I nodded "there's something i've been wanting to do since i saw you at the office" i got closer to her and hugged her tightly "i missed you so much Ava, i'm so happy you're back"

“I’ve missed you.” I whispered, holding him tightly and wrapping my arms around his body. His smell was just as I remembered it “do you have any meetingss that you need to go to? I’ll be ok here if you do.”

"No i've got them all cancelled or reported don't worry about it. Go take a shower we will eat and then you can rest"

“Ok.” I went to the bathroom, freshened up and felt so much more better for it than I did earlier. Coming out I saw Lenny having a diaper change. “So a crib is probably the biggest thing we need to find, and clothing.”

"I'm changing diapers, who ever thought i would do that?" I chuckled "we'll eat and then order anything you need"

“Well you make changing diapers sexy.” And I shit my mouth tightly, oh god why did I say that for?! Jesus Christ. “I mean nice what’s for dinner?”

I chuckled picking lenny up gently "Mary made something, it smells nice but i have no idea what it is. I think it's chicken based"

“Sounds nice.” I sat down beside him carefully as everything still hurt and watched them together “he seems content, which is a good thing.” I checked my email and noticed one from my boss about today’s pitch and flipping out that I blew it. “Do you like living here?”

"It gets lonely, but now that you are here" i smiled "we can live somewhere else if you don't like it"

“Don’t be ridiculous, it’s nice. There’s nothing wrong with it.” I assured “maybe when he’s about 3 he might need a yard to play in but that’s forever away.”

I raised an eyebrow never thinking about that. I looked around us as we walked to the dining room "you're right, this place is more like a bachelor pad than a family house. I'll take care of it" i smiled

“No you don’t have to do that. Don’t worry just get, it’s early days.” And he might not Ike me and the baby around when he dates. “My milk is meant to come in tomorrow, yay for big boobs.” I laughed

I burst in laughter giving her Lenny while i pushed a couch over so we could lay him on it. "That was a very awkward thing to say and we do need to order his things" i sat down after she did "now that you mentioned it, yeah your boobs are bigger"

“Course they are, everything is currently bigger.” I rolled my eyes laughing. “Umm so we should write a list and work through it” I sat down on the couch and rocked Lenny gently until his eyes closed

"We'll get to that after dinner i'm famished!" My phone went off and i pulled it out with a frown. I sighed shutting it off completely and putting it away. "This is delicious"

I had to agree, it was nice to eat something other than takeaway. I managed with one hand just fine and kept holding back on what I wanted to talk to him about. I wanted to talk about that night but didn’t know how to. “What time do you go into work tomorrow?”

"I should be there by 9 but i might take the day off, you might need my help or anything" i finished my plate and took a sip of water before taking Lenny in my arms so she could eat properly.

“That’s if we get any sleep” I laughed “he might scream non stop,” grinning as I thought about that, I really was unprepared. I placed my bowl down and stood up collecting his also to take and wash up but his maid took them with a smile. “Do you know any baby websites?” I asked turning on his laptop

"Mary gave me a website that delivers the very next day" i sat up next to her and typed in the web address. "That's the one" i grinned "they have a huge collection"

“Oh god that’s crazy. How does anyone decide?” I sure couldn’t “umm what do you like?” I scrolled a couple of pages in and found one room that had all the furniture I liked “what about this?” I pointed. “Oh shit, we need a pram also, and car seat.. oh my god we drove home holding him.”

I chuckled and wrapped an arm around her "we'll get everything he needs" i smiled and ordered the bedroom she chose "you'll need milk bottles and pacifiers and toys, we can look more if you're not tired?"

“Yeah and I guess a breast pump also.” I noted, biting my lip as I concentrated and write things down for us to tick them off. An hour later we had brought everything that we needed. “Who knew baby shopping was so much fun.”

"Everything with you is fun" i got up and held out a hand to her "we will sleep on the same bed together tonight on either side of him, since his crib isn't here yet"

“Are you sure? He might keep you awake all night.” I poked my tongue out just as he began to stir and cry. “And he’s ready for his dinner I take it.” I unbuttoned my top and unclipped the bra to feed
