With seven kids! The quads who are turning 18 (max, noah, sam, Finn ) . Their daughter who is 16 ( Lily ) and the twins who are 15 ( Tom, Andy ) . It's been a crazy ride and they stopped breeding after they lost a son to stillbirth.

Now, Charlotte runs the café with Lily working there after school to help out.

Tanner has his boxing gym that he runs and trains but never fights.

“I’m fine. Just don’t worry about me today ok.” I couldn’t let him, his sister was who we were here for and I wouldn’t let that get in the way of anything. “Just don’t forget they’re coming to our house after here for something to eat.”

I nodded but was concerned. “Just at least tell me why you hissed? I’ll drop it after okay.” I wanted to think of anything but my sister laying there and my mother somewhere in the room.

“I just had a slight pull in my side. I forgot how much pregnancy hurts at times.” I took his hand squeezing as the funeral director walked up and began to talk. I knew there was no way Tanner was in any state to speak, so I walked up and said some kind words about what a loving person she was and how she was devoted to her children and family. Tears in my eyes, blinking them down my cheeks as I made my way back to sit while music played with a slideshow of photos of her life. I sobbed silently watching.

I cried and smiled here and there at some of the photos James put in. One of all of us together when we were little no mum in sight. Then of us grown and a lot with char in them too. I sighed and squeezed her hand. “Taylor did love you as a sister you know even I’m the hard times look how it shows in the photos.” I whispered.

“I know, In a strange way she loved us all, she just suffered.” I buried my head into his chest and held him crying. “You should speak to your mum, invite her back to the house for a drink.” I pulled away wiping my eyes. “Clearly she’s here for a reason, just find out what and don’t push her away.” I kissed him, wanting it to last forever.

I sighed into the kiss. “I don’t know baby I don’t think whatever it is she wants is going to be good.” I looked behind us and spotted her. “Even James know how this could go. I think Taylor deserves more.”

“Ok sweetheart.” I kissed his cheek and walked over to James and hugged him and the kids, then went to Tanners mother and quietly pulled her aside “Tanner isn’t comfortable with you being here, and I’m going to advise you not to come back to our home.” 

“You’re going to refuse me to mourn my only daughter?”  She asked shocked. “Who are you?” 

“His wife.” I smiled “I never said that at all, you can mourn for Taylor all you like but not at our home. Tanners not up for this, hes hurt enough and seeing you after so long isn’t helping.”

I stood there in a tight hug with James both of us crying. “Come on let’s get to mine and we can have a good scotch well you can I’ll stick to water.” I said not wanting to drink really I just wanted this day to be over, no I wish that Taylor was here again.

I drove us home, and it was the longest trip ever in silence. We went inside and I needed a cup of tea. I’d rather a wine but couldn’t drink. “You kids just behave today ok, keep James kids entertained and busy with games or whatever.” I couldn’t imagine our children loosing one of us. I ran a hand through my hair tired as people began to arrive.

I watched Char a lot making sure she was okay. She looked tired. I walked over to her. “Go lay down in our bed for a while your looking tired and I want you to get rest. I got this for a while.”

“Are you sure? I’m just drained.” I shouldn’t be sleeping when people were here. I rubbed my stomach and shyly yawned “I love you.” I wrapped my arms around him and kissed him softly. “Just keep James away from the alcohol ok, his kids need him sober not drunk.”

I nodded. “Okay but just so you know they are staying here tonight all of them. I hope that’s okay I just thought it best for the kids and him.”

“Of course, and we’ve got the room for them.” I kissed him and wrapped my arms around his body. “Come check on me later.” I walked away and up to our bedroom rubbing my stomach.

I smiled watching her. I was lucky. I looked over and saw James looking at me then I saw it in his eyes how depressed he really was. And seeing char and me probably wasn’t helping. I waked over. “Hey man you doing as good as you can right now?”

“Yeah don’t worry about me. I’ll take another drink tho.” He said downing the last of his whisky. “You need a drink to? I’ll grab us both one.” He said sighed “and don’t fucking lescture me, you’d be doing the same if Char was dead.”

I sighed. “I won’t lecture you but you know I can’t drink so just grab me a water okay.” I can’t stop him he was hurting and hurting bad cause I know how much he loved Taylor. How long he loved her. He was a mess when she left him.

He ignored his water and brought a bottle of scotch over “stop being pussy whipped and grow your balls back, have a fucking drink with me.” He sat down and filled the glasses up. “Your sister..” He shook his head “I’d do anything to bring her back. You’re lucky Tanner, you’ve got a great marriage. I’m jealous, you two never go through any shit.”

I shook my head . “Not true that’s why I no longer drink remember. Char and I aren’t perfect but your right I’m lucky I still have her I should have lost her but I don’t know why she took me back.” I looked down at the scotch. “I can’t man. If I drink that then I will loose her. I want Taylor back too.” I wiped the tear away.

“Just one. Have a drink with me for your sister.” He slid the glass over and shook his head as tears fell “she ruined my life but I damn well miss her man.”

I nodded but I couldn’t take the drink if chad found out I would no longer have one so I pretended to take a sip. It smelled good. “She didn’t always make your life Hell there was a time when she was a lot like char. “

“Yeah I know.” He looked at him, and raised a brow “do a shot. Toast to your sisters life and moving on.” He grabbed two smaller glasses and filled them “if you don’t drink it you’re a dick. Char is in bed and the kids are outside, have a drink and then gargle some mouth wash and she’ll never know. I miss the old Tanner, you’re too uptight these days.” He sighed and poured the black sambucca to the brim “remember this drink, we used to love this on a Friday night.” He smiled

I sighed. “James I can’t, I’m sorry but for the sake of my sisters and my marriage I can’t. Taylor wouldn’t like you drinking this much either you know that. She would want you to remember all the good times and try to be happy for the kids.” I stood up, “I’m sorry man I love you but I can’t, I’m gonna check on the kids.”

“Yeah you’re a soft cock. Under the fucking thumb.” He muttered and downed both shots not caring. “Pussy whipped dickhead.” He noticed his glass of Coke and smirked adding in some bourbon and walked away to grab some food. 

I laid in bed, more pain in my side as I tried to rest but couldn’t. I dialed the doctors number, worried about losing the baby due to the last pregnancy and how that went. She told me to come straight in for an ultrasound. I walked downstairs and couldn’t see James or Tanner, and told Lily to tell her father I would be back soon.

Lily ran out after awhile when she seen her dad “hey dad, mums just gone into town for a bit, she said don’t worry and she will call if she’s not home soon.”

I looked at lily walking inside I sat down with my coke and called char worried when she didn’t answe I drank some Coke finding it tasted off. Shakin got off I took another sip Nope it was different. Then it hit me James was here with my Coke for a while that fucker.

I came back a couple hours later, a lot of the people had left and I spotted Tanner. I just walked over and hugged him, kissing him but pulled away noticing what he spelt off “you’ve been drinking.” I pointed out backing away. “I swear to god I will put you in hospital if you’ve been sitting here drinking Tanner.”
