I looked at her then away. “No-well, I mean I don’t remember. I went to a party with a friend of mine you know terry she invited me and there was this guy giving me the look but I drank so much because I was just starting to have these feelings I don’t know what happened.” I was ashamed of it. “I do remember him being really cute but he wasn’t my type. I need someone who is still manly and likes to play sports. Someone who can make me laugh and just be themself. You know?” He sighed. “Being hot and in shape helps too!” He winked.

“You’re describing my fiancé.” I let slip, then blushed “Umm boyfriend.. oh god.. he asked me to marry him, and I said yes.. but I worry he only asked because he thought he was dying, I had all these silly dreams of him doing something romantic and getting down on one knee.” I sighed.

I laughed.  “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to describe him it’s just you have great taste in men lily, and don’t worry I think he will still surprise you.  I’m sure he will and before you ask no he hasn’t said anything to me about it I just have this feeling he will make it special.” I looked at the door and wow! “Damn lily I know you have Gunnar but look at that guy!”

“You’re right, he makes everything special.” I leant in lowering my voice “Just promise me that you won’t ever hurt yourself, you can visit us and stay anytime you like. Nothing you can ever do will disappoint me, I’m always here to help.” I bit my lip “feel like traveling the world with me for a year?”

I heard her but I couldn’t take my eyes from this guy. He was y’all dark hair green eyes that shined, and he was an athlete with his toned legs. He turned and looked at me shit I was caught. I looked back at lily. “Travel the world for a year what about Gunnar?” I said then glanced back to see him still looking probably at lily though. I sighed and turned back to my sister.

I noticed Tom looking behind me and turned, to see a guy standing there. I looked back with a grin and hushed whisper “Oh my god he is a tall glass of sexy!” I winked “I approve! And yeah, I wanted Gunnar to come but he can’t. He said I should still go but I would feel too bad leaving him here. Maybe I could organise some trip close that he and I could do? What’s one thing he had always wanted to do?”

I laughed. “He already has that l, it’s you!” I smiled and saw the hot guy get his ringing phone and answer with “Hey Gunnar buddy!” Looking at lily with shock. “Lily did he just answer and say Gunnar? Do you think he knows your Gunnar?”

I smiled as I heard Matt talk he was telling me all about this guy at the diner he was at. “Okay buddy but I think I have someone I want you to meet but you have to meet his sister my lily first she has to approve of you.”

“Umm well I don’t know any other Gunnar’s around here so probably.. oh my god, he said he had a friend he wants to set you up with.” I waited until he was off the phone, and walked over curiously “excise me, I’m lily, did you just answer a call from my boyfriend? Because if so, you should come join us and meet my super single brother who’s very handsome and fit.”

I starred at my sister opened mouth she did not just do that. I saw him smile and look over at me. I was so embarrassed.

I miled looking over her at the giynshe was sitting with. “Gunnar was just telling me I needed your approval said we needed to get dinner..”. I glanced over at him. “He is very good looking, I’d love to join you both. I’m afraid I can’t stay long I need to pick up my dog, oh please tell me he likes dogs!”

“He loves animals.” I smiled. “Well, I think we grab dinner sometime this week, and I can grill you and you can ask all you want about my brother.. just warning tho, he’s got a very pure heart and kind soul, and my dad is a champion boxer, no pressure.” I winked taking his phone and adding my number “text me a day you’re good.” I went back to my brother and beamed “it’s gunnars friend who he wants to set you up with! Plus, he has big hands.” O winked

I smiled and texted her right now. -can I come over and introduce myself to him now? I like guys with pure hearts means he is honest!- I smiled and waited for her to read the message.

I watched my sister pick her phone up and she smiled big.

“He’s coming over now.” I kicked him under the table as intext back a big yes. As he came over, he joined us. I was so excited for my brother, I hadn’t seen him look this happy for a long time let alone nervous or shy. “Matt, this is my brother Tom, he’s one of four quads and plays soccer on weekends. Maybe you could come watch.” I picked up my phone to text Gunnar - guess who I am sitting next to! I’ll give you a hint, you just called him!-

I smiled at him and wondered how I could be so lucky right now. We talked a little before he said he needed to get his dog from his sister’s. I got his number so we could talk and text.

-Matt is there that’s hilarious he was just telling me he saw this cute guy at the diner! When your done I’ll need to go to the doctors my head is hurting a little.-

I looked at my sister and then at Matt. “Lily what’s wrong?” As she told me my heart skipped. “Go I’ll call Dad to come get me, just go take care of your man.”

“I can take you home if you don’t mind going with me to get my dog.” Matt said.

“He won’t” I smiled, and got up quickly taking To a car keys. I drove to the apartment and walked in with worry “Gunnar, are you ready to go?” I said as I entered the bedroom “how long has it been hurting for?”

I looked up at her, “baby I’m okay I called the doctor and he said when ever I can to come in it doesn’t hurt that bad, it’s been since you left but really I’m okay.” I got up and walked to her. “I hope you at least left Tom with Matt.”

“Yes I did but no, you said your head hurts so let’s go to the hospital now.” I said grabbing my bag. “I didn’t come rushing home to sit around otherwise I’d be having my breakfast still.”

I shook my head. “I wanted you to finish your breakfast.” I kissed her and grabbed her hand. “So Matt told me about this hot guy and I was bummed but then you text me that he was sitting with you guys and now I see he was talking about Tom! What did you think of Matt?”

“He’s nice, but anyone can be nice. We’re having dinner this week with him. Tom likes him, and you may have had some stiff competition if he wasn’t gay.” I teased, and ran my palm over his cheek “come on, let’s go get you checked out.”

I smiled. “Nah I’m better looking than Matt! Plus I can bench more!” I joked and we left I looked at the car. “Ummm where is your car?”

“At home, I have to go get it and drop Toms back.” I laughed “I kind of took off right away.” I leant over after doing my belt up “you’re all kinds of sexy, which I love.”

I smiled. “Good.” As we drove I could tell she was worried. I hated that. Once we got there and I was brought back in a room I grabbed her hand and smiled it’s going to be okay.” Just then the doctor came in and smiled. He did a quick exam and then said he wanted a brain scan just to be sure but he suspected it was nothing. After the scan I sat there playing with her hand. Doctor came in smiling which was good. “Gunnar your just having a normal headache, this will happen but your scan looks great. Really good actually.” I smiled and squeezed her hand. “I have a question doctor, I was wondering if it would be okay to go away for a weekend?” He looked at me then at lily. “If your feeling up to it then you should be okay but I advise you to let me know where you will be going just in case.” I nodded and thanked him. I wanted to plan a special weekend in the snow where I can properly ask lily to be mine.

“A holiday? But you have chemo tomorrow.” I reminded. “We can’t put that off.” His health was more important that a weekend away. “We can go away after that?” I suggested looking at him filled with worry

I smiled “this weekend we are going away I’ll have my chemo I should be okay for the weekend it shouldn’t effect me till we get home. Please go away with me?”

“Well if the doctor agrees to it, then fine we can go away for a weekend somewhere.” I smiled giving in. “But only if you’re well enough.”

I smiled. “I’m pretty sure I will be!” I kissed her and smiled. “Let’s go get your car and talk to your parents or you can talk to them I’ll go get the good stuff from Tom!” I laughed. Hearing my phone beep. “Speaking of Matt just texted saying he can’t wait for dinner because he wants your permission to ask Tom out on a date!”
