I smirked. "Well I would say interesting but it wasn't. I pretty much sat behind my desk and thought of this strikingly beautiful amazing woman who happens to be carrying my child." I kissed her lightly. "You want dinner or to go to your mums first?"

"Then we can go back to your place, and burn the bed thats had your hoe's in there" i smiled a little, but i was serious

I sighed and rubbed my hands up and down her back. "Princess nobody has slept in that bed but me and I mean that before you as well nobody!" I kissed her forehead. I hated that she thought I would just let her mum talk down to her. We drove to her mothers and I kissed her cheek before we knocked. I was pissed.

Mum opened the door, looking surprised and then shocked once when seen Brody there. "oh. I wasn't expecting you both.. Come in, can I get you a drink?" she asked not making eye contact with him. "water for me is fine." I managed a slight smile. "theres something I need to discuss.." I felt sick with nerves. "I'm pregnant."

"with Wades baby? Oh how wonderful. You're getting a peice of him back." she smiled, looking pleased. "you must be a few months along then, we're you and Wade trying?"

This wasn't going the way I thought "no mum. It's.." I glanced up at Brody nervously "it's Brodys. He's the father;"

I smirked as I was so proud of Lila. Take that you bitch of a mother. "And I want to discuss the note that I left Lila that disappeared?" I said sternly. "And just remember ma'am I'm a officer of the law and I'm trained to detect a lie!"

She shot him a glare "you may be an officer, but in this house you're just the man who's meant to have taken care of his dead best friends fiance. How could you prey on her like that, when she was most vunerable!"

"Mum!" i stood up, hurt by her words. "It's not like that."

"Shut up you silly girl, of course it is! he's wanted you for years, everyone could see it.. and the moment Wade dies.." she shook her head laughing "are we sure it was even a suicide.. he was about to marry you Lila! it's just irionic that good ol Brody found his body.. it's too late to do an autoposy..."

I slapped her across the face. "How dare you say something so cruel and horrible. Brody and I both lost someone we loved.. but you know what, it brought us together and now we're going to have a child. I'm 4 weeks, and i really don't need this stress so we're leaving!" i shouted, hurt by everything she said.

"You wait until Wade's famil;y find out, that you moved on and fell pregnant to his best friend. Stupid child!"

I stopped in my tracks and turned around. "What wades family will think is they will be happy for Lila and they will support her because that's the kind of people they are! How wade turned out is beyond anything. You have no clue what he did to your daughter! How badly he hurt her by not only killing himself but other things." I shook my head. "Lila is so fucking special you don't even realize it! I hope you do run and tell wades family and while your at it make sure you mention his child with the stripper he cheated on your daughter wife!" With that I grabbed Lilas hand and stormed out. Once in the car I looked at her. "Fuck I'm so fucking sorry I didn't mean for that to come out but I couldn't stand there and listen to her say another word about him and how perfect he was and put you down . I lost control and I'm sorry."

I should have been angry. But i just began to laugh. He must think I'm crazy. "I'm not even mad, I'm just sad that she reacted the way I assumed she would." i reached over, brushing my fingers against his jawline "I hope your right about Wade's family, because I don't know if they're going to be happy or not." i sighed, "especially now knowing their son got a stripper pregnant" and then i started crying.

I pulled her to me as best as I could. "Hey hey they will always love you that's the kind of people they are trust me I grew up with them well my brother and I they kind of took us in when we needed people the most." I rubbed circles over her back. "Let's get sow thing to eat and go home okay?"

I nodded, thinking that sounds really good right now. "yes please." I clipped up my belt and stared ahead wiping my eyes and trying not to worry

Once home I looked over at her. "What do you want to eat? I can cook or order something you pick." I said as I got out then opened her door. "Welcome home princess."

I smiled laughing "you dont have to keep calling me princess you know." I picked up my bag and turned facing the house "umm anything you want to eat is fine, I'm not that hungry."

I smiled. "Do you not like me calling you princess because that's how I see you as my princess always have well not mine till now but always a princess." I said grabbing my phone and ordering Chinese I didn't feel like cooking.

"you have me on a pedestal. I'm not that amazing." obviously if I screwed my dead fiances best friend. "make sure you don't forget prawn crackers."

I smiled and nodded. Then said. "But you deserve to be on a pedalstal! You are amazing". I said and then started to shout off my order and some extra orders not knowing what she would want.

Almost moaning as I slipped off my shoes, I sat on the couch and watched him order. Thinking about how this could really work, would we be able to make this a relationship I wondered. When he was off the phone I stood back up "show me my room?"

I looked at her. "Ummm well I don't have the guest room set up so you can have mine and if your not comfortable then I'll take the couch but Lila I will want to sleep in my bed that will become ours with you." I said and smiled at her.

"Ok, we can share a bed but no sexy stuff.." i teased, "unless you're willing to do some magic mike moves in your cop uniform, then i may change my mind."

I shook my head. "Oh Lila I got lots of moves you haven't seen yet!" I winked. Okay so I could maybe do a little dance. But I wasn't going to let her know that just yet. "Would you like to soak in the bath before the food arrives?"

"no, I think I jitsu want to put my pjs on and be lazy." I smiled "we need to talk about my house too. I have to pack some things up and sell others." I wasn't sure how he felt about helping me, especially with all Wades things in there.

I smiled. "Okay go get comfy and we can cuddle on the couch and talk." I winked. Maybe I can get he to tell me more about our baby. I sat down and turned the tv on some sports show and waited with a huge smile on my face.

I changed, coming back out to see him on the couch. "Do you always do that after work? sit and watch tv?" i teased sinking down beside him and putting my legs over his. "What's on?"

I smiled. "Nothing just catching up on sorts but honestly no I don't sit around watching tv when I come home normally I got to the gym or run then make some dinner sometimes hand out with my brother. But I figured since you were getting changed I would catch up." I picked her foot up and started to rub it. "So our baby, have you seen it yet? When is your next appointment I want to go to them all?"

I smiled down at my flat tummy. "Our baby is growing well, and they done a quick scan, i have another in two weeks to check out the dates more accurately." i moaned a little at his fingers rubbing my feet "feels so good.. do you work tomorrow?" i tried to focus, thinking of his roster.

"I do work tomorrow it's my last day then I'm off for three." I say and smile. "You wanna maybe go to dinner and a movie tomorrow after I get off?"
