After my shower, I dressed and tied my hair up, pulling on my warm coat and gloves, I walked down to them “I’m ready when you are.”

I was serving a lady, giving her a coffee when I noticed my husband walking in. “What do I owe this lovely surprise? Are you hungry?” I smiled, and walked over to put the money in the till.

I shook my head. “I’m a idiot a stupid fool. I’m so sorry I forgot.” I pulled out her favorite things I bought her and just stood there. “Happy belated birthday Abby’s.”

I managed a weak smile, tilting my head to the side with tears. “I didn’t want you to feel bad, because I honestly forgot also, I’ve been so busy that usually you and the kids remember so I don’t need to.” I laughed, crying with tears. But no one did, and that really hurt. “You don’t need to apologise, I’ll let you off the book this year.” I sat down in the booth and looked at the flowers “they’re beautiful, all of this is appreciated Tanner, I’m blown away.”

I looked down. “I wouldn’t have known if Sam didn’t say something, I am aweful. I can’t remember my wife’s birthday or important things.” I shook my head. “I do need to apologize because it hurts you, I’m hurting you.”

I looked up at him, just with a nod. “Well, I’d you forget our wedding anniversary I’ll divorce you.” I teased, and reached for his hands “I know it’s hard, it’s hard on us all but we will get through it and work together to help you remember.”

I nodded. “I love you, and I will write our Anniversary over and over so I don’t forget!” I smiled a small smile. “So I have a lot of planning to do now.” I winked an dkissed her then looked around. “Lily not here yet?”

“No she’s not.” I didn’t want to say anything more to him about her being late, I knew where she was and rubbed my arm “coffee? Or maybe a pie?” I said trying to distract him.

I looked at her then the counter. “A to go coffee the special one you make me-“. I turned to her and smiled more. “The one with cinnamon in it, I love that one I remember that!”

“Oh yes! You won’t ever order them elsewhere so I have to order them, pretending it for me.” I laughed, “see, you’re remembering the little things.” I praised as Lily walked over with an extra happy bounce in her step. She talked, fast and rambled and then walked off. Jesus Christ. They were having sex.

I looked after where lily went. “Did she seem overly happy, like I had sex happy to you?” I shook my head. “I swear this boy better not her.”

“I think if they’re not having sex, they will be soon.” I sighed rubbing my belly. “Your daughter isn’t stupid, she’s smart and yes, she’s been in trouble but she really likes him, and he loves her.” I glanced over at her working. “She can spend the night tonight, but you can tell her tomorrow she’s back home for the week.” I winked

I shook my head and laughed. “This is for. It remembering your birthday isn’t it?” I kissed her. “Get my coffee woman I got a lot to do today.”

I laughed, nodding. “Sure is handsome.” I leant forwards and kissed him hard. “I love you. Now go be the mean dad, and then I’ll think of something else you can do to make it up to me later.”

I shook my head. “Fine I deserve this.” I walked off over to lily. “Hey lily, I think it’s best if you stay tonight at Gunnar’s but tomorrow your home for the rest of the week understand?”

I raised a brow, snorting “umm why are you being so mean? Jesus, I never said I was staying all week! I said tonight! Oh my god you’re so annoying and just assume everything!” I snapped, and walked off. 

Charlotte heard, giggling to herself. “Well done dear, and here is your coffee and a steak pie, now kiss me and let me work.”

I kissed her and shook my head.  “I deserve it. I love you see you later.”  As I left I got in my car and called her brother knowing he was still mad at me I made it quick.  “We screwed up and forgot her birthday so I need you to fly out here today I’ll pay for whatever you want just please she needs to see you, she misses you and this will make her feel better.”

“Fine. I’ll get on the next flight and come see her, this isn’t for you though. Just remember I think she deserves better after what you done to her” He muttered and ended the call.

I sighed. “Shit he was so right but I was going to prove to everyone I can be that guy for her again.” I just wished I remembered what happened.

I finished working, and walked through the front door with a box of slices and pastries. The house quiet, and kids at school. “Hello?” I sang out, wondering if Tanner was home. I heard nothing, so I kicked off my shoes, undone my shorts button letting my belly out more, and sat up on the couch with my box of food watching a movie. Soon, and covered in flakes of pastry, I fell asleep on the couch.

I came home with a bunch of things for her pluse her brother and his family and saw her sleeping on the couch it was adorable. I put the stuff in my office and walked over to her. “Baby, hey baby. Wake up your surprise is here.”

I stirred, still keeping my eyes closed “if your cock is near my face I’ll slap it.” I mumbled, and then heard someone else behind the couch chuckle. I sat up, still half asleep and froze not believing he was here “oh my god!” I jumped, running over to him “I can’t belive you’re here!!” 

He held her back with a smile “seems like every time I visit you’re always pregnant.” He grinned with a laugh. 

I laughed back “true, four months to go.”

I smiled at them. “I also ordered your favorite for dinner so you don’t have to cook tonight you can relax and hang with our family all night!” I walked over and kissed her. “Oh and I got the boys cleaning up around the house well most of them.” I winked.

“Really?” I was shocked he had managed to get them to help clean “Thankyou Tanner, I’m speechless. It’ll be nice having dinner with all the kids and Luke.” I took my brothers hand and urged him outside “Come and tell me everything, I want to hear what you’ve been doing.”

I smiled and watched them walk off while I went to check on the boys. “Thank you for helping she is so happy that you boys are doing something and that Luke is here. I still can’t believe we forgot her birthday I’m such a idiot.”

“Where’s lily? Isn’t she coming for dinner?” Cole said, putting away the last of the dishwasher. “It’s only fair you know”.
