Back when Noella was 3 years old she was in her mothers friends wedding where she and (boy) walked down the aile as flower girl and ring bearer.  After that day her family moved to the United states.  It's been 23 years now and noellas mom passed away and she decides to move back to Australia.  She decides to look up her moms old friend. Will she find her and her son (him) again?  If she does what will happen?

"Oh my look at you two. I cannot believe it. Tom dear, you wouldn't remember probably, you and Noella were in a wedding together years ago. Only a little tot. Wow, you've grown so much but i wouldn't forget eyes like yours." she smiled embracing her for a hug.

Hmm so this was the woman my aunt talked on and on about. Damn. Suddenly my visit to the hospital just became more interesting. "Well aunt, i think Noella needs to come for one of your home cooked meals, you can catch up."

I was in shock this is one of the reasons I moved back.  I stared at my mums friend and wanted to cry.  "So dear how's your mum?  Is she back as well?"  She asked and that's when I couldn't hold it together anymore silent tears came pouring down my cheeks.  "My mum was murdered by her boyfriend."  I said quietly.  I heard a gasp and looked up to see the three starring at me. "Your actually one of the reasons I moved back here.  My mum wrote a letter telling me about you and left some things for me to give you."  I said not fearing to look at Tom.

"what things dear?" she asked "you must come over, where are you staying?"

I wasn't sure what to say. I was still in shock that this was the girl I had been in a wedding with years ago. "yes come.ove. "

I smiled at them.  "I'm staying here within a block for the hospital in the apartments called highland." I said not sure how to respond to them asking me to come over.  "And I don't know mum left the box of things with a letter for you so I never opened them.  I can bring them by tomorrow!  As I'm off.  But it would have to be in the evening as I need to leave here and sleep!"

"I can give you a lift. I'm headed they're tomorrow and you don't know the way so it makes sense." I suggested looking right at her.enough to know she felt intimidated by my gaze

I looked away the way he looked at me made my insides flip and in between my legs moist.  "Oh that's ok I don't want to upset your wife she didn't seem too happy that I was in bens room earlier."  I said glancing at him.  Then looked at the other woman who hasn't spoke yet till now.


"Sam is here?  I fucking kick her ass!"  I hated his ex.  "What the hell does she want now?  And wait is this her first visit?  God she doesn't care about Ben. Take her back to court get her out of his life Tom!"

My jaw tensed as I stood."mum, she's his mother. I won't piss her off because you have a vendetta against her. He needs her around." I sighed. I didn't like it much but I had to play nice for the sake of my son. "and watch your language, you're getting worse in your old age." I smirked teasing her. "I hope to see you tomorrow, " reaching on my wallet i pulled out my business card and slid it in front of her "call if you would like a lift I'll be on my cell." I gave her a smile and then grabbed my coffee and headed to the room dreading it already.

I felt out of place as I watched him walk away I wasn't sure what the hell that was about.  After I told them that I would be there and what time I went back to work not going near bens room.  After my terrible day I finally went home and crashed.  The next day I did some errands before heading to my mums old friends house.  But as I went to start my car it wouldn't.  "Shit!"  I pulled out the card and hesitated before calling as he answered in a sexy voice I almost hung up.  "Umm hey it Noella I was uh getting ready to head to your aunts but my car won't start.  I don't want to cause any problems with you and your wife so I can call a cab if it will."  I said and bit my lip waiting for him to say something.

I chuckled, unable to stop smiling. "Noella." i said slightly more huskily than intended "i wish you would stop calling her my wife, she's my ex and i can come get you. Ben and i were just heading out there actually."

I sat there for a second before he said my name and asked if I was still there.  "Oh yeah sorry umm."  I let out a breath.  "I would really appreciate it."  I thought he was married I mean she called him her husband and he didn't correct her when I was in there and then stood up for her to his mum.  Men are so confusing!

I spotted her standing by her little car and almost snorted. No wonder it wouldn't start. it looked as if it were going to blow off the highway. "You're lucky it's just about to rain." i said as she got in. "Ben passed out, but it's not too far to drive."

I felt bad.  "I'm so sorry you had to come get me I really could have taken a cab."  I looked in the back and Ben was sleeping it was adorable . "How is he doing with the pain?"

"and i told you to call. i had already offered." i shot her a quick glance. "The pain is good, he's barely complained. Although i think the fact he is eating icecream more than usual probably helps."

I smiled.  Not sure what to say.  "So tom?  It is tom right?"  I said and he nodded with a sexy ass grin.  "What is it you do for a leaving were you can afford this nice of a car?"  Oh god why did I ask that.  "I'm sorry that was rude."

I laughed "No it's ok. I work at a lawfirm, i'm actually a partner in it. Youngest one ever believe it or not but being part genius helps. I'm quick with numbers and bring in clients easily. Never lost a case yet." except my own.

I laughed.  "Cocky much?"  I smiled.  "Kidding.  How old are you exactly?"  I wish I didn't have to ask questions. I hated it because i felt so stupid.

"Not cocky. Confident." i grinned "and 26, you?" i asked "how did you get into the medical field?"

"Same and I always wanted to help people kids specially with the childhood i had."

"Weird how we were in a wedding together and never knew it, now we met up years later." why i brought that up for, i hadn't a clue but it had been on my mind all day.

I smiled. "Yeah it is a little weird. I don't remember it though so it must of been a good memory!" What the hell why did I say that, oh because you only remember the bad. "Speaking of weddings you must of gotten married young?"

I.nodded "yes I was married at 22 and it ended officially last year. I try to keep the peace so I can still see my son regularly. He means the world to me" i then glanced over again, "do you have a lover back home? I'm sure there's a gguy"

"Wow young!" I said and looked out the window. "And no lover back in the states. I was too busy for a life." I loved how he was with Ben. "I think my mum had a certain person she wanted me to marry but never told me before her death. Her boyfriend found out and got pissed because he was in love with me secretely. It grossed me out and I moved away then my mum needed up murdered. He is the main suspect but they haven't found him." I sighed I have no clue why I told him that.

"so her murder is still unsolved? " i asked.slight more interested. "and your mum chose out a husband for you? What if you didn't like each other?"

I gave a small smile. "Yeah that's why I also moved back that and to find my mums long lost friend. I'm scared he will look for me." I glanced at him. "Yeah she had a guy who she thought was perfect I heard her in the phone one night, the same night Clark came in and got pissed at her and said she couldn't force me to marry and if I were to marry it would be him. Mum and him had a screaming match and I left." I looked back out the window. "A week later I went to check on her because she had calls me the night before saying she loved me and that if something happened to her I needed to find Tasha." I sighed dramaticly.

Without thinking i reached over and squeezed her thigh gently "don't worry, your mothers death will get justice and the killer given a hefty time served for fleeing." pulling my hand back when she looked down, i murmured a "sorry."
