house pining over you.. i'm her damn husband! I came back for her and she's crying for you every night!!" he shook his head then seen her in the car "You're still fucking him aren't you Emilia!" he growled shooting her a look then threw his hands in the air. "i knew it. I fucking knew it. Can't put out for me but you got no problem spreading your legs like a whore for him!"
