2 young druids that live in an encampment a achool of.sorts for those that wish 2 live and breath and dwell in nature come 2 such camps 2 become the masters of nature and natural balance. These 2 druids have come very.close 2 been set on their firsr mission as full druids. But before than can a bad thing happens whioe they are out doing chores for their respected teachers.

I smile and nod " your welcome your a very good studen here before you get 2 dehydrated" i say as i toss her a water skin (water pouch made.out of an animals stomach with a cork tightly screwed in the top 2 keep the water in.) And drink some.from.my own water skin

I gladly took it and drank. "So after we rest, then what?"

"after we rest we take up somemore ground before we get 2 tired and before we get ready.for the 2nights camp il show u some more or teah u.more bout how 2 hear an enemy in the dark." I say as i grab our packs and hand one 2 you

"Sounds good." I said and took the pack from him. I actually enjoy training in the dark it's different and challenging.

I smile and gently take her arm. "ready for the dark? I cnt keep the spell up forever unfortunatly and havnt tryed keeping going this long before."

"Sure being on the challenge!" I laughed at my own stupidness.

Smile and laugh alittle as i cut the fairie fire out and stsrt movingthru the tunnel.again with my.hand on kats arm guiding her thru.the darkness once again. "if you want we.can train wile walking as far as learning how 2 identify and deal with an enemy in the dark.

"Sure the more training the netter I will be." I smiled and laughed a little.

" ok now u hear how our voices echo off the tunnel walls? That can throw off alot of people. Bc sound distance here is so much different than it is outside. Sound in a cave system depending on how close the walls are can travel for pver 100 miles. The dwarves use that trick all the time with drums and a tight small hole 2 echo thru the tunnels 2 send messages between citys. Where as a messanfer would take weeks eveb with the tunnels a drum message would take bout a day 2 get the hole message"

I smile an keep going "the dwarves use tunels for everythingbut again they can be a travelers worst nightmare bc t can distort distances and when traveling around you need2 know ur suroundings best."

"I agree, so how when you thrown into a situation as in now, where I know practically nothing how do you suppose I go about it?"

That is the hardest trick learn you have 2 listen for the real sound and try annd gauge how far off the sound is from you. Take the dwarven voices we heard the other night. I would say that they were atleast a day or 2 ahead of us at a educated guess.. Bc lf the way their voices echoed off the walls. It sounded far away yet close enuf that we could tell it was dwarven that they were speaking. its kind of hard 2 explain. But basicly you have 2 try and pinpoint the sound as it echoes." I say as i try and explain what im trying 2 ttalk about

yeah I can see how it's hard, but you explained it very well." I say as I try to encourage him to explain more.

Its not a easy skill 2 but its well worth having when out on ur own. It also helps when in a group aswell bc it allows u even out in the woods 2 hear n pinpoint ur target or ur pursuers" i say in a light tone of voice

I tried to focus on what he was saying but something didn't feel right. "Um drizzts I think something is up ahead, maybe about 200 ft."

i look up and gently pull her 2 a.stop as i listen closely not quite sure what they are just by noises alone.

We stopped moving and were both struggling to hear what was being saide, I looked over at drizzts and noticed he really was having difficulty hearing. So I concentrated harder. Then I heard what seemed to be two drows talking about drizzts. "Uh drizzts I don't want to be the one to tell you this, but the attack back at our home was because they coming after you. There is two drows up ahead. They are not moving but waiting for us to come that way. They said that they will not let you get away so easily this time. I think we should stop here and continue training, till my senses are a little better before we endure in a fight with them."

"i agree bu lets head further back maybe a mile but either way our traning is gana echo 2 them. I guess the spider queen hasnt had enuf of her servants blood spilt yet. And she shoulda sent atleast 10 our way of they were planing on killing me or capturing me." I say as i start going back the way we came

We moved back and started in on training. Drizzts moved all around with me telling him where he is, some were harder than others but I was catching on. I started pinpointing he exact locations. After I got that we started on my fighting again. That was a lot easier, seeing as I knew a lot of it already and that I was just a little rusty.

I smile and breath alittle heavy from the training "very good very good. Now how bout we do alitt sword training. Do you have a blade?l" i ask her as i get one of my own out

I smile and get in a ready position "draw it and get in ready position feet shoulderwidth apart your hands about waist level." I say and wait till shes ready before we begin an hour of basics then an hour of advanced stuff and slowing moving into harder and mor technical combinations

Huh I was right it was very interesting but fun in a way. Although it got harder I was determined to prove I can do it. I took a deep breath and realized drizzts was breathing slightly harder as well. "Water!" Was all I said.
