I shrugged "i don't know the day after the desaster i woke up without them"

I shook my head, not sure what he was talking about "What disaster?"

[Demona]

i sighed "well i think its time you know about that day. it was 3 days after my mom died and i got into a fight at school and almost killed the kid so they expelled me. i home and my dad was so pissed we got at each others throats and i left the house took my surf board and gear and went to the beach. sometimes our emotions control our powers" i sighed and looked at her "just like when sometimes you freeze something or burn it when you're angry" i looked away "well that day i was surfing and my emotions were so strong and the waves got higher and stronger and the water even flooded the whole shore and it destroyed everything and more than hundred people were killed. all those who were in the ocean died, i was the only survivor in the water. i woke up in the hospital with no powers"

I couldn't imagine how guilty he must have felt waking up to learn that. "Nate, that doesn't sound like something you could have prevented. It's so hard to control these powers, and you had no one to help you learn" I said

[Demona]

"maybe, and that's what i have been telling myself for years so i can sleep at night. but deep down i still know that if i wasn't so stupid and irresponsible all those people wouldn't have died that day. i have their blood on my hands and it kills me, that's the reason i didn't tell you about my powers. i didn't want you to freak out or not give me a chance if you knew what i did"

"I know you, I know that you're a good person" I said "I know that if there was a way for you to have stopped what happened that day you would have done whatever it took" I would have felt just as guilty as Nate did in his situation, but because I was on the outside looking in I knew that it wasn't his fault.

"yeah...but don't you think its weird both our mothers died suddenly?"

[Night Air]

"I do" I said "But I'm scared of what might happen if we go searching for answers. I have so many questions that I don't even know where to start"

"we have to know who brought us that video tape, and when we do i think we'll where to look"

"How are we going to figure that out? I asked

[Demona]

"maybe we should check the security cameras of the house first"

[Night Air]

"I forgot you had those!" I said. Hopefully we would find something useful on the tapes.

[Demona]

I shrugged "come on lets try" we went to our bedroom and i took out my laptop i tried viewing the records but some parts must have been deleted "damn it!"

"Whoever did this really planned it out"

[Demona]

"Yes but i'm sure that person doesn't know about the security cameras on the trees across the street. But we have to go to kevin's house to check those though"

"Can we go right now?" I asked

[Demona]

"Yes of course, kevin must be out anyway. Come on"

Nate let the way and let us into Kevin's house with his spare key when we saw there was no car in the driveway. When we walked into the house I called out "It's Nate and Cassie, is anyone home?" just in case.

i made my way to the monitor room "there's no one home come on" i went through the files and found it "here..,its a woman" i froze when i zoomed on her face "isn't that your...mom?" i asked looking up at her. i had seen a few pictures but i couldn't forget her face she looked a lot like cassie with the same piercing eyes.

[Night Air]

I clasped my hand over my mouth, eyes wide. I leaned in closer to see and nodded. My thoughts were spinning around my head. I didn't understand. She was dead.

[Demona]

"ho...how is that even possible? i relaxed against the chair and brought her to sit on my lap. how long has she been dead for?"

I let him pull me onto his lap and I took his hand "12 years, I saw her last when I was 5" I said "How could she be here"

"My mom...she left us twelve years ago. She came back a few years later before she died. Do you think...they..i mean maybe they aren't dead. Maybe they are hiding?"
